CoolUsername:yeah I don't watch WWE. And if Rhea did it does it make what Bianca did any better? Dropping someone on their face isn't of the same similitude as ending their careers. |

PurpLChi:not my fault. I don't watch WWE. The logic behind my theory is a no 1 contender shouldn't be a minion to a former world champ. Her performance will just waste if she returns to Bayley's shadow. |

ValeeLove:Bianca dropped Iyo Sky on her face not unlike Rhea Ripley did to Charlotte Flair. The only thing is that Iyo didn't end up with a bloody mouth like Charlotte did. You'd know if you watched the show. |

WWE RAW REVIEWS RECAPS AND REACTIONS Bring the Pain The last time Finn Balor and Seth Rollins squared off for a brand new WWE championship, Finn shocked the world. Finn became the inaugural Universal championship for about 22 hours thanks to an injury Finn sustained in that match at Seth’s hands. On the other side of that coin, Seth never forgot the fact Finn defeated him at SummerSlam seven (!!) years ago, so he entered this match with redemption on his mind. Maybe I did it here, maybe I did it amongst friends, but I shared so many thoughts over the years about Finn’s attitude once he came back from that injury. As a character, he never demanded his rematch. He never even seemed that bothered by the fact that he held the championship for less than a day. Finn got robbed, straight up and down. No diss to Seth at all because things happen in that ring, but the fact still remains. During this match, Finn showed just a lot of bother. He Power Bombed Seth in the barricade, then asked Seth how he liked that since that same move put Finn out of commission all those moons ago. Finn picked on Seth’s injured shoulder, and showed a viciousness that he rarely exhibits as a member of Judgment Day. Even reminded Seth exactly what his name is in case he forgot. Seth’s injury made any outcome feasible. Finn defeating a one-armed Seth feels like a heel move but it also gets him one step closer to redemption. Seth coming out on top while nursing an injury gives him a lot of juice as a face. Who doesn’t like a good guy overcoming the odds? Seth gutted out a win with a Stomp after the first attempt failed. This makes a lot of sense because Seth is incredibly over and it’s not a bad move going with him as an inaugural champ or at least putting him in the match for said championship. But I still think Finn getting the title is the better story. Besides enhancing Judgment Day, it exorcises those demons that spouted all those years ago. Finn as a possessed heel defending his championship on a revenge tour just sounds fantastic. I’m not down on Seth winning for the reasons I said, but I can’t help but think WWE missed an opportunity. Hopefully they circle back to this story one way or another and give Finn a chance to right some wrongs. Even if it doesn’t come at Seth’s expense. B-Sides 3 The Hard Way I’m pretty sure most astute viewers picked Seth Rollins in the triple threat featuring Seth, Damian Priest, and Shinsuke Nakamura. “How” he got the got the win remained the question. Well, they answered it with a really dope opening tournament match and a great Raw opener. We got each man squaring off one-on-one, along with some psychology in the form of Damian’s hurt left leg. In fact, one might argue that if not for that leg, Damian wins the match. The leg gave way when he put Seth in prime position for a top rope Razor’s Edge. Shinsuke focused on that same leg and tried making Damian submit. But with Shinsuke focused on Damian’s gimpy leg, he forgot about Seth. Seth crashed on top of Shinsuke with an incredible Frog Splash (seriously, the man changed directions mid-air) and then finished the King of Strong Style with a Pedigree. Not the greatest looking Pedigree, mind you, but he got the job done. Props to them for protecting Damian here. After his match with Bad Bunny at Backlash, and just all his work with Judgment Day over the past few months, he deserves all the good things. Who’s the Man I wasn’t sure when Brock Lesnar might show his face this week. And yes, if you watched Raw, you know that’s indeed a loaded statement. Would he make Cody Rhodes’ life miserable during his match against Finn Balor and Miz, or attack him if Cody faced Seth later? Turns out we got the former and whew, we got a lot of it. Cody hit Finn with a Cross Rhodes, then hit Miz with not one, not two, but three Cross Rhodes. Right before the ref finished the three-count, Brock appeared in all black and snatched Cody out the ring quicker than my mom used to snatch me out of any misdemeanor if I forgot my home training. No DQs in triple threat matches, meaning the match continued. Finn finished off Miz with the coup de grace, while Cody felt two F-5’s, including one through the commentary table. Brock is a legitimate scary human being. He showed up with stitches in his forehead and a black left eye, directing all his anger at Cody and the audience at home. I mean, look at it! Brock wants Cody at Night of Champions. As Corey Graves said, Cody focused so much on “finishing the story” that he didn’t finish the job that is the Beast. Dope match but everything