Look, I want tinubu and APC out of power, and I don't even like PDP or LP even.

But people should stop harping on this FCT thing...because if it is correct, then that means that the FCT vote matters more than people who live outside the FCT

The reason why the and clause was inserted was simple. FCT is not a state, so for the purposes of the election it has to be treated as a state, hence the and.

But Obi supporters so believe they won, that they are harping on this FCT thing. To the point that they are championing an interpretation that would make votes in other parts of Nigeria of less importance compared to votes in FCT.

So, if I won elections in all the 36 states, but lost in FCT , and got 5% of the votes in FCT while my opponent got the remaining 95%, my win is invalid. (Don't come and be screaming that 'it is not possible' It can happen. It could.).

Many of them Obidients should calm down, and get ready for 2027. We lost because at the end, the oppositon vote was split. Once Obi left PDP, Tinubu's victory was assured.
People should stop harping on the constitution?

Go and tell that to the constitution.

The constitution doesn't care about your father's opinion.

The most beautiful thing is that after all these lamentations, Tinubu will be inaugurated in a week's time and you guys and your confused parents will cry for another 8 years. grin

cheesy

Of course Tinubu will be inagurated pending the determination of the suits till supreme court.

Tinubu not being inagurated on May 29 will definitely lead to a constitutional crisis and a vaccum in power and the Nigeria is not ready for that now.

But the question we have been asking the true confused elemnts " What Ahmed Kadiri said is it writren in the constitution or not?
What is the supreme court ruling on Buhari vs Obasanjo?

Answer these two questions and tell yourself the truth.

It's like saying Adeleke should not be declared Osun state governor because he didn't get 25% in Oshogbo LG or makinde in Ibadan LG. grin
Unfortunatly you are the one sounding daft for not reading the constitution, stop being a black man, read!!

The President is the governor of Abuja and it is the seat of power so 25% is required to win and have confidence in the seat of power.

It is for a reason and they didn't say You must win Abuja but 25% of total votes cast in Abuja. You can't appoint a minister for Abuja Residents when they did not give you 25% of their votes. It will amount to imposition which is undemocratic. I don't know why you guys finds it difficult to understand this simple section of the Constitution. If the draftsemen don't want to make emphasis in that of Abuja it will simple be written as "24 States of the Federation including Abuja."

How come we appoint house member for Abuja? The lawmaker for fct are voted in the 36 states, fct does not have up to 2% of lawmaker who make its laws, so what exactly is your point?

How many % is need then to be the speaker of the national assembly for abuja? Since u cant lead the national assembly that make laws for fct when u didn't even get any vote from the people.. U see how unreasonable ur point is

1.In disagreeing with me, you don't have to be abusive. If I called you a clown, you won't like it, and you know it.

(And don't tell me you are not abusing me, because that is a lie too).

2.FCT is a state under the electoral law, not the special territory it is. If we interpret the law as you want it to be, you would end up with votes in the FCT mattering more than everywhere else in the country, including yours. That negates the democratic principle.

You are the daft one here. Who is the governor of fct? Is he not the President? So you want to govern fct without getting their votes? The framers of the constitution were even mild, it should have been a 50% +1 requirement in fct.

You think you are doing Tinubu... You will use ur hand to put the nail on igbo presidency... Shebi FCT na northerners get am... No problem... I hope the adopt this into the supreme court.. Ndigbo very short sighted people..

What is even the point of other Nigerians voting if it is Only Abuja voters that choose

the President

Presidential elections only need to be held in Abuja alone then

Indeed, therin lies the problem with the Obidient argument over Abuja.

Personally, even though I was not very fond of Obi (Obi, Atiku, Tinubu and Buhari are just fingers of the same leprous hand to me), I would have liked it if LP won. But they did not , and they only succeded in dividing the PDP vote to pieces.

FCT is a territory. It is even run by a Minister, not by a elected governor self. The and clause is to ensure FCT votes are the same as votes from other parts of Nigeria. That is how it has been. It is obidients who have come with their funny argument about the thing.

It's not about some people it's about status, Abuja is a special status more like a special government headed by the minister of the fct because of its special status as the federal capital territory hence why you don't have commissioners of transportation, education, works, budget etc ....it is actually a federal controlled zone

Dis is not about status. Dis is about individuals n votes. Politics is different from governance, wen it comes to governance den u can bring up all those indices. U n i know is d truth, but because it doesn't favour u candidate. If d tables were turned. Will u say all dis?

So to u Obidients, Ahmed Khadaria is now d full panel of d Supreme Court? Why not just have some common sense to see how clear d law is? So if an indigene of d FCT contests with maybe a Tiv for president and d Tiv man wins in 35 states but d FCT indigene wins only Niger and d FCT where cos he is an irredentist at home gets 85% of d votes, u mean d man who won 34 states shouldn't be sworn in? And two of them go for run off? What if d FCT indigene still wins FCT with 90%? Will u now swear in d FCT man or continue to do re run? Most of u have akamu in your skull not brains at all. At least after d initial excitement, when u sit down to think that under our laws all votes are equal and no territory has a veto over d rest of Nigeria, u ought to have sense and keep quiet.

It's actually written in black and white in the Nigerian constitution, so the daft people cannot possibly be the ones who are just quoting the constitution as it is. On the contrary, the real daft ones are either the people who wrote the constitution and knowingly or inadvertently allocated special status to Abuja residents, or the ones who try to cleverly disregard or twist the interpretation of what's clearly
written in plain English.
