AkinDS:
Tosin Demehin has the preferred stature and the right attributes for a center-back.
Those with 'intimidating physique' are usually slow and immobile.
I only wanted her to add up a little, Maybe just like how Osi looks.. She’s still very young though and change will come in as time goes on.

But most Nigerians wanted Pinnick gone, accusing him of all sorts of things.
Now you have Gusau, who has been sitting on his rear end doing absolutely nothing!

It looks like Nigerian football is in for a very rough ride these coming 4 years!!

Gusau na Big time low budget Amaju, I just hope things turn better for the Falcons or better still he does half of what Amaju did for the Falcons in terms of Friendly games..

By now the Falcons would have known their Friendly Game Opponents for the February FIFA Window
Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by AkinDS: 4:46pm On Jan 09, 2023
And that is the problem with Nigerians... we always feel comfortable with incompetent and inept leaders.
How and why someone like this became president of our FA is beyond me.
Pinnick understood that football is all about controversy, which drives fan base intrigue and growth, which in turn drives sponsorship. From jersey designs to coach selection to sponsorship from industries. Pinnick understood how it works and leveraged that knowledge.

This guy lacks the charisma, know-how and intelligence to make a positive impact in our football, or at a minimum, build off what Pinnick left behind.
Brace yourselves for a very dull and unproductive next 4 years!!

Gasau is Pinnick's man though. He was his choice candidate and he ensured he did everything to make him president. So we can't as it were blame Nigerians for something Amaju orchestrated.
Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by AkinDS: 5:07pm On Jan 09, 2023
Please!
That was all politics - based on the fact that Pinnick got a lot of flack from the north because of his prolonged fight with Chris Giwa.
The person he wanted to support was Seyi Akinwunmi (a southern candidate) would have been a no-no with northerners and that was why he supported Gusau.

Not true though.

Persons familiar with the matter reported that pinnick and Akinwunmi were at loggerheads. They almost always didn't see eye to eye. He also had affirmed in different public fora that he'll rather support the north to take over of he were to step down.

You'll notice also that just a few weeks ago, Pinnick and Gasau both went round Nigeria visiting corporations in lieu of preparation and sponsorship for the next world cup.

That is not even relevant right now. If truly he was principal to the numerous friendlies we had prior, then he should pitch in to ensure the girls success. Gasau wouldn't object.

Your take and mine on the relationship between Pinnick and Akinwunmi differ.

And why should Pinnick continue to intervene, regarding the affairs of the NFF? Afterall, like you aptly stated, he has done the introductions of Gusau to the sponsors and he has stepped down. The handoff has been completed. Besides, its none of Pinnick's business anymore, since Nigerians made it clear they have had enough of him!
Its now SOLELY on Gusau's head to move the ball forward but instead, he seems to fumbling and doesn't have a clue as to what to do.

The visits earlier highlighted weren't part of thr handover process, most of the visits were to potential new sponsors in lieu of getting the eagles adequately prepared for the next World Cup.

Also, Nigerians aren't the bad people in the equation of Amaju leaving. He's had 8 years to prove himself and it was time for him to say goodbye. Methinks Amaju potentially tends to gain more with Gasau not doing well. He can leverage on Gasau's incompetence to launch a comeback.

Just sad

I don't even know what to say.

Why do we like making simple things difficult in this part of the world? Just why.

Take football away from governmental institutions. The civil service mentality has killed football in Nigeria.

Remove almost totally government money from it. Let those who want to run it go use their heads to source for funds.

Let's move football private, things will get better.

Super Falcons head coach, Randy Waldrum;"The first target for us at the World Cup is to advance out of the group stage.Everyone wants to get to the knockout stage but obviously in order to achieve that, you have to advance out of the group, our focus is principally on doing that."

There are some genetic actions in our leaders that once anybody says they did something, i believe instanta. Set aside the technicalities of media life with denials, etc. Shameful lots. Very shameful.

Tenure never start, owing don start aspa "they are down the pecking order, so we face more serious matters for now"

People like these get jailed in Asia. Later they'll be doing one nonsense fire brigade approach as motivation. It's their fault money is the motivation for players repping the country. These things kill patriotism. Anti-Morrocan Syndrome.

He can want heaven for them, if there is no set plan, timetable of events and activities, it is fruitless. Blueprint copying is allowed, but No!! They can never be organized. Mtchew.

So myopic they think coming to stadium to watch dem girls go be one kine motivation. Delusion!

Government in Nigeria and indeed most of Africa have proven over time that they aren't for progress.. Anything wey concern progress no concern them.,

Our tech and entertainment sector are proof that if left for the private sector, our football can develop well too..In this country, almost anything privately owned and managed is better than government own.. it's unfortunate