with Brock made it better because it felt real. Brock remains one of the few cats on the roster who makes all of this feel like reality. When he said he wants a fight with Cody, part of me thinks they might just find an alley in Saudi Arabia and get it on right there. That’s what separates Brock from everyone else in WWE. That’s why he gets the big money and why he comes and goes as he pleases. As a footnote, Miz once again approached Shinsuke for a partnership after they both missed the mark during the tournament. Shinsuke declined, of course, and instead challenged Miz to a one-on-one match next week. ` Guess Who’s Back? “Go Ireland!” Of all the things Trish Stratus said during her heel promo this week, that made me laugh the hardest. Trish rocked a t-shirt with Becky Lynch missing poster plastered on the front. She even handed out missing posters in the locker room. After one perfectly timed fake out Trish played on the audience, Becky actually returned. She got physical with Trish, because of course, and we know an eventual match is on the horizon this summer. But more great work from Trish. The aforementioned “Go Ireland,” messing with the crowd, working in a story about her daughter and Becky’s daughter, and a perfect delivery. Ill Street Blues Look, any segment with Dom gets an appropriately referenced prison-related rap song. Anyway, Rhea Ripley squashed Dana Brooke in a match Dana asked for because she has a death wish. Dana got in one shotgun dropkick but that was pretty much it. After getting the W, Rhea continued decimating Dana, which brought out...Nattie! Nattie’s back and wants her title shot but also stood up to a bully. Setting up Rhea’s next true challenger (Nattie) is the only reason this match happened. I preferred an actual match for Rhea and more than what we got. I suppose they think Dana is a sentimental figure, and she can be, but there’s no real investment since we have no reason to invest. The General (Salute Me) First off: GUNTHER is blessing Raw with his presence next week. We learned as much from the rest of Imperium as they shouted it to everyone within earshot. Sami Zayn & Kevin Owens didn’t care, plus they Giovanni & Ludvig interrupted them. So, yeah, a match ensued. And it was a fun one! Imperium lost but they hung with the tag champs and showed they belong in the same ring as them. That’s the best we can ask for in this type of impromptu match that introduces a team to an audience who might not watch wrestling on Friday nights. How will GUNTHER feel about the L? The Second Coming “This is fine.” That’s what I thought as the cameras showed us Sonya Deville & Chelsea Green walking around backstage with a petition. But then they ran into The Way. For those who don’t watch NXT, that’s Candice LeRae, Johnny Gargano, Dexter Lumis (kinda), and former NXT Women’s champion Indi Hartwell. While this makeshift family of two parents, their grown daughter, and her psychotic husband possibly got on Karen & Sonya’s bad side, Johnny let it slip that “he” is coming back soon. Candice isn’t enthused and Dexter is on the fence. Who is the he? It’s gotta be Ciampa right? No way Austin Theory comes back to this group for a couple reasons, but Ciampa fits right in with his former best friend and tag partner. Iron Maiden Zoey Stark picked a fight with Nikki Cross. It’s her first night on Raw so why not? If you missed Zoey on NXT, picking fights is pretty much her thing. Not only did she pick a fight, but she won it as well. Another short women’s match that I wish went longer. It’s great they made Zoey look dope in her debut but Nikki deserves a little better than that. Right? And the division as a whole does too. Usual Suspect Dom is the most hated man in WWE. Well, on camera anyway. That man has enough heat to power my entire county. Dom Dom picked a fight with Xavier Woods when the latter interrupted Mami’s backstage interview. Xavier challenged Dom to a match and Mami accepted on his behalf. Dom gets better in the ring every time I see him, combining his great character work with the in-ring action. Dom picking up the W makes sense here because they need to ride this Dom thing until the wheels fall off. They protected Xavier via Rhea interfering and Dom having a fist full of tights on his roll up pin. Does this set up a longer feud with New Day and Judgment Day? Xavier didn’t look like a man ready to just move on and let bygones be the thing they normally are. If there’s one negative criticism for the segment, it’s that Nattie didn’t show up. She already poked her nose in Rhea’s business once, why not do it again? The Choice is Yours Otis has a decision to make pretty soon. The big man wrestled Mustafa Ali and found himself on the wrong end of a butt whooping. He has Chad Gable in one ear and Maxxine in another, which confuses him and, more importantly, distracts him. I thoroughly enjoyed Raw this week. The tournament matches rocked the world. stories moved along, we got some debuts, and a big return. I wish the women’s matches went longer and we didn’t get as many recaps of past action, but there wasn’t a lot of fat on this episode. For a three hour show, that’s sometimes all I ask |

