Only God knows how many genuine young talent goes to waste in Nigeria every year just because some overaged failed footballers keep buying their ways into our age-grade teams.

At least, whether we win or lose, now we can beat our chests that we have real U-17s.

We only need to ensure that the process of selection is truly and purely meritocratic. Abba Bichi and his types (connection players) have no place in the team. Neither does any form of regional slot allotment or quota system.

Let the best play for the Eaglets.

This proves that the NFF knows how to identify and pick genuine young talent if they want to. But they used to come with useless excuses like "Are we their parents?" and "Na condition make am look like that".

Thank God for MRI. NFF has suddenly become good at sifting the strong-faced grandpas from the fresh babies.

I can't wait for a similar machine to be introduced for the U-20 and U-23 levels too. It would advance our grassroots football development by a thousand years.

This is largely the coach though. Nduka Ugbade is largely responsible for what you see in the U-17. Samw goes for Bosso and Salisu. The teams largely reflects the persons in charge. Give the u20 job to Fidelis of Plateau United and you'll see an entirely different team.

This NFF knows nothing about identifying n picking any genuine young talents or anything,

Left for NFF they would probably imposed their choiced players and sabotaged the whole process.
We are seeing this young faces mainly because of Nduka Ogbade and MRI,NFF has nothing to do with it

If true, then that's phucking wild grin

It seems like CAF are struggling to come up with an efficient qualification format for the world cup... Seeing as Africa is guaranteed 9 automatic and one playoff slot, it's challenging for them...

Can anyone suggest a qualification format that can actually work?

No it isn't. A calender for qualifiers is even a more valid excuse, but format isn't.

They are politicking right now, trying to swing qualification to favour some persons. When they are done they'll let us know.

Our major problem have always being chosing the right coaches who have d right mentality, understand how things work and how this game is played.
The right coach who would select the right players to achieve success.
Luckily for us,NFF mistakenly appointed Ugbade for this under 17 job.we only hope he maintains n continues the good work he started.

It's almost impossible for Bosso to achieve anything with his bunch of players because he is not the right coach neither will he select the right players.
The same thing with the super eagles coach.
The day the NFF mistakenly appoints the right coaches for the super eagles,we will start seeing success.

quarter finals consist of 8 teams. We have 9 slots and 1 play off spot. If 8 slots are taken How are we going to decide the remaining 1 slot and playoff spot. Caf should have just negotiated 10 spots so that the first in each qualifying group goes to the wc. My own suggestion would be for them to conduct 2 qualifiers round so that 36 teams would come out and play 9 groups of 4. All the winners go through and the best second place plays the playoff.

I can see some people talking shit about Frank Lampard, I may not like Chelsea as a team but I have to give kudos to one of their legend Frank Lampard, it's not easy to score 270goals as a Midfielder.

Zidane's career stats are not impressive (bang average)

When you look at the kind of hype some players enjoy and you check their stats, you would wonder why they enjoy such magnitude of hype.
Probably because they dazzles in important games like world cup finals, UCL finals.

Didier Drogba is one of them.

Modric

John Terry

The Oga patapata of the is Diego maradona

What do I know.

The format for Qualifying should not be hard.
Not sure a tournament will be able to decide fairly or accurately

9 groups of 5 teams 45 in total (After the Lowest ranked teams engage in a 2-legged contest to determine qualification for the groups)
The top teams in the 9 groups qualify!

If it is 10 teams then have 10 groups of 4 teams each.
The team leading a group with the lowest stats (points, goals, difference, fair play will play in the playoff)

AFCON isn't a bad idea but I think a group format with the group leaders qualifying will suffice. Teams on the continent don't play games as often as they should. .using AFCON could lead to complacency and poor performance at the Mundial.

I admire the South American format cos the games are really damn competitive but it's difficult to replicate it in Africa for obvious reasons.

CAF would be mad to introduce the kind of politics they introduced to the cadet team qualification...we will end up presenting a poor team at the world cup

In many continental tournaments, upsets are bound to happen... Imagine having Comoros and Gambia representing us at the world cup..

I suspect that the reason CAF might consider the AFCON alternative is because right now, a lot of African countries don't have a standard stadium that meets CAF latest strict recruitment to host games...As a result they would be at a disadvantage if their games are moved to neutral venues
