Ofunaofu: We all watch it live and at no point did he said that Yorubas are rascals , rather he was referring to political rascals such as Mc oluomo, Bayo onanuga, FFK etc whose actions, inactions and utterances during the last general elections can best be described as war crimes
There is no different between these rascals and Omar al Bashir of Sudan who was tried and jailed by the International Criminal Court (ICC) for war crimes committed in Darfur
did Iwuayanwu mention these names in his speech? Or you were in his mind to know who he was referring to
Yorubalandlord: The Chairman of Elders Forum of the Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, on Monday, described as fake news a report credited to him (Iwuanyanwu) that he said the Yoruba were political rascals.
Iwuanyanwu made this known to newsmen in Owerri, while dissociating himself from the said story; during his outing at Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s one year in office event in Awka, Anambra State, weekend.
The elder statesman said his statement was manipulated and circulated on the social media by blackmailers.
According to Iwuanyanwu, “My awareness has been drawn to fake news circulating on social media completely misrepresenting the statement I made at Awka, Anambra State, in connection to the killings, destructions of properties, and harassment of Igbo in Lagos during the recent elections.
“My statement was covered live by Arise Television, Channels, and many other electronic and print media houses.
“All Nigerians of goodwill who care should get the true transcript of my statement from any of these media houses.
“I want to make it abundantly clear that at no time did I make the statement credited to me by blackmail circulating on social media that Yoruba are political rascals as this was fraudulently manipulated.
“I want to warn all perpetrators of this fake news that it is a criminal offense to circulate fake news against a peace-loving Nigerian. For the avoidance of doubt, I am a senior citizen who has meritoriously served Nigeria.
“The seven Igbo-speaking states namely — Rivers, Delta, Imo, Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, and Enugu States — have also honoured me with the traditional title of AHAEJIAGAMBA NDIGBO.
“I am indeed the first Igbo man to be so honoured. As a professional engineer, I have been honoured with numerous merit awards including the institution of an annual lecture series in my name by my colleagues in appreciation of my contributions to engineering, science society, and humanity.
“I am the Grand Patron of many youth organizations in the country. Most of my close friends who have influenced my business and professional life are from the Northern and Western parts of Nigeria.
“For instance, I am the Balogun Babaguwan of Ibadan land. I have also been honoured with chieftaincy titles by numerous Yoruba oba.
“I am no doubt an honorary citizen of Yoruba land. I have many personal friends and staff of my various companies including directors who are Yoruba.
“Most of them played major roles in shaping my economic destiny, therefore do not have any reason whatsoever to in the Yoruba tribe whom I regard with great respect.
“What I did at the ceremony was to admonish Igbo who felt threatened by various attacks in Lagos that they have no cause to worry because there are no problems between Igbo and Yoruba.
“I, therefore, told them to stay in Lagos and go about their normal businesses. I did however mention to them that the attackers are political rascals and their action does not reflect the good relationship between Yoruba and Igbo.
“Having said this, on a personal note, I must comment as follows: I felt very sad that a Nigerian should be denied his democratic right to vote for any candidate of his choice because of his tribe.
“What happened to Igbo in Lagos was in the press and Igbo are very grateful to those distinguished well-meaning Yoruba, who spoke against the killings, injuries and destruction of properties of Igbo in Lagos only because they voted the candidates of their choice,” he said.
Trying to eat his smelling vomit If I did not watch it live and heard it myself I would say it is a figment of negative imagination. An old bigot just like most of them.
We listened to it over and over and over again because we didn't want to believe you could ever say such a thing and Yes You did
Your audience where even applauding You loudly
Your best defence is to say it was a slip of tongue or that you didn't mean it the way it came out
Channels TV did not edit or Manipulate the Video and the Words Spoken matched your Mouth movement perfectly
From what you typed, I know whom you support. In all you listened to him saying there's no issues btw Yorubas and igbos followed by the next phrase which you ppl are crying over now. For you fact that a lot you who claim to be educated know you didn't mean what you are all sharing in all platforms to achieve what aim is what I don't know. You won elections with tribalism instead of you to ask for peace despite having power, you are still dwelling in tribalism. Inside of you, you know but you are just following already biased influencers. Till today Bayo, FFK have not apologised nor taking back their words but you prefer to utter someones' statement just to prove some points. I wonder what Tinubu’s govt would become if he succeeds at the court
Someone that said in the preceding statement that there's no war btw Igbos and Yorubas. He was clearly referring to the thugs as the political rascals and not Yoruba nationality. How could he have?

You do not rationalize facts either this is 2023 or it is not. Nothing to debate He said it. The video is everywhere Why are you people so comfortable telling lies? At best He can say it was a misspeak occasioned by senescence or whatever He said Yoruba are political rascals and we will handle them The honourable thing to do is to say Sorry I made a mistake I ,I meant to say something else but my mouth and my brain were not coordinated, I wanted to say A but when I opened my mouth B came out. I take responsibility I apologise just like Seun did. That would be the end of it . The statement he released is dishonest To tell us to our faces he never said so is a lie and when the rest of you join in it shows that As a people you lack honour and integrity
To try to subtly suggest oh look at the preceding words you should know what he was trying to say is not taking responsibility. It is disrespectful

DMerciful: He has clarified that he was talking about the thugs who were using violence. Afenifere asked him to clarify, he has done that. Give it a rest.
All he needed to have done was say It was a mistake I am sorry Saying he never said so is insulting No.one can force him to apologise but you cannot force people not to feel resentful
This is at the core of how Ibos are perceived Never take responsibility and often dishonest All of you are rallying round to tell us he never said what we all heard when a simple I am sorry would've fixed it
You are bereft of comprehension. The message was well passed. He continually emphasizes Lagos Yoruba miscreants who harassed other ethnicities during the election on the count of tribalism.
Don't forget Iwuanyanwu remains