WWE NXT REVIEWS RECAPS AND REACTIONS I’m Bout It Trick Williams had one major job for his match with Bron Breakker: hold his own. Thankfully he did, but we’ll get to that in a bit. First, let’s talk about a few puzzle pieces going into this week’s main event that I found interesting. Carmelo Hayes is back but Trick wanted Bron one-on-one. I like that he mentioned fighting for his best friend but also for himself. We all know Trick as Melo’s guy but this actually established his own wants and desires independent of the NXT champ. That’s a big deal and goes a long way towards his development. Apollo Crews showed him a lot of love last week in a backstage segment, so it's fitting that continues. Secondly, they’re finally honing in on Bron Breakker’s heel character even if it’s still a bit disjointed. Bron is in his feelings that the NXT crowds chose Melo over him. He carried the title and the brand for a year and has nothing to show for it. I can get with that. It’s believable and it’s exactly what happened. Bron put the brand on his broad shoulders, he slapped hands, he smiled, he fished, and he probably even kissed some babies. He handled every lame feud thrown his way as the babyface champion and did his best with the material. But the people chose the other guy. It’s standard material for a heel turn but some things are standard for a reason. But here’s the disjointed part: Now he wants the championship after dumping on it for weeks. As I said last week, it’s hard selling a championship match when the challenger doesn’t want the belt, so I understand the corner NXT painted themselves into with this match. But making story pieces logically fit together is also their job. One of the first things Bron says after his heel turn is that he’s glad he doesn’t have the championship anymore. Then that changes into he doesn’t want it but he also can’t stand the fact Melo has the belt. Now he wants the belt? If Bron said he wants the belt now as a slight against the fans who can’t stand him, I can work with that. Almost like Mr. McMahon back in the day saying since he has a problem with the people, he has a problem with the People’s Champion; Bron going after Melo and taking what Melo loves as a form of revenge on the audience is delightfully evil. However, Bron holding the belt at the end of the night and saying Melo has something that “belongs” to him makes it pretty clear Bron just wants the belt because he wants the belt. As for the match itself, Trick really held it down. He came with the babyface fire against the stronger heel, he looked vulnerable when necessary, and had the crowd fully on his side with every move. Yes, he tapped to the Steiner Recliner, but there’s no shame there. He held on as long as possible and gave Bron a fight until he finally relented. Melo made the save when Bron tried post-match shenanigans, which resulted in a gorgeous mid-air spear from Bron. My words don’t do it justice so just watch the clip on YouTube/Twitter and then come back. Dope, right? There’s a little more fuel on the fire now headed towards Battleground. We have an injured champion not quite ready for primetime as he nurses hurt ribs, and a challenger who hates his guts. Throw in the fact that the challenger just beat up the champ’s surrogate brother, who valiantly put up the fight of his life, and baby you got yourself a stew. Bring it on. B-Sides Queen B*tch Tiffany Stratton and Gigi Dolin didn’t get a ton of time for their opening match this week. It wasn’t the smoothest affair either, but it was violent. And I do like violence. Tiffany worked Gigi’s injured shoulder on her way to victory, while the match established that if not for that shoulder, maybe Gigi advances to the NXT Women’s championship tournament’s next round. That gives Gigi an out while keeping her focus squarely on Jacy Jayne. Even her pre-match promo focused on Jacy. That’s not saying we got a distracted Gigi either. Just saying Tiffany moving on was the right move. Let Me Fly Kiana James vs. Lyra Valkyria was noticeably less polished than Tiffany vs. Gigi. Not the roughest match ever but definitely sloppy in spots. Particularly when Kiana obviously moved herself in position for Lyra’s top rope maneuver. What made it egregious is the fact she was so out of position that she looked extra silly positioning her body because humans don’t thrive in pain that way. I highlight that as