like I said, you all being broke and young is a summative assessment.

Broke for obvious reasons and young in age, mindset and exposure. I never had to nurge my wife to reciprocate in giving and etc even when we were dating.
Oga go and sit down one place. Naso una go dey talk like say woman na special being. Na your type dey give women moral to dey misbehave and entitled.

i still don't understand the mentality Nigerian girls have.
They love receiving all the time.
It is the olosho, call girl, hook-up mentality that took 3 decades to finally settle in the psyche of almost all of them so that even the ones yet unborn are already prepped to think like that.
Re: Why Is Valentine Day A One Sided Affair In Nigeria? by mmsen: 6:39pm On Feb 14, 2023
Nigeria? It is one sided everywhere. Valentine's Day is an import from the extremely gynocentric Anglo-Saxon world.

It's not surprising to we guys anymore that naija girls are self-centered, selfish, thoughtless, unappreciative, entitled bit*ches that feel that it's their right to always collect.

That isn't the issue here. Even if we are all just broke and young as your said, why should two people who truly love themselves leave the responsibility of showing love to one party always.

The idea of a man being a provider was inspired by the Holy bible and was for his household or immediate family.
The love of money and social pattern of ladies being approached has slowly allowed greed to creep into romantic relationships.
No mind that one.. Na idiot.. Sense no gum am

According to Britannica, Valentine's Day, also called St. Valentine's Day, holiday (February 14) is a day when lovers express their affection with greetings and gifts.

lovers express love with gift and greetings.
Why is it a one sided affair with Nigerians? Hardly will your see ladies giving gift and when they do, it is more likely to be inferior in value to what they expect and demand.
Stop blaming Nigerian girls, it is not their fault, this thing has to do with our Nigerian culture and tradition.

In Nigeria we don't practice gender equality from birth starting from our homes. We teach our male kids to become breadwinners from childhood and teach our female kids to focus on being pious, looking beautiful, learning how to cook, how to organize the home and how to complement the male.

If truly Nigerian guys want a change in all these, we must start from the family settings, starting from our individual homes by teaching our daughters, our sisters, nieces, etc how to be independent, how not to rely on men for anything, and then we must also teach the boys same and then the boys must be ready to play the roles we believe are meant for girls and not expect a girl that serves them food, clean their house, do chores.

Whiteman's culture no sweet lets not envy them.

Why our guys are complaining is because of bad economy as a result of successive useless leaders and failed governments like Buhari and APC that have made Nigeria a hell for young men.

If Nigeria's economy is booming with good jobs available for able bodied youths willing to work and business opportunities available for those willing to be self employed, believe me, you guys wont even complain about all these.

Blame Nigerian failed leaders not the Nigerian girls on this one abeg

It's because they think we can't do without sex.

Men, please listen, whether u are married or not. Let's make a resolution. Let's deny women sex for two years, let's see who will cry first. You will see that they will start crying 😭 and begging 🥺us with gifts. Please let no man touch a woman for the next two years no matter what, let's correct this anomaly please

Because pussy is a commodity here as with all 3rd-world economies

For 95% of Niaija girls, the only thing of value (or the most valuable thing they have in their lives) is their pussy; you cannot expect them to give it out free in the name of Valentine
