Sure, I'll give you a quick overview.

1. The top private institutions that give need based financial aid: Ivies, MIT, Duke, WashU, UChicago, USC, liberal arts colleges like Amherst and Williams.
2. Other private institutions that don't necessarily give need based aid but have one or two big merit scholarships: Villanova, Hendrix...
3. Some public institutions (note that the vast majority do not give full scholarships at the undergrad level): UNC, University of Wisconsin-Madison, schools located in southern states like University of Alabama, University of Southern Mississippi and University of Kentucky
4. HBCUs

The key is to not only to search for schools that give "full scholarships" but also schools that "meet full need".

What do you do to tackle the concerns of the visa officer on your gcms note stating that the purpose of visit is not a reasonable expense, despite having work experience relating to what you intend to study,is it advisable to change the course or throw more light on why you would want to study the course?

Hey guys, I want to know if anyone here has gone for F1 visa interview earlier than 120 days to beginning of program. How was it? Was it issued or denied? If anyone also has an idea of someone who’s been in said situation kindly let me know. I have this candidate who was issued admission for Spring 2023 but unfortunately couldn’t get a closer date so differing to Fall 2023. But the thing is, this candidate’s appointment is about 150 days before program start date. Please anyone who’s been in this situation or know someone who’s, how did it go? Thanks all.

The person can go ahead, the only clause is if the person is approved, they won’t issue the visa immediately they’ll ask the person to either drop their passport, or send it in via courier services (DHL) within the stipulated time.

Gurus in the house please is it ideal for someone whose admission status reads "Program review in progress" since October last year to write to the department graduate program coordinator intimating him that he has been able to add to his publication lists having published two articles after he submitted application. The person's intention is to boost his chances since it seems he has been wait listed

Why not? Do anything legitimately possible to strengthen your case.

Hahaha.. This is what I talk about.

It was a 150 dolls and it put people off. All good... cheddar is not easy anywhere. Then we hear that it's free, but see the number of interests it is piquing.

As I'm picking up as well, applying to the more competitive programs, has also been made tougher. So far, someone has mentioned BioMedCAS, another, EngineeringCAS, I did BusinessCAS and have also seen SOPHAS ---- all centralised app systems that compulsorily request for stuff like WES, test scores, sometimes publications and the works, before ushering candidates ahead to do supplemental applications at the schools' websites, costing even more, typically.

But the beauty herein (amongst other advantages) is that, these bumps and stops, put..people..away. And it gives those who do not ordinarily have a fighting chance, one...

We also hear ChiBertha talk about GA openings scattered about her campus, don't we? While I'm yet to get to where I can confirm this, it's a given that the sail would be smoother than many others, that do not utilise such systems.

I'm not old oo, but I know some wise sayings. And this is just my cent please, not an invitation for anyone to come join me in a WWF ring.

This was my exact same CGPA, I got direct PhD admission with funding in 2013. I think it should still be a competitive CGPA. My GRE score was 312 if I remember correctly.

my aunt is a US citizen and she is my sponsor for admission to Australia. The university is requesting details of my sponsor's 2 year tax returns. But she is finding it difficult to release her tax details. So I want to hear from those in USA to know if it is possible for US citizens like my aunt (federal employee) to request for her 2-years income tax returns from the IRS to be sent to my aunt's email address.

Go ahead and apply. Once you reach the stage for payment, there will be down arrow to download the document. Do that, and upload on your Marshall University app.

Also, send a mail to admission unit about it. There is also a possibility of them downloading it directly from their own backend.

NB: This scenario is for EngineeringCAS. I have no idea for other centralized system for other faculties.

Over and out.

no, my aunt lives and work in USA (she's a US citizen) and she's my sponsor. My Australia school is requesting my aunt to show her income tax returns of the past two years to prove that she's been complying with her tax obligations in USA as a condition for an unconditional admission offer. Can she obtain her tax returns copy directly from IRS by email? In what way is a tax returns normally presented to a US citizen?

I already am applying, but that's because I know the kind of profile I'm working with and know what I want. Promises are not my problem at this stage..I have two of them. I just can't fold my hands and put all my hope in them. I believe though that if you have all the docs, you are already more than half way across.