an example of the timing just not working for this match. But Lyra advanced, so the tournament continues. Drink Away the Pain It’s a little weird watching Dyad compete for the tag team championships knowing that behind the scenes they want out of WWE. And by weird I mean it’s hard suspending disbelief for even a minute and thinking they have a shot at winning. That said, they put on a solid match with Gallus and almost won. Dyad is a good team saddled with some ridiculous creative at the moment. Even now, there’s some mystery stuff happening with Joe Gacy that kept Schism’s leader in the locker room while Ava accompanied Dyad. Ava became the reason they almost won when she distracted Gallus just long enough for her boys to gain an advantage. But then all hell broke loose. Diamond Mine showed up and Ivy Nile tackled Ava while The Family waited in the NXT crow’s nest. Everything felt overbooked in the end with Gallus, Dyad, Diamond Mine, and Tony D’Angelo & Stacks all present in some form or fashion. I’m genuinely more interested in whatever Ivy has cooking with Ava, along with a Gallus vs. The Family fight, or Gallus vs. the Bros. Creed. Case of the P.T.A. Gotta love Javer Bernal. Big Body popped trash in front of Duke Hudson. Actually, he just said what we’re all thinking: This is part of Duke’s long con and he wants Chase U all for himself. Duke doth protest too much which is why he scheduled a match between the two. Duke then handled Big Body pretty easily while reppin’ for But again, the other shoe will drop. It’s a matter of when and how, not if. Life’s on the Line Nobody likes Von Wagner. You know how I know? Because he’s a “free agent” who still hangs around NXT. Think about that. WWE said free agents can come and go as they please on whatever show; it’s their call. And Von Wagner decides to stick around NXT paling around with a manager who already kicked him to the curb once. I like the fact they’re still doing something with him, and Mr. Stone trying to draw some emotion out of him through one of Von’s baby pictures can work. But it's hard getting into someone when their storyline is that nobody is into them and no one cares who they are. Slam Ilja Dragunov and Dijk never really got into a wrestling match. It started as a fight and pretty much ended the same way. Dijak doesn’t want to defeat Ilja; he wants his head on a pike. Dijak went for a chair midway through the match, threw the referee to the mat, and immediately went to work on his opponent. The ref rang the bell and then the assault got serious. I like showing Dijak’s violent, semi-psychotic side. That he’s doing it against Ilja makes him look even better since we know Ilja gets busy with the best of them. Dijak’s tough guy routine works a lot better for me when he’s showing and not telling. Putting him behind a microphone or in some backstage segment with the fog machine blaring in the background just makes him look corny and like he’s trying too hard. He speaks better with his fists, feet, and apparently steel steps. How High Wes Lee is rude as hell. Let’s start there. He walked in on Tyler Bate meditating and started talking! He fully understood the situation yet kept carrying on a convo. That’s just bad form. That’s like a kid talking to their parent while said parent is on the phone. Wes, you’re better than that. Act like you have some home training. But I digress. Wes accompanied Tyler Bate during his match with Charlie Dempsey. It was smooth, it was crisp, and physical. What’s not to love? Then Joe Gacy showed up and everything got a little more interesting. Joe got in Wes’ face, which got Drew Gulak’s attention. Then that got Tyler’s attention. Long story short, Joe sucker punched Tyler and helped Charlie get a big W over a big strong boy. Does Gacy want Tyler? Does he want Wes? Is he putting Tyler out of commission to clear his path to Wes? We’ll see. Sparring Minds Hank Walker & Tank Ledger wanted some reps. Who did they choose? Briggs & Jensen. No, why am I talking about any of this? TANK LEDGER SPIT OUT A TOOTH. Yes, that’s the takeaway here. During this tag match, Tank got nailed so hard that it knocked a tooth out his mouth. He put it in his tank and kept going. Briggs & Jensen rocked a new attitude with a little more aggression and less colorful duds. They looked impressive. But not as impressive as a man who spit out a tooth, smiled, and kept going. |

