The question now is will he be the one to also pay for the food that the woman and her parents will cook when he and his people visit?

Its the duty of the bride family to cater for the grooms family visit. Thou the groom can just support sha.

Where I come from traditionally the brides family handles the costs of the introduction and the marriage itself. The husband's family are seen as guests while the brides family are seen as the hosts.

Though things are evolving now sha.

But for introduction the brides family should cater for the feeding, it's just few people.

Same thing applies during the bride price negotiations and the wedding.. Because we do two weddings where I'm from.. one on Saturday which will happen at the bride's parents' place and the other on Sunday which will happen at the groom's parents' house.

Each families pay for their own food and drinks.
