For example, the life expectancy of an average man in Nigeria is less than 60 years. You have to be alive first to spend money.

I live in the USA. I have friends and acquaintances who've been cooks, janitors or taxi drivers for over 20 years. They own good homes with 24hr running water & electricity. Go to their houses and you will see 4 or 5 cars parked there because ALL their teenage children each has a car. It's safe to say such jobs can't get such a living standard in Nigeria.

Nigeria is a poverty stricken country. I hope things get better there, but lying about it will not change reality.

My children have a higher likelihood of becoming President of the United States than any Igbo has of becoming President of Nigeria.

If even the rich in Nigeria settle their children abroad, go for medicals, vacation etc, abroad.
Why should you advise the poor and the middle class to remain in Nigeria?

Do you think driving a bullet proof vehicle of N150m with 15 MOPOL, with 2 standby generator working 24/7 in your house is being rich, while your children cannot even live with you but are living in Cyprus in a 2 bedroom house with 24/7 electricity, one small Toyota none bullet proof car with no police escort whatsoever?

I don't know why people who have this kind of money prefer to waste it on travelling arrangement and start working two, three jobs 24/7 abroad in extreme and unfriendly weather couple with loneliness for singles. Is that a life to envy? Never!

When u japa, before finally settling down over 35% of your money will be gone, after you settle more percentage will go for tax and services, here someone can humanly help u there your money will humanly help u ..good part is when you get a job.. unlike Nigeria u can't set a business easily there, it depends on where you're going to Sha, but you'll need alot of paperwork, you'll eat what you can afford not what you want and that's just to save cash as it's coming in....good thing about going out there is you can run online jobs easily (depending on the country you're japparing to). If you're someone who could play piano or musical instrument, you have an upper hand more than someone with a degree there...here your 10million can decide to follow our economy or our wahala, either way there's still a way out, anything you see someone doing for long that u know as a business like selling palmoil for instance, or any non perishable edible stuffs, ask them how business is going, they'll say they're running at loss but they'll always be running the business which means there's a thin line between their sincerity and hidden business secret as it is one of the ethics of trading, think about why people who say they're not seeing profits and still going for the business.... there's something, find that something.....you'll realize that something is profit, now multiply it with 1/4 of your 10million .....see for your self is japa worth it or
that "something" is worth it...

Running a business in Nigeria is no joke. The economy is stagnating so I don't know why anyone would think the PROBABILITY of success is high. That's the reason demand for migration is very high.

You can't invest your money now in Nigerians unstable economy.. petrol driven businesses are crying cos of cost of petrol, diesel, firewood price have increased and no employer is increasing salaries.. before Peter Obi will stable the economy, it may take almost 6 years of his tenure and imagine what you'd gain in dollars outside the country.. you'll thank your God you made that decision...

When I moved back to Nigeria, I had occasion to discuss this business. Yes, there's money in it, but it's not like it has fantastic margins. I'm from Nkwerre, Imo State I have family friends in the palm oil business. They own trees and have what you might call a vertically integrated operation. I can assure you they're not making out like Dangote. In any case many of those farmers, their children are migrating to Europe and the USA. There must be a reason.

Anyway to each his own. It's funny that anyone thinks ₦10 million bestows good odds for business success in Nigeria. Hmmm. Well, good luck to the OP. You've read the all the advice from anonymous strangers, good luck whatever you choose.
