Frankly speaking, I doubt the Ekweramadu's had his interest at heart. It was basically use and dump for them. The compensation he was to receive was probably peanuts compared to what he was offering (his kidney).

If he was sure the Ekweremadu had his back, he wouldn't have sang like a canary. He realized he wasn't their "boy" once he wasn't a compatible donor or he realized they just wanted to use him.

I am sure if they had compensated him well, he would have protected them.

Some of these very rich people can be very stingy. They don't see others as anything! It is all about themselves.
