Hi Guys,

for knowledge and preparation sake. i know that closing balance on the statement to be submitted for visa must exceed living expenses for the year of study. this closing balance is it daily closing balance or monthly closing balance?

Greetings Everyone

I don't know if this is the right group for this
I'm rounding up my MBA and I want to go for my PhD in Alberta but my challenge now is I wouldn't mind waiting for a PR even though it's longer as my CRS score is high (around 574) so as to come in as a PR before starting my PhD. Is it advisable I go through the PR route as it enables me become a citizen as at when I will be done with my PhD or I should just go through the student route?

Thanks

Hi, to do Uber in BC, you must have a valid BC drivers license. Your car model would be at least 2016 too. To be a fitness trainer, you have to take be certified. Also, your 20hrs work restriction might hinder you. I’m not trying to discourage you… just wanted you to be aware! Regardless, it is possible!

Hell, I’m a lady, I’ll be arriving Vancouver in May. I have my drivers license and I also drive for Uber here in Nigeria. Was hoping to do Uber over there too with my personal car (I’ll be getting a car since I’m selling my car here) since I know how it works. Can we link up for this business ? I’m also a fitness trainer so no job wey I no fit do 🙂

@JDB55, this is the link I used, took 17 days (May 11 to May 27), paid $5

I guess you ordered from inside Canada, that's why it took 17days to arrive. Mine has been over 2months and i'm yet to receive it.

Hello Gurus, I would appreciate if someone can help answer my question;

I was admitted to Fanshawe college for Jan 2024.
I just finished paying my tuition fees of almost 20kCAD
I intend to buy a GIC in July for POF and also apply for my Visa in late July.

I have a BSC in computer Engineering from Sweden but I got admitted to Fanshawe college for a PGD in Business Analysis, although I worked as a customer support representative in sweden for about 2 years after completing my BSC in Computer Engineering, but I don't have employment letter or anything to show that I actually worked as a Customer support representative here in Sweden. I currently work as a production worker in an Automotive company also in Sweden for 1.4 years, I have my work contract, payslip, employment letter from this job.

My question is;
Do you think not having my previous employment letter or payslip, etc is going to have a negative effect on my application? How can I bypass this and get a PPR

I will answer this based on my little experience as one who applied from abroad as well. Based on what you have stated above, you have work experience and i believe you also have your work contracts (or atleast a current one with the Automotive). In my opinion, it should suffice as long as you can back it up with atleast 3payslips. Focus on the current ans if possible supply them with upto 6 payslips of your current. Also ensure you get a reference letter from the former place you worked. That will help backup the information about your previous work experience. Lastly, you have a VERY good chance as long as you are legally resident in Sweden. Goodluck!

Hello Gurus in the house, please I need your help to respond to this VO's concern. I applied for my elder sister on the 22nd of April 2023 and got a rejection on the 10th of May 2023

Basis of rejection - Your assets and financial situation are insufficient to support the stated p u r p o s eof travel for yourself (and any accompanying family member(s), if applicable).

I requested the GCMS and here is the note:

She had a lump sum of 8M deposited into her account from my mum as a gift, this was explained in the LOE, mother provided a notarized gift letter as well as an affidavit of relationship and support. She has about 1.2M in her mutual fund account.
Total funds in Naira is 9M for a 1-year program in NB

Total available funds after first-semester tuition is 27,000CAD
1 year of study, the remaining tuition for the second semester is about 5,000 CAD, bringing the remaining funds for living expenses to 22,000 CAD.

Hi Fogun, the main issue is the evidence to back up the funds sent by your mum to your sister, ie What business or job does your mum do to have raised the funds sent to your sister, once you are able to provide the documents to show what your mum does then you are good to go.

.

If you have already submitted your study permit application , then you will have to wait until after it has been issued to apply for a SOWP for your common law partner. Below are some of the documents you would need when submitting the application.
A valid passport
A valid study permit (sponsor) and should have 6months or longer validity at the time of application.
Proof of full time student at a designated learning institution.
Proof of college fee receipts.
Proof of financial support.
Proof of ties to home country.
Proof of relationship.
i am currently in same shoe, can't leave my girl behind.

I like your honesty if you have 12m here that means you can make more why not invest in yourself here rather going there to start afresh

If you are given a student visa and you don't attend lectures, you're setting yourself up for illegal stay

They are the same, the only difference, when you are using them a sponsor, you have to show extensively what they do to earn money, if they transfer the funds to you, you will still explain what they do but not extensively.

Please,

Look for a cheap school in Nova Scotia that would allow you run your program online while you are in Canada. Your legal status will be a student while you can move to any other province and do your legal stuffs
