He played just 3 seasons as our Top 9, the rest was mostly SS/AM.

My favorite Man Utd player (Scholes) would have had more assists, Fergie changed his position from AM to CM/DLP.

1. It's not even as if Antony is suffering from a dip in form - fella has always been like this since his days at Ajax. With what we have seen so far, I wouldn't even accept him on a free transfer. ETH signifying interest, is a big issue on its own.

2. It's not as if Ajax quoted a significantly lower price at any point and we were the ones that stalled - their initial price was still a hefty 85m yet ETH felt that a substantial percentage of our budget should be be channeled to a player "who has a lot to learn" (in your own words).

It is in the contract. They only need to hold on to him for 1 more season and City can buy him back for 40m. The wise move for them would be to keep him for nex season and hopefully he helps them get back to the EPL. Only an enticing deal now would make them forego his much-needed services next season plus the potential City windfall in 2024.
