If you want to understand these Igbo Agbero concept of charging people with goods for crossing bridges

Go to any Igbo dominated market especially Alaba, try link Alaba from Okokomaiko around okoko police station axis , Pako bridge... You see live and direct what Igbo Agbero do to Igbo traders in Yoruba land

Everything about them is hypocrisy

.

I know those bridges. There are two pako bridges there

While agberos are a menace in Onitsha, some or if not all of the stories are exaggerated.

Meanwhile Soludo promised to fix the issue but he's currently busy writing letters to Obi.

When you hear stories about huge IGR, this is how they're made. The boys have to forcefully make the money to pay their bosses who already paid for the slots to the government
Lagos transportation union workers only focus on danfo drivers, but Onitsha agberos are thieves preying on innocent citizens and civilians. Onitsha agberos are criminals.

What did he do when he was governor to stop this menace is the question. Don't act stupid.

When your drug lord was governor what steps did he take to curb agberoism in Lagos state? If not recruiting more to do his biddings?

Agberos in the East are the worse of the worst. The main reason Igbos are shouting about those in Lagos is because they see them as threat to their occupational ambitions in Lagos. Since Most Yorubas are forming wokes and don't really care about their heritage or any legacy for unborn generations again. Nothing like self preservation, many Yoruba youths are lost and unfortunately Yorubas don't give birth to many children again but want to be too liberal in the midst of devilish hypocritic and unliberal tribes.

There was a day I alighted from Enugu bus at Onitsha south bus park with my luggage, agberos demanded I must pay charges before a wheelbarrow guy could carry my stuff. I paid twice, on our way to Peace park another sets blocked this guy for about two other tickets which I had to pay. The wheelbarrow guy said if he passes there hundred times, the owner of the load must pay these different sets of touts. The funny thing was that you would never see easterners complaining about these but in Lagos they're forming Americans.

Hypocrisy is when APC îmbeciles codedly ignore the fact that an attempt was made on the life of a frontline governorship candidate in Lagos state but instead bring up topics about agberos in Onitsha grin Onitsha that they can never point to in a map of Anambra grin
At least, the Anambra state government has been seen to be doing something about that menace but if you ask megacity people about their own agbero menace, you'll be surprised that the social miscreants who normally should have been steered off that course via qualitative education and skills acquisition from day one are instead openly frolicking with the powers that be with their blood stained hands. Centre of excellence o grin You think Igbos are your problem and that's why you're laughing at the speck of dust in their eyes instead of removing the log of wood in your own eye. They would put a plank across a drainage, charge you to use it or else jump over the drain or go and use onto the bridge, experienced this at upper iweka, Onitsha and Osisioma, Aba.

Agbero would ask you to pay because a wheel barrow is carrying your luggage.

The cases are even under-reported. I was going to Awka in 2020 and the bus I took from Ibadan only stopped at Onitsha. So, I got down from my bus and I just casually strolled to the express to cross to the other side. As soon as I crossed the gutter, I was accosted by some menacing-looking louts that I have to pay for the gutter I crossed. I was not even given an option to go back. I had to pay.

The Igbo agbero are by far the worst compared to Yorubas especially in Alaba, they almost deflated my tyre for parking right in front of the company I came to do business with even the owner was like how does his parking space concern you.

beardedboy:
Haa, South East thugs are the worst.

Broad daylight like this, these people will rob you in the market and their fellow Igbos will keep shut.

Dem no born you to press your phone inside bus for Onitsha market.

The time I travelled to East, it's from Ondo that people have been warning me to stay alert once we leave Delta and enter Onitsha, Anambra.

See heavy sticks with nails that their thugs were using to attack traders.

That was Onitsha óò. When I got to Owerri in Imo it was same story. Daylight robbery in Douglas Market, Owerri. Igbo man will sew slippers for you and tell you it's 4k. Oga, no be new slippers I wan buy na. Na ordinary to sew slippers wey cut. Even the new slippers no pass 2k. Before you know anything the Igbo guy will change it for you. He may attack you and even call you a thief. And his fellow Igbos will either watch as he abuses you or even help him in his evil (which they are aware of).

