I'm a newbie here though I have been going through the page My spouse is currently in UK on student Visa. He will be done with study by December 2023. He applied to a school in Canada and got admitted for January intake but want to defy to May 2024. 1. Can he apply for his study visa over there in UK or do he need to come back to Nigeria to apply? 2. Do we need to apply for my SWOP or it better to apply when he gets his visa. I'm in Nigeria. Note that he has a job, land property and age parent as home tire Our primary concern is if he can apply in UK I don't know if there is anyone that have applied from UK and got his/her study visa |

I have aunty that travel with her two kids who are Canadian citizen to Canada, but she is on a visitor visa that expires in June. But presently have secure admission for two years program. Would she be able to convert to student permit? We read in the IRCC regulation it’s not allow to apply within Canada. But can she just stay in and apply using the outland Canada application? |

Hgold: It is not compulsory to keep your POF in naira. We are only considering that option because we have some funds in our naira account. |

He can apply from the UK, but applying from Nigeria is the best for obvious reasons. How long he has been in the UK and the duration of his status is vital if he wants to apply from the UK. One of the common mistakes that students from the UK make is going for a similar program that they studied in the UK. So, ensure that the intended program complements his recent education in the UK. If the proposed program is the same or below the level of the program he studied in the UK, discuss the course component that is lacking and how the program relates to his career path. You can apply with him, but applying alone is better so he can use you as an additional tie. Harmony63: |

Yes, having a visitor visa does not make her eligible to apply from inside Canada. To be eligible to apply from inside Canada, she must meet specific criteria; one such requirement is completing a course or program that is a prerequisite to securing a school admission to a DLI. She can apply for a study permit (IMM 1294, if using gckey account) from Canada. Still, she must choose Nigeria as her country of residence if she does not meet the above-mentioned criteria and must travel to Nigeria when she receives PPR to submit her passport. ehiremen2002: |

You can keep your Pof in any currency. Unlike temporary residence applications, a fixed deposit is acceptable for permanent residence applications. Hgold: |

He applied for graduate certificate in big data analytics while he is studying masters in cyber security in UK university. It's a 2 years course so he will be done by December and his Visa will expire by May. He want to migrate to Canada before his Visa expires. So we are thinking if he should come back and apply here or apply from there and state that he is applying from Nigeria We are just confused about the whole stuff bullstriker: |

macsilver:I disagree with u wher u say if undergraduate she can’t go with dependant. With undergraduate she can even go with dependants, and I’m speaking from personal experience. So anyone they choose is fine, nd with undergraduate it’s sure 4 years visa for both of em. plus she might have a better chance convincing d VO why she is going for an undergraduate because she has not had a formal Bachelor degree, so she can say she want to pursue a career in so so field at the undergraduate level in Canada. She has a good chance with undergraduate if they have the money in my own opinion. |

Pls I noticed IRCC placed my first name as my last name on my application portal, what can I do? |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 22 by pabu(m): 1:12pm On May 21, 2023 |
Christyiji: Ndi agent has done it again. It could be how the applicant filled the form. I don't think IRCC will change any information about an applicant. |

Teephour: Why not get your details from the agent? You pay someone to do a job for you and get scared to demand details that are actually yours. I don't understand. How else do you expect to track the application without the required details? 2 Likes |
