Awolowo never sold the seed of discord your tribal army and tribal people started the mistrust we are experiencing now.

Go back to history 101 about elections in Nigeria.
You are talking about after the independence, but I'm telling you about pre- independence.
Let me help you a bit. Go to Goggle, search for History of Cross Carpeting in Nigerian politics..

The scars will remain. That Nigeria will disintegrate one day, is no longer a myth. How peaceful? We will find out.

They should simply return to Regionalism under a Parliamentary System…..the only way Nigeria can maintain a semblance of a United Country! cool cool

That's what happens when you present a candidate that tweets "Afonja" and is Anti-Yoruba.

Let's also not forget the partisan TV stations like Arise TV and some other social media influencers, that gave the "Lagos is no man's land" chant a megaphone.

The problem is that we have lost igbos, who want to salvage a broken situation. Like yesterday, let us lob a couple and possibly attack Ondo, but people want to catch cold feet. I hope they are seeing the consequences of no action. The islamics yorubas were killing people in buses and stealing the buses. They were shouting that Lagos is yoruba and killing igbo people everywhere.

Igbos shouldn't forgive these actions. The international community will help who help themselves. We have to fight back. Go to igbo sites and learn a thing or two. We should fight back. This is the same Nigeria we were forced back into by internal leeches and the international community. Igbo Christians should not bow to these islamics. We have to go extreme with them. The npf and sham forces are all complicit with them, so there is no trust with them. Go to igbo sites and learn on how to be a part of survivors. We should know that what we do to them might affect us. All essentials is at play. Let us fight for survival. We don't have to be ready proper. They have all Nigeria's arsenal at their disposal, but we have a thing or two that can be impactful.

we should keep mining the sea until they let us go. we have to build the port at ph. The islamics north and south will not rest, so we shouldn't rest. These people combined are not Russia or china, they can be defeated just like us.

How will they retaliate? Instead of you to advise them to be well behaved like other tribes living in Yoruba land, you rather talk about retaliation. You hardly see Yorubas and other tribes living in Igbo land, so if they foment trouble, they will end up being losers. They always want to dominate wherever they are, but can't tolerate other tribes. Yorubas are not fools, enough is enough.
Jnkay:
My take is what goes around comes around. When Igbos will hit us back we Yorubas should not complain. I know Igbos because they don't forget things easily and they will remind us all we did to them soon that is who they are. They will keep quite but they will eventually retaliate.

Tribalism is a serious crime in Rwanda. Nobody is allowed to discriminate based on tribes.

Constitution of the Republic of Rwanda, adopted and enacted 2003

Article: 11

All Rwandans are born and remain free and equal in rights and duties. Discrimination of whatever kind based on, inter alia, ethnic origin, tribe, clan, colour, sex, region, social origin, religion or faith, opinion, economic status, culture, language, social status, physical or mental disability or any other form of discrimination is prohibited and punishable by law.

Some people still dont get this. Maybe because they are very new to Nigeria politics or first time voters.

During the Presidential campaign. The candidate of the Labour party, Peter Obi exploited and explored our diversity, he capitalised on our religious differences in particular to instigate hate among the the two major religion we have in Nigeria. CAN, PFN turned themselves into a political group. Especially General overseers, they turned the altar into a political stage to preach politics and propagate hate against Muslim candidates.

Peter Obi's victory in Lagos during the presidential election wasn't just from the igbos alone but from 'some' brain clouded, emotional religious sentimental yoruba christ!ans who were sold with the Jihad bullcraps. After the victory, instead of building bridges, extending hand of friendship with the yourbas that voted against Obi, making them reason by drawing them closer and also at sametime solidifying the alliances with yorubas on their side already, that voted for obi. The southe@sterners, feeling pompous and inflated came with the campaign of 'taking over lagos' . .. They ran twitter spaces, host interviews aided by their propaganda media house, AriseTV, scribbles and tweets were churned out about how they will sack all the obas and takeover the whole place.

How can you expect the yorubas who sided with you against their tribesman, Tinubu in the presidential election to feel about it? Happy that you want to takeover their ancestral land and mock them with it in return, just like you use the word; 'Afonja ' consistently to make mockery of our loss in Ilorin.

Sanwo Olu victory was not as a result of tribalism. The yorubas fought together as one again, and they won. Different yorubas from different religion, political parties, and across all board left our differences asides at the corner, came together to 'rescue ourselves'. (once bitten, twice shy)

At first it was cruise, then it became aggressive, now it is uncontrollable.. Cant even be tamed nor can they reason well. It is all noise, zero thinking and strategy. The Obidient movement is turning out to be a curse to Peter Obi and the hardworking innocent igbos who committed no crime but paying for the sins of the headless mob.
This is the best write-up I've read in a long time. You captured everything since the beginning of the presidential election. This is exactly my thought

An Igbo man sees himself at war with nigeria.
They have been trained to see it that way.

2023 election is yet another open and clear stigmatization and marginalization that hits an IGBO person daily in the contraption called Nigeria

Igbos are OK to pay tax
They are allowed to contribute to the development of the host communities.
Allowed to be employers of labour, etc.
It's ok for them to be in involved in everything EXCEPT DURING ELECTION.

This is the reason the people of southeast is in Nigeria are talking about Biafra.
This is why they are agitating for biafra.
This is the plight of an Igbo person in Nigeria.

They told us our fathers were rebels.
They told us our fathers were trying to succeed from Nigeria for selfish reasons.
They told us many things that made Nigerians and their foreign collaborators killed and massacred a tribe for 3yrs.

