I don't agree with this assessment. Many of Obi supporters are more youth and educated. But we tend to forget that the semi illiterate and full illiterate and those who vote on ethnic and religious sentiments still make up the majority of the voters.

Obi is not likely to have done much better than he did in the North as he had no presence there and no LP governor to push for him.

We need to realize that not all Nigerians are on social media. Social media is not a representative sample of the population. So all the overwhelming support for Obi on social media doesn't translate in northern states. It doesn't even translate in the hinterlands of SW states. Only Lagos which is by far the most online state with most of the youths.

And who is to say there was no rigging in the South East with LP winning above 90% in some SE states.

I think the result generally reflected the direction of the votes. The tragedy of this election is really that it's still being determined by the"masses" who really don't know why or what they are voting for, except for ethnic and religious lines.

The key thing against Tinubu was:
1. The Muslim - Muslim ticket (for the religious);
2. His mental and physical health to avoid a repeat of an absentee president, and;
3. The choice of his vice being a radical.

In a four horse race, the winner’s score can never be above the sum total of the three 3 other candidates. Hilary won the ‘popular votes’ but Trump won the ’popular spread’.
Secondly, some of us on the fence saw this coming from the beginning. 1/3 of X cannot be greater than X no matter how we keep increasing the X.