Nobody in my family had ever been robbed at gun point until my brother was posted by NYSC to South East. Guy had to avoid road transport completely and wait till end of NYSC to take flight home.

And the wickedness of Nigeria media isn't helping. Crimes in the south east are just too underreported. All these killing, kidnapping and beheading news we see from south east are just a fraction of the reality. Haa, that place is the most backward place I've ever been to on this earth. I'm not capping!

Election nkọ, people are asking Igbos to allow foreigners contest posts in South East. Lol, you should start from asking them to allow foreigners vote.

Dem no born your papa well as a foreigner to go out and vote. This last election my uncle told me that Igbos were threatening to punish all the northerners that left south east to vote in their home towns.

Of all people in this Nigeria, south easterners are the last you would expect to talk about agberoism. But then a wickedness and hypocrisy...
Re: Nigerians Share Their Experiences With The Agberos In Onitsha by bakynes(m): 6:46am On Mar 13, 2023
This thread should be an eye opener for Yorubas that don't travel outside the SW. Let no IPOB deceive you or make jest of your tribe because of Agebero in Lagos or Ibadan. Their own is far worst than yours. The igbos should remove the log from their own eyes first before trying to remove the log from the eyes of Yorubas.

All Igbos in Lagos should focus their attention on SE politics and leave Lagos Politics to indigenous Yoruba Lagosians.

The OP has never crossed the 9ja bridge. Na only JJC dey enter this one. Abeg shift. Talk some sense.

Agbero no dey onitsha.

Call it the native name. You cant use yoruba to call igbo boys in parks name.

In the east we buy ticket from nnewi to most part. There is more organization. Your pay all your dues in the loading point. No one stops the bus for main road except police.

Come to lagos you see things.

When people from south south and southeast come to lagos for the first time and the agbero on the road some will think its armed robbery.

Owo mi da-- where is my money.

You will hear
Owo chairman
Owo security
Owo turning
Owo iyawo chairman
Everuday they manufacture new reasons to collect money.
No organization or organic road transport.
Every is just raving mad

Why don't you stop the lying......Onitsha is far more dangerous than Lagos or anywhere else in the entire south.

I have had my mirrors removed in broad daylight at upper iweka because I refused to give agbero 5k for carrying goods in my sienna going to Owerri.......right there in traffic and everyone else were just going about there normal business like nothing happened.

I lived in awada, obosi road for 9 months and worked at otigba in Onitsha GRA and main market...... anything after 8pm,the streets are deserted and moving at night is a huge security risk.

Lagos agbero menace on the other hand is targeted towards commercial vehicle owners and as a private commuter they have no problem with you......you can be in Berger, ojota, oshodi, ojuelegba at anytime even mid night and nobody will harrass you.......if your phone gets stolen in oshodi,I can even tell you where to go report and your phone can be retrieved for you.

In the east it's a totally lawless place and I have igbo friends who will tell you they can never stay in Onitsha even for free.

Begging is organised business. Those Northern beggars owns houses amd cows in their villages, thry only come to the South courtesy of one Alhaji to do begging biz.
Begging should be banned like it was done in Kano.Anyone who needs financial asssistance should go to blessmi or gofundme.

The Agboro issues in the Nation differs... What is the local government chairman doing about it in their respective councils?
At times, we blamed the state government for no reason...
How many have we/you complained through the appropriate channels to call on the state governors attention to the Agboro activities in the state...
Most of them use names dropping to aid their activities from there they become popular and indirectly make themselves useful to the said government...

Just last year before Peter Obi, declared his intention to run for President, a lot of my colleagues here could not travel to the east as they usually do because of fear of IPOB, No election order, stay at home order on Mondays. They won't talk about that, its the one happening in Yoruba land that will concern them.
