Marriage is great if you are with a fun, easygoing person who understands and respects you as a fellow human being would and should. Without that mutual respect for each other — not the onesided nonsense Nigerian men suggest their right in marriage — marriage ends up nothing but a cage for at least one of the partners, eventually misery for both.

If there must be a good union, then there must be tolerance and that doesn't mean you keep repeating same mistake all over because it's your life. I came to learn from you, likewise you from me, no Mr or Mrs perfect.

Simple words like, "I forgive you" can cover all your flaws. If you aren't ready please don't go into it.

A woman needs be loyal and respectful, if for case of hurt or pain, communicate with your partner where necessary at his leisure. Don't spark a fight when the heat is much, you can go out and take a chilled wine in the heat of fight, come back and keep smiling, then he or she will be surprised.

Always take your partner out, don't stay all 365 days at home or office alone. take him or her out and spend quality time together.


I have seen that having a good marriage is significantly dependent on the effort of the two partners.

Avoid telling people about your marriage issue except it's out of hand and ensure its the right people.

Settle your differences together.

Cultivate the mentality of working to fend your needs, there is nothing like house wife or else you will become irritating to your partner.
Especially if he sees you everytime at home and he is the only one fending for the family. you work is to cook and have sex.(Sister get a job even though it's sewing)

learn to appreciate your partner when he or she does good excellently.

Use your own money to buy something inorder to appreciate them ( I have seen a marriage that the woman is a boss in her office and earns more than the man but will never touch her salary to support her man, or family instead she keeps collecting money from him to buy her undies)

Learn to use your IQ, that if he spends on you, try to appreciate him not by paying back using sex but also reciprocate what he did to you in a different dimension with that you have told him you can support.

Do not always be on the recieving end, this is where most women get it very wrong.

Be prayerful.

As he goes to work wish him good luck, speak positive words to yourself.

Sing songs for each other (even if you don't like the song , just behave and maintain as if you like it)

1. I don't have a problem with Nigerian men. What I instead detest is the blatant lack of critical reasoning in processing life and living among Nigerians, including Nigerian men. It is disgusting considering many of these same were birthed in the information age.
