Lakers need to improve on their 3rd quarter.

Against NewYork nicks today.. Lakers would have won

Detroit pistons have lost all matches so I don't expect this one to be any different. Indiana pacers for he win.

Also expecting Atlanta Hawk to run down Minnesota timberwolves

Getting outplayed and outworked by the freaking Rockets with both Js on the court. This team doesn’t inspire me.
Re: The NBA Begins by A40(m): 3:15am On Mar 14, 2023
Celtics have the weakest schedule left. They can still make the 1 seed

Hehehe. See these yeye tanking Rockets. They want to fix this game

The Rockets defeat the Celtics despite the refs giving the Celtics every possible call down the stretch. They basically told the Rockets, you're a small team and so you ain't getting any favours here.

Something needs to be done about Jayson Tatum's 3pt spamming

It seems that Bucks series and then the All star game has blud thinking he's Steph

Baba leave that thing. Did you see how we mismanaged the final seconds of the clock when we should be fouling to save the clock? The players once again looked confused and allowed the clock run down before fouling because there was no plan. Listen man, I will keep saying it, there are issues that are player related and there are issues that are coaching.

Mike Brown has done an exceptional job with this Kings team

Re: The NBA Begins by birdman(m): 2:23am On Mar 15, 2023
Hard to keep a 35pt lead in this league. I had already written off the lakers this season, but the team is clicking. I had written Laker off because Lebron led teams typically fall apart if he is absent. Partly its the way the team is constructed around him, partly its that everyone starts to unconsciously rely on Lebrons greatness to bail them out and they get mentally lazy.

Question now is, can Lakers make it to 6th seed and avoid the playins. The way the west is shaping up, I think 1-4 are pretty much set

I will start taking you Ajala stans serious when you acknowledge what you are trying to hide… You giys side step the obvious and I just laff.
AD just posted 35/17 and is pretty much leading a dead Lakers to the playoffs.

Word!

These cats think the Eastern Conference will hand them the key to the NBA finals lying down.

I miss Ime Udoka…
Re: The NBA Begins by A40(m):
Jae Crowder making the Suns pay. Too bad no KD to make this game more competitive

Giannis with a casual 36-11-8

Bucks now 3 games ahead of Celtics with 13 games left. Homecourt will be absolutely crucial between these two teams

The Lakers are not dead. They just set a franchise record with 15 3PT in the first half, which was the main thing that propelled them to the W.
Re: The NBA Begins by Honlucas: 8:16am On Mar 15, 2023
Kyrie Irving trade ruined Dallas. They were 4th before Kyrie and now they fell to the play in. It is basically modern day Rajon Rondo trade.

You're 100 percent correct. I wonder if there would be any GM dumb enough to give him a long term deal.

Lakers would be looking in hindsight that it was a blessing in disguise they didn't get him

And I was glad when they couldnt get him. A team with Lebron/AD needs a deep roster, not another superstar. The Lakers roster would have been depleted to make the trade, and Lakers would have missed even the play ins. How would they have competed vs even the timberwolves?

It always bothers me how tv analysts keep hyping names without looking at fit - its like, do they actually not know what they are talking about, or are they playing dumb to generate ratings.

Like I said earlier, there was no big superstar in he Laker's trade, just pieces that can work under a smart coach.

You have to throw away wins like this. 15 3s before the half is a fluke, and wont happen again. In fact it can work against the team, because you play lazy the rest of the game and carry it over into the next game. But they have a good coach, so I hope they can ride this emotional wave and string 2 -3 wins per loss.

That AD is just as important in this resurgence as other factors (trade, coaching and Ajala’s absence).

Was anyone ever in doubt of that? Everyone I know has been waiting for AD to takeover for 3 years now. Lebron looks like papa smurf out there lol.

Funny enough, he reminds me of how Pierce used to play towards the end of his career. Like an old fox trying to trick his way to the rim grin Pierce was strong and could have played longer, but I get the feel he wasnt trying to learn any new tricks.

I have been reading about trades and coaching since this run started with no mention of AD's role. Don't get me wrong, Palinka did an exceptional job with this trade, especially with DLOs return because he has developed his game and looks more mature. But make no mistake about it, AD is the focal point of this resurgence.

AD should be the focal point of the Lakers, period. But its no one's fault he is injured all the time. The leadership position is his, but he has to take it. No one is giving it to him - without Lebron heroics, the Lakers would be at the bottom of the WC. Give Lebron his dues. So if folks are not talking enough about AD, thats on him, or more precisely his injuries.

Same way everyone skipped Kawhi while he was load managing. PGIII has more credit for this teams success, even if Kawhi is supposed to be the focal point. I think you feel like Lebron is getting more credit than AD for Lakers resurgence, well that is the truth. AD has been in street clothes a looong time

I agree with most of what you said because he has been injured more than he has been on the court. However, the idea that the best player naturally translates into leadership, while great, is not necessary true. AD has been a leader from his high school day to college but I don't think he wants to lead in the NBA. I feel like he just wants to play basketball and not worry about the other aspects of the game like leadership. I think that mentality stems from being out of so many games it has made him mentally fatigued.