Today we are comparing the story our surviving parents told us and what Nigeria told that led to war. And it looks and very obvious Nigerian government lied.

With what all of us are witnessing against this tribe, without being biased, do you think the people of southeast can confidently be proud to be Nigerians.
Today we are all alive to see why our fathers were provoked to declare biafra..

When you hear biafra from the mouth of an Igbo person. He really doesn't mean total separation or disintegration.
But he's talking about a system that can protect him and his business.
He's talking about a system that can worked for Musa, kayode and Emeka.
He believes the sky is too big for two birds to collide.
When you see an Igbo person talking about biafra, he's talking about a system that can guarantee his survival.

Right before us again(2023), An Igbo man became an indengered specie in the country he called home because of election.
I Know one day an Igbo man will say," I remember those days we used to be Nigerians.
Their children will read them on books and magazines.
I KNOW IT WILL TAKE TIME, PROBABLY MORE LIVES, BUT WILL SURELY HAPPEN SOMEDAY.

This is a very stupid statement from a shameless hypocritical fool!
So, it wasn't APC and their supporters that chose a muslim-muslim ticket in a multi-religious country like Nigeria that ''explored and exploited our religious diversity'', it is now Obi and other well-meaning Nigerians who stood against the jihadic agenda, right?
People who preached against the evil ticket considering the problems it is going to cause later on are now to blame and not the evil people who want to dominate others with their terror-inclined religion!
Can you see how hypocritcal you fools are?
Can you see why that country will never make any headway?
Let's see where all these tribalism, ethnoreligious bigotry, hatred and do-or-die politics will lead you and the country to

this is a lie from the pit of hell, there is no place where Igbo say Lagos is no man's land, what I have been seeing on the internet are famous Yoruba people reacting to the no man's land statement people like ffk, bayo onanuga, mc oluomo and others but can you point to any famous or not Igbo man who said Lagos is no man's land, you guys trended that statement by yourselves just to gather ethnic sentiment from your tribesmen, I am seeing people reacting to "Lagos is not no man's land" but I am not seeing anyone saying it let alone them being Igbos. You know how many times I have been called chinedu, or ipob or that tinubu would rule and conquer me for eight years as a bini man do you think I should follow you footstep by hating the yoruba's who want to conquer others too? The most divisive character was tinubu, obi never said it is the turn of the ibos, it was tinubu who went to Abeokuta and said it is the turn of the yorubas, and emilokan, it was the same tinubu who picked shetima as a vice just because he needed to access northern Muslims vote even when he himself is a Muslim, you tell me who is the ethnic and religious bigot now? The very same individual who insulted the Christian faith by feilding fake bishops

Simple. Always understand the history of your hosts. We know the story of Ilorin in Kwara State, a major Oyo city that was captured by the Fulanis. Yorubas never accounted for fate while preparing to retake their lands. By the time offensives were launched towards Ilorin, the British colonialists were already here and every war had to stop.

Some of these same Igbos crying today have been mocking Yorubas about Ilorin. I recall a dogged activist always saying "the Sumer people died, why did they die? They forgot their history!". These Igbo kids and some irresponsible adults resulted to mocking Yorubas with 'AFONJA' chants. It's all fun online until IPOB came, then much later the Peter Obi movement aligning with Atiku, and today with full Obi ElluPi movement.

To make matters worse, Lagos became a heated topic with the sneaky "NO MAN'S LAND" statements. Are Yorubas fools? Will Igbos take that kind of situation with the stated historical sequence above? Let's always view issues from the other side. The Igbos forced the hands of the Yorubas, many of who were proud OBIDIENTS.

Let everybody learn from this. Nothing good can ever come out of sheer disdain for MUTUAL RESPECT. Have emotional intelligence and respect other people even if their culture is primitive in your views!!!!

Lekomax:

Shut up, There are many threads here on nairaland that proves Peter Obi has been attending church services across Nigeria even before he became Governor. You on the other hand is a well known tribal bigot worse than a racist, a pray you witness racism to have a feel of what I am talking about.

Racism and Tribalism are two diseases education can not cure.

Thank you sir, but 80%of Yorubas rejected him, case close.

He's a Yoruba man, but we don't want him to lead us, is there anything wrong with that??

Can't your people just respect that??
if you don't want him to lead you fine but why use the Igbos as the fall guy to to sell your candidate? This is just wrong.

Retaliate for what exactly was any Igbo killed? More so they killed about 2 Yoruba people yesterday.. what is their business in Yoruba election .. imagine Fulani people trying to gather themselves to take over Anambra state ,..

My take is what goes around comes around. When Igbos will hit us back we Yorubas should not complain. I know Igbos because they don't forget things easily and they will remind us all we did to them soon that is who they are. They will keep quite but they will eventually retaliate.

Lekan you don't know Igbo ! You think they will forget this or forgive ! I laugh

Wait...they will review this ! This used to happen in North years ago ..You didn't ask why it stopped !

You guys are even lucky that no Igbo man died or was killed by your urchins

You guys are lucky ! Trust me !

Go back to history 101 about elections in Nigeria.
You are talking about after the independence, but I'm telling you about pre- independence.
Let me help you a bit. Go to Goggle, search for History of Cross Carpeting in Nigerian politics..
Cross carpeting to form another party is not tribalism, Ncnc was a political party formed by Herbert Macaulay he handed over to Zik. After Macaulay death Zik abandoned the nationalistic idealogy of the party and diverted it towards ethnicity domination.
