as long as he is in a western world and I presume America because of the desert climate,God has already made a way for him,imagine if he is living in Nigeria,that alone is one of 1000 ways to die.

You don't need additional permission to depart the US. the only desert like environment I have personally seen stateside is in Nevada and Arizona. This is story is set in one of the Arabia countries, UAE, Bahrain, Oman, etc.