WWE SMACKDOWN REVIEWS RECAPS AND REACTIONS Sorry, Not Sorry Roman Reigns is a disrespectful individual. And I love it. I know internet dot com isn’t high on the Tribal Chief after he secured yet another W at this year’s WrestleMania, but there’s a reason he’s the man right now. This week’s Bloodline segment is exhibit A. Roman plays this mob boss role perfectly. He switches from best friend to scary overlord at the drop of a dime. Roman praised Solo for all his work since WrestleMania. He gave him props for handling the “Riddle problem” and laughed when Solo mentioned Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn. According to Roman, those two aren’t problems. At least not problematic enough for Solo’s concerns. Jimmy and Jey Uso are the real problems. The scene illustrated Solo’s allegiance lies firmly with his older cousin. His brothers? Meh. Solo drank the Kool-Aid while his brothers are rather thirsty. No scene underlined this more than Roman putting hands on Jimmy Uso. After demanding an apology from the Usos for consecutive loses and dedicating a match to him (“I’m not even in a tag team!”), Roman took umbrage with Jimmy laughing and not taking this seriously. The moment Roman mushed Jimmy and Jimmy squared up on Roman? Awesome and something a long time coming. Jimmy understands what it’s like on the outside of Roman’s circle. He took the battle to Roman years ago during the Tribal Chief’s birth. So it makes sense that he poked out his chest while Jey played peacemaker. Roman got his apology from Jey, and then rubbed salt in the wound announcing that it’s he & Solo facing Sami & KO at Night of Champions for the Undisputed Tag Team championships, not Jimmy & Jey. That’s foul. It’s also exactly what Sami said: Roman demands a lot but gives little in return. Jey & Jimmy acted shocked but the fact they didn’t see this coming speaks volumes. That Kool-Aid Solo drank? His older brothers swallowed gallons of it first. And while they’re a tad thirsty now, there’s still some aftertaste left in their throats. My question is how they respond? Sure, they picked a fight with the LWO after the fact, but that doesn’t solve their problem. Do they interfere at Night of Champions? Do they dare stop the Tribal Chief from obtaining more gold? They should. And I feel Jimmy wants to make it happen. But I have no faith in Jey. And until he finally figures this whole thing out, nothing changes for he and his brother. B-Sides Ray Mysterio If you told me 23 years ago that Edge and Rey Mysterio will compete for a shot at WWE’s new championship, my laugh would echo loud enough to crack statues. I’d then ask why WWF changed their name to WWE. But anyway, the fact this match exists, with AJ Styles no less, is remarkable. Just as remarkable was the match itself. Several very clever spots involving all three men, but I expect no less. This is the type of match where a good booker just lets them call it in the ring. They all work well together and just know the game better than most. AJ Styles getting the W shocked me. That’s no disrespect to AJ either, just figured they give the not to Edge with his kids sitting ringside and WWE making a big deal out of that. But the match came down to the quickest and smartest draw. AJ moved just a bit faster and thought just a bit quicker than his opponents in an excellent opening match. Blood Brothers It seemed like Bobby Lashley and Sheamus wished Austin Theory went away. The United States champ simply got in the way of their meaty men slapping meat-fest, but that tied into his character. Austin plays the odds and picks his spots. But he also plays with a chip on his shoulder and hates looking like an afterthought. So even when the two men threw nuclear bombs at each other, Austin inserted himself as if to say “Don’t you...forget about me.” That dynamic made this triple threat very different from the opening. We even got a bloody Bobby Lashley after his head collided with steel steps. Props to Bobby for finishing the match with all that blood leaking into his left eye, along with the sweat. I can’t imagine how much that stung. That said, a hard fought match that, while still good, didn’t quite get me in the feels like the opening triple threat. Bobby got the very hard-earned W, setting up him vs. AJ Styles. I think that’s the right call, although one can argue for Sheamus as well. Champion Sound Once again, props to Bobby. They bandaged him up, but that only went but so far when he probably needs stitches in his head. The All Mighty bled during his match with AJ. Thankfully, they got just enough time to tell their story. AJ tried submitting Bobby, tried standing toe-to-toe with him, and of course tried flying high. Eventually, AJ wore down his opponent and got his date with Seth Rollins at Night of Champions. He has a date with Grayson Waller on next week’s Grayson Waller Effect. These two have history, so I assume Grayson becomes a thorn in his side before he dances with Seth in Saudi. A solid match that didn’t do what the first triple threat matches did, but still did the job. Bobby presents a big test for anyone, even with blood dripping down his forehead. If AJ can handle Bobby, then surely he can handle Seth. Right? All Falls Down Baron Corbin faced Cameron Grimes in Grimes’ SmackDown debut! Good for Cameron, terrible for Baron. Baron talked trash on the microphone, dissed Cameron’s status as the last wrestler drafted to SmackDown, and caught a Cave-In as soon as the bell rang. Bum ass Corbin, we missed you. The End is Near It’s only a matter of time before IYO SKY ditches Damage CTRL. Actually, after this week, they may kick her out. During Bayley & Dakota Kai’s tag team championship match with Raquel Rodriguez & Liv Morgan, Damage CTRL engineered a little chicanery. IYO stood on the ring apron with a belt in hand. Bayley held out her hand for the handoff while Dakota distracted the ref. But Raquel stopped all that, Liv pushed Bayley into IYO, and got the win for the tag champs. Damage CTRL ran its course. I hope a breakup serves everyone well. Especially IYO, who looks like a million and one bucks after her match with Bianca at Backlash. Surprise Party Speaking of Bianca, we finally got an Asuka heel turn. During Bianca’s championship celebration in front of her family and hometown, Asuka spit that mist in the champ’s face. Bianca sold it like Michael Myers stabbed her in the chest with piercing creams. These two didn’t get a great build for their WrestleMania match, but with Asuka firmly a heel and all that respect out the window, their rematch might give us a much better story. And I think it's time for her to drop the title. Solid two hour show with plenty of drama, hard hitting matches, moved several stories forward, and never wore out its welcome. Plus? Everything made sense. One other minor criticism is WWE really needs to figure out what’s happening with the women’s championships. The SmackDown champ is on Raw and the Raw champ is on SmackDown. No title exchange...no announcement. Just...yeah I’m confused. The main event left a little to be desired, but I imagine longtime TNA fans wept at the sight: AJ Styles vs. Bobby Lashley for a shot at a WWE championship. Will wonders ever cease? |

