Abi1985:I like the System the Whites are Practicing. Even the Property Tax is too cheap. They should raise it to $5000 Per Year. You "Greedy Heartless Nigerian Thieves" would just want to own the World to yourself. Imagine in this Nigeria, There are individuals who has more than 50 Houses while a Human like him doesn't have ordinary a Mini-Flat to occupy. Nigerian Government replicate this development. At least 1 Million Naira should be paid for every house yearly. This will discourage the Greedy Insatiable Individuals from acquiring too much property. |

Abi1985:If it was only tax it’s ok but taxation plus interest. You see that interest It’s a killer Say u buy something worth 50000$ when they add interest that item will turn to 200000$. And they don’t collect full payment they like smal small so it can seem affordable when really u can’t. An illusionary dream a thousand cuts of death. And there is no full ownership of everything because the banks have tied interest into every thing. They collect tax from your salary. If you deposit you pay tax. If you save you pay tax and the IRS will collect its own tax. If you do bizness and make profit they increase your tax rate and then you pay capital tax again. IRS can close ur account if you don’t pay and then Jail time. Eg wesley snipes. I haven’t even talked about marriage and child support. |

Abi1985:If you live in Chicago, book an appointment with Femi Aguda. He will teach you the secrets of getting a property without paying a dime. Your tenants will be the one to pay your mortgage monthly for you and stop crying here on NL over 12k annually…It is very hard for alaroro to survive abroad. |

Hamachi:Great analysis. The part you wrote about horizon changes and having nothing in common any more with old friends and congenial particularly struck a chord. I do notice that once my friends leave the country for a while, i get distanced from them. Now my concern is that the same rule is about to happen with my siblings. I can now do without them and they without me even for a life time |

If you are doing well in South Africa especially if you are into business you will hardly miss anything in Nigeria except family members which you can easily visit as well. You only have issue with black South Africans but not all of them depending on what you do and where you stay. There are no or few jobs but you create jobs for yourself and the govt doesn't go after them. Most small and medium scale businesses are owned by foreigners, black South Africans do govt tenders while the whites owns most of the large companies. Nigerians are doing well in used auto mobile and spares. They buy accident cars from auction fix and resell or strip it for oarts. About 80% of accident cars from insurance are bought by Nigerians. Black South Africans doesn't even know about the business |

mmsen:Can't fix a country broken from the top. Can you as a citizen build infrastructures or provide resources to the needy? Nope. Nigeria won't be fixed in this lifetime, because the regular sheep like you believe that the wolf is your friend. Until he eats all of you. Then it will be too late. 😆 |

Evolutionlove:So you mean if you worked hard to amass wealth you are not free to buy or build properties for investments because some are too lazy or unfortunate to afford a mini flat? Sounds like socialism mixed with a hint of communism........Karl Marx is that you ![]() |

MyAmericandream:Yea what happens when the tenants stop paying, you now have to foot the mortgage bills because the economy crashed, people are no longer renting at prices that makes sense. Oh then life throws in a wrench and you lost your job, now you have mortgages way above your income, you start borrowing from credit card, you can't pay back, your score drops, you go bankrupt, the houses are repossessed and you are back to penury. Femi Aguda will not tell his clients the downside/dangers of this method ![]() |

Mindlog:Don’t mind him, this is the reason Nigeria is such a mess. Everybody wants to be left to do whatever they want, no responsibility, no laws, just roam about like wild animal and do the survival of the fittest. They hate hate orderliness and want to be rascals. They hate to be socially responsible, yet they want a developed society. Clowns |

sonnie10:i love topics like this because that is when you see the spiritually sick covetous megalomaniacs emerge with their ridiculous grandiose posts. So a couple earning 2340 dollars are only paying taxes of 340 dollars ? That's like 12 percent tax. That's impossible in any civilized world to earn that much and only pay 12 percent tax. In fact I submit to you that the phantom couple Casper the ghost and his wife if they truly existed would be on like 40 percent tax with their wages not the 12 percent you said. Which tells me your story is bogus on a side note my youtube has been buffering for over 8 hours on my laptop and videos have refused to load. any helpers ? |

ZIMDRILL:How much do people earn averagely in a month in Nigeria? How many people are gainfully employed? How many dependants does, the working folks have? What's the ideal amount that should be earned monthly and what percentage should be deducted as tax? I feel these should be answered. Mind you most states in Nigeria have one mineral resource or more that they can use for developing their respective states and supporting their citizens. |

| Re: Disadvantages Of Living Abroad Or Obodo Oyinbo by bjdon: 7:35pm On May 10, 2023 |
Abi1985:You have simply outlined the differences between a functioning society and a non-functioning one. In developed functioning societies the citizens pay tax. That establishes a contract between then and the govt. The govt HAVE to perform in terms of providing infrastuctue and security or the people will ask 'What are you doing with our taxes?' In a non functioning underdeveloped socieity like Nigeria, there is minimal tax. Ony those employed in large private firms or govt really pay tax, in addition to VAT. However the downside is there is no contract with the govt. Govt does not have to provde water, good roads or good hospitlas. Yes you keep more of your money, but you actually end up poorer becasue you have to provide everthing for yourself(Bore Hole, Generator, Private School, Private Hospital...) |
