We know inflation and high cost are usually hinged on low supply. Imagine Nigeria having ten of Dangote's refineries, there'll be competition leading to stable pricing.

You forget say they go sell market price, except FG will provide subsidy for them.

You seem to be contradicting yourself.
Stable pricing is different from low pricing.
So if petrol sells at 500/litre and is stable at that 500,you will be okay with it?

Tomatoes is very cheap in Cameroon.

A basket is less than 10k Francs

Tomatoes farmers sells in bulk, like more than 100 baskets, then transport via marine to Oron beach.

Ghana as a nation imports tomatoes from Burkina Faso and at the moment does not have enough to even meet demands and it's so expensive right now.

all of you that faulted border closure are not wise. If you understand the implications of border closure on economic, You will praise Buhari for that policy. Borders must be closed if unemployment will disappear.

Living on a piece of land bought by you in an urban centre and still cannot grow tomatoes and some vegetables around your own house, rear some chicken, rabbits or snail, or fish where possible. Now Camerounians and Ghanaians have to rescue you with their simple wisdom. Nothing kills a child like self-inflicted stupidity

First thing that crossed by mind…

I just didn’t want to counter argue. Because I didn’t have the facts.

But where Ghana one see tomatoes export… when they themselves are struggling with getting enough for local consumption.

Ghana too imports from her neighbors.

Maybe we imported from Cameroon or other sources.

But definitely not Ghana!

If not that Buhari closed out boaders in 2019, there's no way foodstuffs would have been this expensive

The Government should let foodstuffs be imported from our West African Neighbors

Nigerian farmers don really cash out on top our head since 2019, they don make enough money to expand and compete with our neighbors.
Bro, are you sure? When we are willing to go into full production?

Tomatoes no even dy Abj at all…it is very scarce here and even if you see it
Very costly!
I swear oo, my town in abj. There no tomatoes anywhere including the market . Nigeria should start importing tomatoes from neighbouring countries, not even only tomatoes including rice and all food items. We should not starve ourselves because we want to be consuming home made food

Border closure that was selective... It has be total to be effective, not that some will be open in the north while some are shut in the south. Also, medical tourism, education abroad, imported shoes and clothing wares etc must be banned too. So, you don't punish anyone when you sincerely implement a policy in the overall interest of your country.