CoolUsername:😂 Really? Then what's he doing in a venture governed by rules. You know what, answer this - what's the use of a draft if Smackdown guys can just compete for a RAW belt immediately a draft is completed, huh? As you're finishing with that, answer how and why Roman is getting a tag title shot. How did he earn it and who did it beat in a tag match? If you're going to give me 'tribal chief answers', might as well just ignore the questions. |

pu7pl3:come on P we can do better than that. He works for the guy that actually runs the show. Your tribal chief is just an employee. |

ValeeLove:Dey play You don't know how much Pull Roman has behind the scenes. The fact that he didn't drop the belt for Cody should tell you he is not just an employee. |

pu7pl3:okay. So as Talents Relations in real life, he doesn't work for Roman. He works for HHH and Vince. So WWE always coming out and saying "pulled some strings" as a way of promoting non-logical decisions doesn't make any sense. Management should make decisions that are best for business and don't insult our intelligence while in-character manager Adam Pearce makes those same decisions and everyone - including the world champ - follows it. Is that too much to ask? Now there's a NOC PPV that doesn't follow it's rule and defend all championships. Very soon we'll have a Royal Rumble PPV with no Royal Rumble match involved because some one 'pulled some strings', I'm sure you'd love that. |

pu7pl3:which pull? Didn't Vince fire Hogan, Punk, Hart and other names more valuable than precious Roman? He even let guys like Rock and Brock and Austin leave without flinching. |

ValeeLove:The point of the tournament is to give the other competitors a shot because the Bloodline is currently holding the other world title hostage. In kayfabe, Roman Reigns has a ton of leverage as the company's top guy due to his long championship reign. Just like Mbappe and Ronaldo in their clubs or Dwayne Johnson during his stint in the DCEU, they get to dictate their terms to a greater extent than others. Right now, he is using said leverage to limit his title defences to only A-tier PLEs and to negotiate title matches for himself and his boys. In reality, WWE is just trying to protect Roman Reigns from injury and overexposure. Furthermore, at this point, we know he isn't dropping the belt until at least SummerSlam. What's the point of feeding him talent when we all know they aren't going over? He needs a challenger that feels legitimately positioned to win it for us to be really invested. Lastly, WWE knows that he is a megastar and a huge draw so they still want him to be involved in Night of Champions in some capacity. |
