He left a team that was tailor made for him to a team in shambles. Nathan Jones, Southampton's coach, has to be sacked after this game. A goal + a man advantage and you still lose.

The Onuachu move didn’t sit well with me. May be premature to say after 2 games, but I don’t just feel it will work out.

So proud of Nathan Tella. Shows you what the right system and a coach that has belief in a player can do.

Remember the news of Kompany discussing with Nathan Tella on multiple occasions before his move to Burnley. Showed Kompany was sure of his promise.

I hope Kompany also snaps Samuel Edozie from Southampton. The young man deserves better.

Lol... Leave those naysayers.

Meanwhile, Iheanacho is AGAIN on an EPL Player of the Month Run, Dan.

2 games in February and Lad has contributed immensely with 2 Goals and 3 assists already. All leading to 6pts garnered for Leicester.

It's like March 2021 all over again. πŸ”„πŸ”„

I've always known Rodgers to be a very sentimental coach right from his Liverpool days... It was part of why I strongly challenged Thegoodjoe's "genius" tag on him...
Iheanacho helped him win the two trophies he has at Leicester...Helped him qualify for Europe too... Now,,helping to save his job...
He will still drop him to the bench later..

Luckily, Iheanacho contract is due to expire next year...that means he will be in the market this summer unless another contract extension is on offer...

Onuachu and Sulemana wan kill theirself for Southampton!
I am certain they are regretting that move now. lol!
A team that cannot cross the ball to a 7 feet striker! So pathetic.
All they do is play long ball to him from defence and expect him to win all the aerial challenge!
Onauchu was like what are these fvckers doing! lol!

I repeat, Rodgers is tactically a genius but his bias and sentiments holds him back. That has been my point and it has not changed. His sentiments hinders him of making the best of his genuine brilliant understanding of the game of football.

That is why I said Iheanacho can stay with him and develop tactically and move. Then use his tactical knowledge to shine.

Absolutely not!
Liverpool don't play cross and Inshallah football just because Robertson and Trent provide a lot of assists.... Gengepressing is the core style of the team. Although the pressing this season has reduced due to an aged midfield...
Onuachu doesn't press..he isn't mobile enough... Over the years, Klopp has used more mobile players in the no.9 role. Mane, Firmino, Salah, Origi, Nunez...

Now I see why strikers struggle in the premier league.
It is not because of its great defenders, but cos of its useless and mediocre midfielders!
EPL has the worst midfielders of all the top leagues in Europe!

If his sentiments hinders him from making the best of his tactics, then he is no tactical genius... A real tactical genius will abandon any kind of sentiment that would impair his team's performance.

The Onuachu at Genk was lethal ..if the one you watched today is struggling because his midfielders aren't productive, then sorry, he won't fit at Liverpool at all.. Liverpool's midfield is built to press, recycle balls and cover up for the overlapping fullbacks... Creativity is secondary... Onuachu would struggle unless he can keep up with the pace of the team...
