Hello please, I heard new changes were made to the application process for an international passport last month.

Is it true all the application process can be done online and I'll only need to turn up at the immigration office for capturing?

Meaning I might only turn up at the office once all through the application?

Hello everyone, Please i need your advice. I did change of name due to marriage and i captured 1st of Nov. I spoke to the officer helping me with the process dec 23rd and he was like i should pay 10k for fast tracking the process after i had paid 65k . So, last week he snapped my data page to me that he will let me know when the passport is ready for collection. Till now i haven't heard from him and i need the passport on Monday 16th for an appointment

Ps: On the data page, date issued is 4th January

Pls house, my guarantor is concerned about the address on his NIN is not the same as the one on the passport, will that be an issue?

You don't need his NIN. A photocopy of his passport will do just fine.

I'm afraid you've been scammed. No such thing as 'Fast-tracking'. You will have to wait till February at least.

If you paid cash at bank you would need payment confirmation or receipt which the bank would print out and give to you. Attach to your application as well.
.....okay, i get now, i used paystack via the immigration website.

same with me. Does that mean the receipt print out from the portal is the only evidence of payment we need?

No, you won't be needing that, the documents in my previous response is all you'll be needing including your NIN slip and two passport photographs and all documents should be inside a brown file like I stated earlier.

Go to you local government secretariat or your State Liaison Office in the State you reside, go straight to the state of origin certificate application office and request to correct the error with your state of origin certificate. You will be giving another form to fill in your correct details, this time make sure all your details are correct as you need them to be. All you will be requested for is the correction charges and a new certificate charges. This won’t be more than 1,500 Naira or 2000 Naira

After that you will have to wait while the certificate is printed and signed. This whole process takes a few hours, so it is very possible for you to just wait and collect your certificate that same day.

Make sure to go with your previous certificate for the reason of confirmation or else you will be asked to apply for a new certificate and begin the process as new.

Thank you.

1)  (a)You need payment confirmation or receipt from one of the following gateways : payfixy, bank, saanapay, Innovate1pay, etc. (b) Acknowledgement slip (c) Computer generated bill (payment receipt) by Nigeria Immigration Service. (2) If your enrollment is at Alausa passport office you do not need to.(3) At Alausa passport office no such thing like extra payment. But you need to get a plain white file for your documents.(4) It can be sorted out on the day of capturing since the name on your NIN slip matche(s) with the name arrangement on your passport application form.
Thanks a lot. My enrollment centre is Ibadan. I got all your points clearly apart from no 1. After online payment through paystack, a receipt was already generated and downloaded from the portal to print out. Which other evidence of payment is required apart from that?

Another receipt was also sent to my mail by paystack as well. I'll also do like u said. The two should be enough I guess. My capturing is in March. I want to be sure if we don't need to first submit any file b4 then.

Re: Cost Of A Nigeria International Passport by phlakkeys(f): 11:45pm On Jan 12, 2023
My Personal Experience as a DIY Applicant at Ibadan Nigeria Immigration Office, Bus Stop, Agodi Gate:-

On Sunday, I collected the Guarantor's Form and Passport, from my guarantor which has been filled, signed and thump printed.
On Monday my capturing date, I went to High Court at Ring Road (8:07am), paid #1,100 and got the Guarantor's Form signed and stamp by Commissioner of Oats and left(8:30am).
From there, I went to my office to sign in, print online payment receipt and application form, do 3photocopies each of all my documents, and went to NIS office (11:30am).
At the gate, I told them I came for fresh online capturing and was asked to go to Front Office.
At the Front Office, I was given Application Verification Form to do 1 photocopy and that I should come with white file, and 1 plain A4 paper.
I went out to do the photocopy and collected plain A4 paper @#100, and bought white file @#100.
I went back inside and the woman at the Front Office asked me to follow a sample of the Application Letter for fresh application and collected the following and arranged it as listed below:-
2 Passport Photograph
1 Written Application Letter
These were stapled in front of the brown file given at the office which is being used for online (DIY) application.
Inside the brown file:-
1 Filled Application Verification Form (given by them)
1 Appointment Slip Print Out
1 Marriage Certificate Photocopy
1 Certificate of Origin Photocopy
1 Birth Certificate Photocopy
1 Guarantor's Form completely signed and stamped (both pages) Original Copy
1 Guarantor's International Passport Data Page Photocopy
1 Guarantor's NIN Slip Photocopy
3 International Passport Payment Receipt Photocopies
3 Standard Passport Application Form Photocopies
And she kept the file with others while she asked me to go and sit under the shed.
Those who didn't DIY were being attended to and we DIY were just sitting, doing nothing till around 4:30pm, when our file was brought out and we were called to collect our files and take to Account Office.
At the Account Office, we were told to come back next day because they are already closing but we were later attended to when some people who aren't DIY came, so they didn't have choice than to do it together.
From Account Office, we were asked to go to Verification Office where Interview will be done but the Officer in charge has already gone home, so our file was kept there and we were asked to come back any day we are chanced. Left there around 5pm.

