I declared US refusal and was told by the agent that handled my mpnp application years back that its not necessary mentioning that mpnp as it didn't get too far in the application. Now my eye don open. I hope am not banned o.
Abeg how do I tackle and fix this mess, I should have followed my mind initially and just put it atleast.

Which way forward?

Hi my people,

I applied for a study permit with a lower certification (OND) as my highest level of education because my certificate wasn't available at that time, and there was no solid documents to prove it (it was issues with my school). Now that I have obtained my certificate (HND) and I am preparing to apply for permanent residency (PR), is it permissible to update my application with my newly acquired certificate as my highest level of education? Do i need to explain this in my letter of explanation, or it doesn't matter?
P.S I'm currently studying in Canada.

What are your opinions guys?

Firstly, you need to ask your agent what information he submitted in your application. That is the only way to know the things to tackle, and request for GCMs notes.

When you say forms, what exact forms are you referring to?

- Forms that you will fill during the application?
- Forms that you will submit as part of your documentation?

Please stick with the information you have already provided in your old application, in any case you are already acquiring a Canadian certificate, which will give more points than the Nigeria one.

Okay.. Thank you so much for your response. But my aunty has been sponsoring my school since secondary education.
It doesn’t matter she can be a co sponsor. Ur age also will buttress my point. If u are about 30 or over. U are presumed to be working already not to talk of ur study gap

You guys should learn how to be practical in your SOP. Reference whatever you are saying within the text.
For example; I have enough financial support and backup for my study. First, I have paid my first year tuition fee (see receipt in figure 1). I also have the sum of $13,000 CAD to sustain myself for the first year, with another $2,000 CAD for miscellaneous. The available fund in my account/sponsor's account is #20,000,000, which is equivalent to $57,142 CAD (see figure 2 for the balance in the account). The total expenses I budget for my first year for living expenses is $15,000 CAD, which exceed the requred amount by the IRCC from students hoping to live outside Quebec, $10,000 CAD. (put IRCC website that shows the information here).

You need to explain with evidence how you are going to pay for your second year tuition, and how you are going to feed for the second year.

Note: I am not an expert. I just put this up based on what I've been reading on this nairaland.
U are very correct. Truth is a lot of people get denied not because they don’t have enough funds, not because they don’t show that they will return, because they did a poor job in their SOP. Since there is no law that says u can reject someone base on their SOP, most VOs hide under funds and ‘I don’t think u will leave Canada after your study’.
NOTE: YOUR SOP IS UR POWER HOUSE!!!
Concentrate more on it, if possible give someone good to work on it for u!
There’s a way u will arrange ur SOP and the VO might not go further to verify ur documents, just a look at it will be ok by him.
Some days ago, a lady removed the POF in her account immediately after her biometrics, because she could not afford to pay the exorbitant POF % fee for d second month, and guess what, she got PPR for her and her spouse.

Yes u can. Just be truthful and provide sufficient proves. But like @Bobomaigida said. If u have a Canadian degree it’s actually better na, why bother about HND again

Hello good people, I intend traveling to Canada sometime in July for a two year diploma course. I want to know the earliest day I could travel? Does it even matter? My school starts in August 28.

I am about booking my flight. Between Lufthansa and Ethiopian Airlines which gives a better travel experience for a first time international traveler? From the Lufthansa flight's itinerary, there would be a layover at Frankfurt international airport, while Ethiopian Airlines will stop at Addis Ababa, I wonder if transit visas would be required for any of those transit points?

My Canadian diploma is only 2 years, I wouldn't be getting points for multiple certificates, where one has to be for at least 3 years. So I need to include my HND to maximise the points.

Hi fams trust you are all good..

Please I am married with kids.. my wife's highest qualification is OND which she obtained in 2014,she has been a full house wife since then taking care of our kids and selling some petty things. I have Bsc in Entrepreneurship and Business Management, I already had OND in marketing and I work in a bank as a contract staff (teller to be precise) for the past 8yrs my salary is little above 120k. We have other business that generate income for us though, we registered the business with only my wife as the director because I'm not ready to declare any OBI in my office. We stays in our 2 bedroom bungalow that God provided for us in a very good area not in the bush and we have 1 acre of land with deed of assignment in my name.

Now we are planning to relocate and needed professional advise,

1. Should we make my wife as PA if yes how do we explain the study gap since 2014 till date unless we will use the CAC as her business she has been doing.

I have already applied to a college awaiting their LoA but a friend to my wife who is already in Canada now said we made a wrong decision dt we should have made her the PA while i apply for SOWP dt a lady might not be able to hustle the way a man will of course I know this but I'm just thinking about the study gap and the funding aspect of it .

PROOF OF FUND:
Can I be her sponsor if we decided to make her the PA as my account is doing fine than hers meaning the money will be in my account and we make all necessary payment through my account.

