Like i said earlier, ugbade is too rigid. I don't think he's ready yet. It's back to the basics again. On to the next one. I hope our falcons don't disappoint come June.

Look at how Senegal and Mali play football, and you wonder what went wrong with Nigerian football? Mali and Senegal combined don't even have the population of Lagos alone, yet they consistently produce very intelligent and sublime footballers...honestly Nigerian football makes me want to vomit, APC have seriously destroyed our football and Sunday Dare (our worst sports minister ever) needs to answer questions.

I don't expect the U20 team to do anu better, no U23 Olympic football as well...the SW and the North have finished this country with mediocrity.
u20 go worst 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Nigeria Football is in a state of DESPAIR.

The earlier we come to term with this, the better for US going forward.

Football has departed from this nation and we are only living on past glory. sad sad undecided

Are we still a football power houses on the continent?

At the moment, I don't think so. We used to be but not anymore.

Let's just close the diary tonight.

A sad way to close the diaries. But no... I go still follow Senegal and Mali. The teams that I know will meet in the final.

All the same, thank you.

One issue I’ve seen since the WFU tournament, we always lacked a solid number 9.

In this tourney, the players too dey rush.
I saw the BFA vs Cameron and something told me wewill not get to meet Senegal.

Wasn't good enough yet the lad made the team. No no no. Ugbade was just scared to play Olowoporoku and Cletus because they were among the youngest in the team.

A midfield of Linus/Cletus/Olowoporoku or at worst a trio of Linus/Owoyemi/Olowoporoku should have been our starting midfield from the first game of the tournament but Ugbade decided to play politics. Nonsense.

Do you get , that's to show how wasteful we were. Even if we get a penalty in the closing mins of the match, there's high probability we won't score.
The goalkeeper actually stood out for me. Aside his blunder that led to the first goal, He actually initiated a lot of counter attacks from the back which his teammates couldn't maximize . A lot went wrong with this team sha . I'm pained.😥 Light eke ,agada really disappointed, even Micheal was just a shadow of himself

One thing about me and analysing teams & players/talents (especially when it is Nigerian) is that I will pour myself into that team and know all the details (or at worst, almost all the details) be it from the player profiles to their technical traits to their physical profile and to the coaches and more.

Look at my tweet on May 6th when analysing this team on twitter after the 3-2 win vs South Africa. I just knew. It is frustrating when you can see the Obvious and the coaches who are on ground play blind and stubbornly oblivious.

Remove Linus...

That guy will never make it as a footballer if he continues to shoot long shots and the worse part is that he is a midfielder and the good Nigerian midfielders are not given enough chances in Europe not to talk of a player who likes blasting the ball and plays with the mentality of "I am the hero of the team"..

Nwakali is a good midfielder but he is playing division 2 football and Linus that hasn't done anything is very wasteful so he won't even be considered...

If you know him then you better warn him about his long shots.

We've won the U17 World Cup about 5 times but this is the first time that we decided to field a team that has over 90% of its players being TRULY U17 and what happened next? We failed to qualify for the World Cup.

I don't know about y'all but to me, this speaks volumes about the credibility of our trophy collection.

Mtcheewww... You don't know how to properly profile a midfield player. It is obvious.

You only see the shots but you play blind to his intelligent passing and recovery plays.

Abeg shift.

Before this Afcon began, I analysed the team and made special mention of Simon Cletus and Ifeoluwa Olowoporoku. I didn't even know much about Hope Linus. Linus just walked his way into my tactical/technical attention radar with his midfield displays.

These 3, Linus, Cletus and Olowoporoku were our beat 3 midfielders Ugbade brought to Algeria but he only had the mind to play one all through the tournament hence no real synergy in the middle.

As for your ignorant line here, the emboldened above addresses it keenly. Some of you will just pick up your phones and make off-tangent and absolutely irrelevant comments.

Blame Ugbade. He clearly commanded Linus to take long shots whenever he has the chance. Linus probably scored a screamer in training 🙂.

But the issue is that children always deliver messages exactly as it is given to them without any modifications. Linus is too immature to understand that "shoot whenever you can" was not meant to be obeyed literally.

The defenders made the blunder not the goalkeeper..

Light eke is very terrible especially since he tries to over play and hold on to the ball for long and tries to dribble a lot which was why he couldn't balance anytime he got the ball.

Agada has poor finishing and wasn't moving wings..

The problem with the team in summary is that they all want to be the one that scores the goal and that's a sign of terrible coaching.
