oh okay. It was when someone said they were playing Peru today I noticed that did not play qualifiers. So that means only one team is getting out of the group right?

Nigeria vs Guinea 🇬🇳 Under 23. second leg The first half was goalless. I hope they will scale through. 45min left to play. I do not rate the coach since he was accused of bribery

This is what happens when national team call up is for the highest bidder.

Imagine calling up players from the English 9th division, a player from Azerbaijan 2nd Division just signed a few weeks ago. Players with no clubs.

Wouldn't be surprised if Salisu gets rewarded with another national team job.

Bunch of mediocres

Salisu Yusuf has taken our football 50 years backward. Ethnicity and religion have destroyed our football.

Just remembered when we played that afcon qualifiers where Chad had to drop out of the group so we couldn't even qualify as best loser. Dark times

No sir

Incompetence and Mediocrity has. We shouldn't bring ethno-religious colouration to the conversation. Gasau didn't even appoint these coaches, Pinnick did. They are simply just mediocre, let's leave religion and ethnicity out of it.

Hope for NFF is useless

The way out is to have actual footballers run that Federation. That is the only WAY IMO.

ANYTHING less than that is a waste of time, pulse rate and passion.

Consistent with failure and rewarded 3ice.

Do the nff even understand what that action alone portrays? That hardworking coaches should not bother sweating, afterall Salisu got it 3 times and he's not working or doing anything to earn such appointment.

Disaster Season for Nigerian Football.

Salisu did not take our football backward. Instead, the NFF wants to bury the young talents in Nigeria. They knew Salisu very well yet gave him the job hoping he would fumble, wobble & qualify. All national team appointments apart from Nduka Ugbade , the rest appointment is based on corruption and nepotism. From Paseiero to Falcons coach with this Salisu , all na scam.

playing football and administration are two different areas I'm afraid. There is no guarantee a footballer will run the federation better than this guys Sha.

To those that'll come here suggesting other Nigerian coaches as replacement for Salisu, do well not to forget their penchant for corruption; no disrespect but most of the home coaches weve known are loyal to 'egunje'. Some players have been bold enough to speak out.

Nigerian coaches should reevaluate themselves first.
The rot called Nff!!!!

But why did we trivialize an olympic ticket?

After the Afcon and world cup, our third playing ground is the olympics. Damn.

Hopefully, more Organized private sector clubs spring up so that they can be plenty enough to start their own league and split away from the NPFL. it was how the EPL was formed in 1992 when it split away from the FA first division league to form an independent league that became the EPL today.
There was a time we had a couple of big privately owned teams in 9ja, stationary stores, Julius berger, leventis united, iwuanyanwu, Abiola babes, ranchers bees, Union bank, acb, first bank, jib rocks, udoji united, eagle cement, ilesha breweries, Katsina utd (col aminu). And now we have Mfm, ikorodu utd, Remo stars etc. Somehow things haven't lasted similar to most other things. Hopefully the tide will turn for good.

This!!

This is the excuse that has made us to remain stagnant for decades. Federation abound with ex footballers doing just perfect and fine in running affairs. Yet we always want to pop up this excuse whenever we talk of a footballer running things? Haba now!!

It would fit better if we switched it to "there's no guarantee a non-footballer will run this federation better"

Cos that exactly is the most perfect fit for our football since 60s
