Heishere: Exactly. I know what I am paying is reasonable enough. I know a guy who makes a revenue of over N80 million per annum from waste management from the local government, his direct assessment tax was just increased to 250k even though he was also making an additional weekly income from event center business 1 Like |

emmanuelewumi:Pls I'll want ur input on this There is a valuation method I read about " fair price to book value" determined by return of equity. It says that the premium placed on book value is determine by return of equity. if the return of equity = cost of equity, the fair price to book value is 1 and if the return of equity is twice the cost of equity the fair price to book value is 2. How reasonable is this? |

Payunsin: Chams seems massively undervalued with a very low PE ratio, but its low trading volume and lack of regular dividends may not make it an attractive long term investment for now. I believe it may be best suited for "get in and get out" (GIGO) type of investments. Wapco could be a better choice, as it has a good track record, decent financials, and pays dividends regularly. Regarding Cadbury, an overvalued stock with poor ROE and dividends above EPS may not be a good investment. It's essential to consider the company's financials and earnings potential before investing in it. Japaulgold appears promising with positive signs of generating profits, but its negative equity, huge losses in the past, and liabilities outweighing assets are red flags. You may want to wait for further progress before considering investing in this company. |

emmanuelewumi:By the virtue of you creating job for government, and reducing unemployment in the society, the law permit you to officially skip all taxes only if your accountant/s are up to the task. All your expenditures, both at home and abroad should be ideally passed to your business/es. Only your staff should pay taxes. At the end of every financial year, your tax refund on verified business expenditure should be large enough to buy MORISON and MEYER over 5 years. |

stockish: Cutix operates a factory in Nnewi and specializes in the production and sale of electrical cables. Similar to Chams, Cutix is currently undervalued. Quick valuation estimating its fair value at 4.2 based on the last audited financials, but I don’t see it moving there soon because of low dividend payouts. The company provides consistent dividends. It's liquidity is relatively low and you may not be able to sell/buy easily. Towards the end of 2021, the stock price surged to 6 naira from 2 naira, but it eventually returned to its original value a few months later. Recently, there has been a slight accumulation of the stock. Overall, Cutix shows promise as a long-term investment, but it may take some time to yield results. 1 Like |

I just went through list of unclaimed dividend published by Nigerian Breweries. It had 1,970 names on it. The names are not arranged in alphabetical order. That is pure wickedness. It makes it very stressful to scan through. it seems there is no regulation on this type of things. |

The completion of Dangote Refinery, which is rumored to be completed in 2025 by a Chinese company, is not only facing significant financial challenges but also political obstacles. The refinery is already struggling to service a massive $700 million annual interest on its debt, and it still requires an additional $3 billion to complete the project. The Nigerian government had made a deal with Dangote Refinery to pay about $2.7 billion (i am not sure on this) in cash and crude oil for a 20% stake, but it has only managed to pay $1 billion, which it obviously borrowed. When President Buhari realized that the refinery was not going to start operations anytime soon, he refused to invest any more money. Despite the expectations that the Dangote Refinery would come to the rescue by producing petroleum products and thus reducing inflation, it is unlikely to happen. Therefore, the removal of petroleum subsidy will inevitably cause a new round of inflation pressure on the economy, leading to an increase in the cost of goods and services. This situation will have a ripple effect on the stock market. Most companies will experience a reduction in revenue, as increasing prices mean less sales, while some companies may experience an increase in profit-to-revenue margins as they adjust their prices to reflect changes in the economy. Many companies will see their Profit After Tax (PAT) reduced, which will be bad for investors. What do you think? Where is Oga Oracle, we need you to advise us on what to do next. 1 Like |