Gracias for your response...

You can use a bank account in any part of the world. So, your account in Nigeria is acceptable.

As a sponsor, an affidavit of sponsorship is sufficient. It is also acceptable to transfer funds to his account and provide an explanation.

Thank you very much for your response

Answer is yes. And u have good home ties, u have sufficient funds according to u. Just make sure u have a good study/career progression and the rest work will be in ur SOP. Be passionate, emotional and detailed with convincing evidence. And u are good to go.
She can be the PA, she can either go for an undergraduate or diploma program.

The best way to choose who should be the primary applicant is to calculate your points. Just assume you want to embark on express entry and calculate your points. The person with the lower point should be the student. The person with the higher point should be working. So that when he/she works for 1 year and gain Canadian experience he/she can apply for permanent residence even while the other partner is still schooling.

I hope this helps.

If you really want a good work, you need to first draft a rough one, so that someone that hope to help you will have something to write. You are the best that can represent yourself. You should work hand in hand with the person that will help you yo avoid misrepresentation.

Army2022:
It's a good sign.
Go to your bank, get a new SOA and I'll suggest you also request another reference letter from your bank for this new one.
Congratulations in advance 😁.
I'll advice you book your medical appointment now. From my observation, those that waited to get a medical request first, end up "very worried" about getting a closer appointment date. Because of the limited time frame.

P.s This is one of the reasons why people shouldn't tamper with their POF while their application is still ongoing.

Greetings all. I plan applying for Jan 2024 admission and after doing some research and going through these threads, I found these 5 universities: Canadore college, Cambrian College, Confederation College, Conestoga college and Saulte college.
1. I found the OCAS registration site for these universities, will I make one payment for all these schools on the OCAS website or make a separate payment per school.
2. Which of these schools have fast admission processing time?
3. I checked the refund policy of these schools on their website and it seems fair. Is there anyone who has had an issue with refund on any of these schools please?

Thanks for all your help

Before I give this advice, I want you to know that I’m an educational consultant for people who migrate through the study route and I focus primarily on Canada. I apply to schools for people and provide the admission as fast as possible, writing the SOP for my applicants and securing a 95% success rate. Having said that, here goes:

Conestoga would have been your best bet, but I advise you to stay far away from them because they have started increasing their tuition deposits. It was initially $1,500, but now they would need you to pay an extra $8,000-9,000 before leaving the country. My clients have been unhappy about this but we do not have a choice than to follow their requirements. Please note that the tuition deposit can not be negotiated.

If you however have the money, you can by all means go there.

Cambrian college on the other hand has their tuition deposit fixed and pegged at $8,014. Their offer rate and speed according to the hundreds of applications I’ve done for them is 87% (I’ll keep Conestoga at 92%).

I do not partner with Confederation College but Canadore and saulte are great schools too. I’ll keep those at 80%.

I hope this helps, Good luck

Hello guys, will there be any need for transit visa in these two bookings?
One is laying over for just 45 minutes in Dublin.
The other connecting with another flight in Philadelphia after 5hrs 35 minutes.

Kindly advise on these two flights.

Your wife’s friend is right but you need to weigh your options. Being that she has only OND, she may have little limitations in terms of schools and all, but I understand you guys may not generate much income if she is the dependent. You have an upper hand with the degree you have, and you could apply for a 2 year pgde or graduate cert. course in your discipline (cheaper), and she would be the dependent, if she can work sha. If you eventually find a school that takes only OND (I’m assuming you’re not going through an agent), then by all means, apply and be the dependent. Just make sure you are applying for a post graduate course.

The study gap is not an issue per se. It can be written for you. Not even a big deal. Your SOP would also help back it up.

To answer your last question, you have enough home ties.

Please note that I am an agent, and this advice is coming from the experience I have, having secured admission for hundreds of applicants. Good luck.

Hello guys ,

Please I just got admission for a pgd cert, I'm about to start my visa processing.

1. My first question is after getting my visa, is it advisable to get married to my fiancee before leaving (court wedding) will this in any way affect my visa?

2. If we are married can I include her in my pr application after I finish my studies? She will still be in Nigeria.

3. I plan to bring her in after I settle down in canada. Is it easier to bring her in if we are married? Or can she just come in on a study visa as well if we are not married yet?
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 22 by bullstriker: 5:45am On May 21, 2023
1. It will not affect your application or entry to Canada. However, getting married before you apply for the study permit is better so she can join you on SOWP. Moreover, travelling without your spouse will make your home tie stronger.

2. Yes, you can.

3. Either of them is acceptable, but the former is easier. She can join you on a SOWP, but it could be challenging for her to prove the genuineness of the relationship if your marital status is single, as Vos ensures that relationships are genuine and not entered primarily to acquire status in Canada.
