It depends.. if u see ur wife as a greedy individual it possible not to use her as ur next of kin.. I have seen situation where ladies attempt or even kill their husband because of wealth.. if one have a legal wife with good qualities that's the best.

The one that has proven to love him unconditionally. The one that has a higher motivation to see to his good side welfare.

There is no law about it, if you have a gold digger wife, who will quickly abandon your tender children and remarry at your death, it would be stupid to let her even know about your assets not to talk of being a next of kin.

There is different between Will and next of king. Next of king is a person to be contact in case of emergency or who will help you do what you can not do for yourself. Wives should be next of kin and also heir to their husbands' properties.

Make una stop this. She is his better half n she will find it OK to divorce the man when they have issues or little misunderstanding. Where is the place of forgiveness in the marriage. Is the money that's her problem or genuine love for her family. most africans dont understand the meaning of next of kin most people think it means the person to inherit your estate

The true meaning is the person to be contacted in the event of your death or the person in charge of dealing with your estate aka sorting things out, it has nothing to do with you having appointed to inherit

Usually this can be a blood relative or if married usually your surviving partner

Normally, it should be the wife, but if she's greedy and senseless, go for your child, but if you don't have child yet, then the mother if she's sensible too. Because woman na woman o, and the one that will be senseless will be senseless.

Gender war here and there. Your next of kin should be someone you trust, who can handle or run things when you are incapacitated or dead. If you think your wife is the best candidate , go for it. And if you think it's your mother, then why not?

This goes beyond blood! However, some mothers or wives are stark illiterates and may not be too smart to run things. In such a situation, it is better to use someone else. most people don't show their real behaviour during courtship, that's why it's after marriage u will start seeing some attributes that u have not seen before in ur spouse once they felt they have been secured. Though atimes one might have been seeing flashes of such behaviour but won't count it. A woman or a man won't show he or she is after ur money or wealth until u tie the knot.
