I remember back in the late 80s and early 90s when as a kid in Festac Town, Eyo Festival was done and it was a sight to behold. The festival for almost three decades have stopped at festac. I think it only holds at Lagos Island. Such a beautiful rare event.

If the film portrays Eyo Festival as bad, then the movie should be banned. That's a sacrilege to a culture people practice.

I doubt it is. What they should be doing is reorientation because Lagos has the highest number of drug addicts and Bombooclaats in the form of Alayes and Agberos.

What of all those fights? Is it also a misrepresentation?
Election period should say better. Someone had the mind to blind a woman: gangs of Lagos.

You call them hoodlums but they are the gangs of Lagos.

Sorry guys for all these, Lagos have been taken for granted for long in which they have been letting lots of various things slide. So these have always been used as a weakness to Lagos.

So this time around, they want to start taking actions against every wrong doings.

So guys if you want to enjoy lagos, make sure you are law abiding and respect their culture.

Oga, why ban a movie? It's not based on a true life story. It's all about creativity. There have been movies in which the US president was portrayed in a negative image but the White House did not ban such.

We should stop banning people from their creative expression. Let people tell their stories and if you don't like them, tell yours or don't watch.
FREEDOM OF EXPRESSION.

This film just disappointed me. It is so sad. All these young woke boys and girls could have done is get a feedback for review before releasing it. If you are tellling our story via film; we have a right to see it before you show the world.

All the offensive part must be removed and the real names used replaced.
I seconded.

Why I once told someone that the film will face a lot of opposition and criticism critic is. because that is how many most of them react anytime they see a film or any music that tells the truth or one that tends to enlighten the viewer or listeners to know the truth, they tried to ban it.
I said similar things concerning Monsters you made released by burna boy then , in less than three months after I said it that we had the Endsars issue .so anything that tends to tell the truth that tends to paint truth is easily gagged.

Now to say some truth I want to see it's not about maybe some cultural nepotism in tribal nepotism or religious nepotism do I have some reservation for the fact that they also use the Eyo being used but truth is truth.
The film opened alot of worms on how the government is encouraging touts and thuggery.

Majoring on minor!!!
From time immemorial, pastors and alfas have been portrayed bad and evil in several movies, does that stop them from being relevant to the populace and their respective sphere of influence? NO

So why all these unnecessary rants!!!

Funny enough, 80% of what is been portrayed in that movie is true

Are the promoters of the movie of Yoruba origin? I asked because I feel so sad if a Yoruba person can tell a story that misrepresent one of her cultures and traditions. What do you expect when youths of today are not being taught history in secondary schools and primary. The govt has a huge part of the blame for taking off history from school curriculum. Without history you can never know where you are from or where you are going to.

The first scenes I saw about Lagos as a kid.
Was the jungle justice they did to thieves who stole peanuts.....used to send shivers down my spine.
The second was the amount of thugs, destitutes and hoodlumps.
The third was the dirt and ghettos.

Lagos is a congested dead slump filled with aggressive mannerless beings walking around.
Animals in human skin.
Wild Wild West.

LAGOS (LAGBERO) IS IRREPARABLY DAMAGED..
THE SYMBOL OF LAGOS HAS CHANGED FROM 3 WISE MEN (EYOO) .. CHANGED TO COUNTLESS STICK WELDING TOUTS AT THUGS.

YOU WANT TO BECOME A GOVT OFFICIAL.... FIRST BECOME A TOUT.

YOU WANT TO BECOME A KING... FIRST BECOME A TOUT.

YOU WANT A PHD... BECOME A TOUT.

WANT TO BE A LAWYER & SAN..BECOME A TOUT & THUG.

NOBODY SHOULD BLAME THE FILM. THE FILM IS A REFLECTION OF THE REAL LAGOS OF TINUBU DYNASTY - LAGBERO

THIS IS NOT THE LAGOS JAKANDE BEQUEATHED TO US..

LAGOS IS NOW TINUBU'S LAGBERO.
A STATE THAT INCUBATES, MENTORS , ACCELERATE & SPONSORS EXTORTION, EXPLOITATION & RENT SEEKING, THUGGERY & TOUT.

LAGOS OR LAGBERO IS SYNONYMOUS WITH OFFICIAL TOUTING & THUGGERY BY POLITICAL AND TRADITIONAL LEADERS OF THE STATE.

Yes Lagos is known to be accommodating,a cosmopolitan city and economic hub but the avarice made some agents of divisiveness to submit to the whims and caprices and selfish political ambitions of one man who is desperate to be called Mr. President by all means pleasant or/and unpleasant.

ask yourself why the Eyo festival not done peacefully again... The recent eyo festival always end in violence... I witnessed at least 2 ...the one that scares me most was the 2017 Eyo Oba Elegusi done in onilan stadium.... After the whole show in the stadium.. We were going out of the stadium when rival Eyo group start wielding machetes and wounding themselves... Pursuing each other...we had to run and even Miss our bus parked close to the stadium... And we are running we heard gunshots as we approached the onikan hall another vociferous group faced us scratching their matches on the roads singing olomo kilo f'omo e, Oni a ro.....

You will realized that almost every culture in lagos has been corrupted by this APC government.. And any movie that is exposing this will be discouraged because that's the true.

Rest!

The story, all names, characters, and incidents portrayed in this production are fictitious. No identification with actual persons (living or deceased), places, buildings, and products is intended or should be inferred.

It is a work of fiction! If you all can worship and deify a drug baron, I’m sure you can overlook something as trivial as a work of fiction

But attacking Igbos on election day is not a mockery of your cultural heritage?

Like I said earlier I thank God the producer and director are Yorubas, if not they would have started another round of propaganda, hate and wickedness....

Your fixation on Yoruba people and their matters is not healthy for you. It doesn't even concern you or your tribe. Focus on activities from your state and tribe.

There's no comparison at all between Igbos and Yorubas at all please. Stop it.

Though, I haven't watched and don't think I'll watch the movie, if the sole aim of the movie was to portray the negative parts of Lagos, then the movie should be banned.

I don't understand how only the majority of a particular tribe and the mob are so happy about this movie.
