Why haven't they traced the millions of Nigerians stolen moni?

You complain too much..

That’s why E-naira is there ..

Transfer to your E-naira wallet , make payment .

It’s going to be instant Because it’s using the same network protocol.

Everyone will start using their E-naira for day to day transactions, while you do other major transactions with your bank..

It’s only for a while and , it will soon get mass adoption.

Normally nobody loves change , it’s painful and annoying

I support your idea. Kenyans use same, it's called Mpesa. Most small biz owners make use of it, infact it helped me alot on my 3 months vacationn there.

Unfortunately this admin has made transfer come with a charge of n50 per transaction. For commercial transport this is absurd

This is actually where a smart fintech would come up with a payment or maybe subscription solution where these danfo or keke napep can be paid from.

I am sure these already exist in India or Bangladesh or Pakistan

Very good. Eventually, everyone will key in. It would be painful and inconvenient at the beginning, but we'll all come round after a while.

What a dumb comment. This is why nigeria is where it is because we have more people like you roaming the streets. Will cashless policy provide employment, security, fuel and electricity? Is that what will tackle inflation? Did it take 3 months for advanced countries to start cashless policy? Why the hurry to impose this policy? How long did it take for ATM to be generally accepted by the banking public? Was anyone forced to use ATM?

Exactly the challenge. Nigeria unfortunately is not yet ripe for that type of transaction. Someone transfers money to you and you won't immediately receive a credit alert because of bad network. The alert may even enter a day or two days later. How would the cashless trade thrive then?
Take anything you see now.Na the country !

Without even an attempt at transfer, the JBY inscribed on that tricycle stands for Jibiya, an LGA in Katsina.

Do you really need this? The currency redesign does not affect N100 and N50 notes. Just store a lot of N100 and N50 notes in your house. Redesign or not, you're not affected. Many of you don't have any business with N1000 notes to be honest. Those who need your N1000 notes can also accept transfers and cards (POS).

hmm, think say na only me get this idea. me wey don stash up to 30,000 naira in notes 100 naira and below. issue be say due to stories I hear, I neither want the Old or New notes. Thanks to nature of my work, I'm indoors 99% of the time. POS / Transfer takes acre of a lot. The stash is just for extreme cases . That should outlast the time needed for relevant stakeholders sort themselves out. No be me spoil Nigeria, so I no fit wahala myself extra.

I don't think this is a wise decision he will run his business at lost, before getting or been credited from an online transfer sometimes 30mins you never see alert, you may end up carrying only 10 passenger all day thats even you meet 10 passenger..

NB....I think banks should push more 50 and 100 naira into circulation, any business from 1k up can be paid through bank transfer..

what about those who don't have or use bank accounts ? Dem plenty Oooo. Even those wey open Free bank account for street, BVN or something else don render the account useless

Since you say you want to make a foo^l of your self..

Let me embarrass your empty brain…

Cashless policy was introduced in Nigeria by CBN in 2012. That was why I asked you again if Cashless policy was introduced 3-months ago, but you were too dumb to provide any logical answer.

And yes, cashless policy will provide security. Criminals will no longer demand cash because they know it’s near impossible to have it as it’s very limited in supply .. if they opt for transfer , it will be easier to trace them.

On employment . Yes , it will bring employment, because a lot of fin-tech will key into this policy and create a robust financial infrastructure that will cause employment. This will also make escrow accounts possible for e-commerce , gradually phasing out the wicked cash-on-delivery option that has sent many business crashing. As powerful as Konga, it could not survive. Jumia for 5 years , never posted any profit.

For fuel and electricity, the same process applies. I am sure you have heard some governors were paying salaries and contractors with cash looted .. The way the system is now, large cash will be logged which will be an easy way for EFCC to pick criminal elements in government. When payments are done by transfer , it’s also easy to audit records for financial misappropriation.

The CBN policy attempts to make stealing no longer fun and easy. When this happens, monies that could not be stolen because it can easily be traced will find its way back to infrastructure.

Why the hurry to impose the policy? You had 2012 to 2022, what did you do with it?

As Buhari said , 3 months is more than enough to deposit your old currencies. And I say again, it’s more than enough.

If you are not happy, don’t que up in the bank latest Monday to deposit your old currencies.. wink

Think say na by to blow gramma online. You fit blow gramma and still no get sense. You are not the first I have seen 🤣

Let them keep wailing instead of adapting to change.

Like this, I have 3k in N100 denominations sitting in my TV Stand... Going to work today, I will take 5 notes of N100 for transport.

Nigerians are generally not as smart they think they are.

Same thing I did, I have stack of 100 notes for petty things .. Bigger things na transfer till everything settles..

Many Nigerians are not really smart as you said.. If you give them spoon, they will still ask you to use the spoon to feed them ..

I can confirm that Banks have new notes, but they want to keep selling it to money changers to make profits hence the Balablu about not having the new notes.

Typical example below. New notes being sprayed at a party

Exactly... The problem is the bank managers selling to politicians and money changers. CBN has dispensed enough money to go round but the bankers are working with politicians to frustrate the process.

CBN needs to make one a scape goat by suspending their license for 6 months and see others sit up

It will be better if ATM start dispensing 50 and 100 naira notes for transactions below 3k.

As it stands even 100 naira and 50 naira are now scarce due to the unavailability of 200 naira not and the uselessness of 10 and 20 naira notes.

A better solution will be for most business owners to adopt POS machine.

True. Everyone needs that POS. For more effectiveness, the CBN needs to ban charges on POS transactions that are less than 5,000 so everyone can tap into the system.

It doesn't make sense to pay charges on 1k POS transactions. Nobody will like to use cards for such transactions.

And here is my main problem with this cashless economy thing. It will create more problems in this society. I'll avoid it as much as I can. I haven't received alert for the transfer from my brother sent to my first bank account since Sunday. I only believe the money is there because I got the email alert. But you can imagine the potential calamity.
