Tinubu and his mafia group are reputed for stashing stolen funds in ₦500 and ₦1000 naira denominations...

Releasing only the ₦200 note back into circulation is still an uppercut from buhari

Totally agreed with Bubu on this.

Governors and the judiciary are the problems we have in this country.

Cash and carry court of law...how far?

If we are not careful in this country, judiciary will burn this country to ashes. A time will come where supreme court Governors will be littered all over Nigeria due to corruption.

Bubu failed in 1984 and now again. Blame bubu? No but Nigerians that keeps electing the worst among them because of tribalism, illiteracy, mental laziness, foolishness, religion.

Nigerians are like children with short attention span. Politicians give them #2000 and immediately they forget their 8 years sufferings. They deserved their wicked leaders truly.

Yesterday I was trying to lecture people on the true meaning of "selling your conscience". If you took my 2k and voted for me then you sold your conscience. If after eating my money and vote someone else, you are thief and a robber. Stop saying it is our money. This is the trick satan uses to deceive you. This is why your curse becomes very useless to the politicians because you all becomes the same thieves, destroyers & robbers. You can't really challenged them to be accountable.

He's not fighting for the masses. You must be stupid than i thought if you believe this policy is going to curb vote buying or it's going to hurt Tinubu in any way. I don't think you know how powerful these politicians are. They already have the new notes stashed somewhere in their various houses.

If Buhari was serious with vote buying, he would have started in 2019 when the vice president was in markets in major cities sharing trader moni. I hate hypocrisy.
The old 200 notes would still find their ways to the politicians while the ordinary masses continue in their Lamentations.
Exactly! more suffering unto Nigerian masses

Now politicians will keep hold of old 200 naira notes and it will not be available to the masses. More protest coming soon. As for new notes, 6 months to come we can't get it bcuz of the materials cbn will use to print the money are not readily available

Senseless policy makers.

Is that not what they should have done at the initial stage?

Should not the N500 and N1000 have been the ones to be changed and mopped since they are the ones in custody of rogue politicians?

Emefiele, even if it is well with you now, it will not be well with your children and children's children.

How do you expect everyone in a state to go to one bank and return their 1000 and 500 notes. No insults Let's just reason together.

Sometimes if government want to work or do the right things in Nigeria they surely know what steps to take, this man knows truly well the monies stolen or hidden to buy votes by this governors are in 1000 and 500 denominations, and he completely want to destroy their plans, he knows 200 naira notes are most likely spent by the ordinary people.kudos to buhari on this one

How is the 500naira and 1000naira in custody of rogue politicians? Who are the rogue politicians? Did they cimmit any crime by keeping such monies? If they did, why should the govt now punish every nigerian instead of going after the so called rogue politicians?

So Buhari just confirmed this.

The old #200 notes will remain legal tender, along with all the denominations of the neq notes, until April 10. So the cash crunch affecting ordinary people will be eased.

But the old #1000 and #500 notes will no longer be legal tenders which implies that they will no longer be accepted by anyone altho they can still be redeemed at the central bank after filling some documents.

Like i said yesterday, Buhari obviously haa intelligence that the billions of old notes that some politicians kept for vote buying are in the #1000 and #500 denominations. It can no longer be used for vote buying again and they would even need to explain when they try to exchange it at the CBN.

This new decision is a master class. The APC Govs can no longer complain cos the "excuse" of the suffering of the people has been taken care of whilst preventing vote buying using the old naira notes

He has no integrity, they use the corrupt system to elect.
