New NPC Census Training Date Set for 25th April

The National Population Commission (NPC) has announced a new date for the training of adhoc staff for the 2023 Population and Housing Census.

The training for emumerators and supervisors, which was earlier scheduled to hold on 31st March, will now hold from 25th – 30th April 2023.

The announcement was made during a workshop on census processes and operations held by the NPC in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. The workshop was attended by the Chairman and Federal Commissioners of the NPC, who discussed critical steps towards the success of the census.

Refresher Training for DQM and Specialized Workforce at State Level is slated from Monday 3rd- 6th April, 2023.

While Census Night is slated for 2nd May 2023.

Field work will start from 3rd- 6th May, 2023.

During the meeting, a member of the NPC Census Publicity Committee provided an update on the status of census operations, emphasizing the need for effective oversight and coordination of the entire process at all levels.

The committee also concluded on the census date, fixing it on the first week of May. The member stressed the importance of picking a proper date for the census, taking into consideration the religious activities that usually take place in April.

As the NPC continues to make preparations towards the 2023 Population and Housing Census, it is hoped that the exercise will be a success and provide accurate data for national planning and development.

1: All Applicants with pending issues are to report to the training venue because a separate list will be provided for the pending applicants for their approval .

2: NPC only want to work with applicants that will be physically present at the training .

3: I.C.T stopped approving because they are waiting for the training day because they know that not all people who were approved will show up for the training .so applicants with pending issues will be approved during the training .

4: You can attend the training anywhere you are you know that is closer to your location .

I saw these somewhere I don’t know if it’s going to be useful to anyone…..

This is for second phase, census training is divided into 2 phase. The first is starting on the 11th to 17th, there is no way we can learn about census in 5 days, people training us self were trained for 20days then another 4 days refreshed trainings.but what I don't know is if we are going to get paid for the 2 phase if training or just 1.

To those with Npc Pending Issues

Those with Pending Issues should exercise patience and make sure they participate in the forthcoming Training exercise of Supervisors and Enumerators at the LGA of the state as *Gate-crashers* as many will still be selected after the training.

Note: Text messages will be sent to participants indicating their venue and date of training. Moreso, names of those shortlisted will be pasted according to classes at different LGA where the training will take place.
