Oh God I need your favor at this point of my life. I have 5 Msc admissions already but waiting for assistantship from my various departments.

I can't imagine being in Nigeria for another 1 year just because of unable to get assistantship. God knows depression will set in if I can't make anything out of the 5 schools that admitted me, after all the effort.

I will wait for my schools to decide but if they didn't give I will still find way and move.

I have booked my visa appointment for May already.
Account statement intact.

I'm using this post as a point of reference, and I'll quote it when I get an offer to thank God.

Assistantship will come, I believe in God's miracle sad

Have you reached out to professors in your program? Many of them may actually have funding offers that are not advertised on the department's website.

There may be other GA openings on campus that aren't in your department. You should comb your school's website and look them up too.

In the end, everything good will come.

Good afternoon, please I need a very quick advice.
I was admitted to the Claremont graduate University at the beginning of spring semester but due to the institution place to adjust the program to 3 semester, it was defered to August 2023 fall semester resumption.
The total tuition is $37,900
Scholarship is $18,000
Trustee scholarship is $5000 yearly.
I have my personal funds in my account to the tune of $55,000 in addition to the scholarship of $18,000.

Please should I go on and accept the offer, send my affidavit of financial support to the school to receive my I-20 form for the visa application.
The total cost of attendance and the minimum amount is $63,0000 cost of attendance including dependents and I already have$73,000.

Can I proceed with my dependents, wife and 2 kids or I should go first and should I include my dependents in the affidavit for the I-20 form or I should go first??

Please kindly assist my classes begins in August.

Interesting
CreativeWeb:

Northeastern Illinois University has Msc in Biology. GRE not required. GPA of 3.0 required. Scholarship is available. You can apply anytime of the year.

There are schools in US that are looking for students, even if you have third class. Just spend time and Google.

If you search and shortlist at least five schools and send email to the department or the professor you will like to work with, and apply, you will get great offers.

These things are not rocket science.

I'm getting ready for my PhD in the US. I sent cold emails to professors of five schools. I got response from all of them. I have had Zoom virtual meetings with three of them. Live video conversations that lasted up to an hour per person.

Just make your research. Northeastern Illinois University even accepts CGPA of 2.75.
Please can you help with a sample of cold mails you sent?

Thanks in anticipation

I would go with my B visa and do change of status from there. Since you have comfortable place to stay go and wait it out.
My opinion though

How does this work? I thought most public colleges would not accept international students if they dont have F1 status… unless in some states like CA and co that dont care about your immigration status, but u must pay out of pocket?

Ask your graduate coordinators, they’re in the best position to give you the most accurate answer.

Depends on your finances. Do you actually have the funds to cover a $50k deficit? Can you prove it without doubt to the VO?

No, but my fear is for it not to complicate things for me on my second interview

Hello house, please hope dependents (spouse and children) I-20 request along with PhD applicant will not affect approval of visa
I really want to know the correct word for this: is dependents or dependants

It's possible you get F2 and she gets F1 but I'll advise you handle things by yourself, agents are known to always do illegal things for people, ensure to apply to a good and known school, don't leave everything to the agents table.