On Tuesday, I went straight to the Verification Office for Interview (11:38am) and the man attended to me immediately after being told how we waited for him on Monday.
He asked of my name, where do I work, and sited Original of my Marriage Certificate, Birth Certificate, Local Government Certificate, asked about the relationship between me and my guarantor, signed and stamped my file, kept it with other files and asked me to go back to the shed.
We DIY were left unattended to under the mosquitoes infected shed until 3:13pm when they were done with others and they came with our files, to call us for capturing at the Enrolment Office.
It reached my turn at 15:49pm and I was told NIN Verification Failed, and since there was no network from NIN site, we should go home and come back next day.

On Wednesday, I had to go early since I've noticed they normally have NIN network problem in the afternoon.
I got there 8:50am, and went straight to the Production Office where they normally correct NIN verification issue. I was asked to search for my file and dropped it in front of the officer in charge and went back to the shed.
Under the shed, an Officer was briefing us about the procedure and I noticed they were collecting names of those that came with children, pregnant women and elderly 60+, so they will be attended to first, while they were having their parade on the field.
I tracked my application online and noticed that it has changed from NIN "Verification Failed" to "pending for NIN verification"
NB:- As at the time I registered online, October 30, 2022, it was at the point of (NIN Verification has failed, please proceed to the passport office for correction). When I noticed this, I quickly went to NIN office to do my change of surname but the tracker was still on NIN Verification Failed till the 3rd day of capturing January 9, 2022.

Immediately I noticed the change at 10:06am, I went back to the Production Office to ask the Officer in charge of NIN Correction and he told me my file is already at the Enrolment Office for Capturing that I should go and wait under the shed till they will call me.

As usual, they were busy calling their own and left we DIY.
When it was 11:12am, I was already having malaria symptoms and also needed to resume at work so I went to the Production Office to see who I can speak with and luckily for me, one top Officer asked what happened, that he has been seeing my face since and why was I looking sick? I explained everything in details to him sobberly, and he commanded some officers to search for my file and asked me to sit and wait for capturing.
I got captured by 2:14pm and was given a paper having the capturing date, my name and code to photocopy and the original was collected and kept in my file.
We were not given collection date, though someone that asked was told to come back in 2months.
I met other DIY and advised them to go and beg the same man, but they came back saying he asked them to go and keep waiting that they all will be attended to which usually is after attending to all that didn't DIY.

The tracker has already marked Production-Passport production is in progress.
And waiting Passport Issued-Passport pending production.

Are you doing your International Passport by yourself in Ibadan office, kindly follow this step for smooth experience:-

* Go a day to your capturing at any time of the day just to arrange and submit your file.
* Then go the next day, which should be your capturing day before 9am so that you can hear your name in the first batch and quickly take your file to Account Office, do Verification/Interview.
* Pray you won't have NIN issue; this you will know, when you track your application online.
* Then wait till they are done with their contract applicant around 3pm to 4pm if they ain't much or 6pm if otherwise when you will be called for capturing.

If you ain't having NIN issue, you will do your capturing that second day, but if you have NIN issue, you will need to go the 3rd day early morning when there will be NIN network to correct the issue, track online to be sure the NIN has being corrected, go to the Production Office to confirm that your file has gone to Enrollment room for capturing, then go and play and come back around 3pm when they will possibly have time for DIY to do capturing.

Should you plan to do everything on same capturing day:-
* Go to the office before 8am.
* Go to the photocopy stand and buy the white file,
* Come with A4 paper and ask for a copy of the Application Letter and write it.
* Ask for a copy of Application Form and fill it.
* Arrange your file accordingly and take to the Front Office.
If you are lucky and fast enough, you will be called with the first batch i.e. those that came before that day to open file.
* When called to take file to Account and to Verification/Interview Office, don't dull yourself and make sure all original are correct and ready for siting else, you may need to tip or be asked to go get it.
* When you are done with interview and under the shed, track your application and hope it will be on pending for NIN verification and not NIN verification failed.
* If you have no NIN issue, then go and play and come back around 3pm when if lucky you will be called for capturing.

NB:-
No eye lashes (you will be asked to remove it though)
No white shirt (you will be given their shirt though)
No rough hair (you will be given comb though)
No big hair style (you will be asked to go and loose it)
No oily face (you will be given powder though)
No neck chain (you will be asked to remove and can use back after though)
No need to overdo Photocopies of documents (you can keep the remaining though)

White file is for their applicant and brown file is for DIY.

You can track it online to see if NIN Verification won't fail.
If it fail, you will need to get your file quickly to the Production Office where NIN Verification is been done to correct NIN early enough before going for Enrollment/Capturing.
If the issue is with name or DOB mismatched, you will be asked to go and change it at NIN office, if not, they will do the correction there.
Normally, it is during capturing that they do detect NIN issue and they will refer you to NIN Verification Office and DIY won't be called for capturing until later hours of the day when there will possibly be network issue or those in verification office would have closed thereby requiring you to go back the next day.
The process is:-
* Front Office for Opening/Arrangement of File
* Account Office for Checking and Signing
* Verification Office for Interview
* Enrollment Office for Capturing
If there is issue with NIN Verification,
* Production Office for NIN Correction
* Back to Enrollment Office for Capturing.
