lexy2014: In Togo it’s 550 per litre. Market price cos it’s all imported. This should end up being the ceiling here too. Greed is what will make anyone charge higher than prevailing market price. |

Dangote enjoys government waivers. When govt imposed a covid19 lockdown, dangote's companies and staff were allowed to operate without a shutdown.Govt have a stake in dangote refinery. So he will enjoy cheap crude oil at a very subsidize rate and tax waiver. So dangote should not punish nigeria because OPEC countries dont suffer for fuel like nigeria. |

Nazgul: Did Dangote told Nigerians that he will subsidize petrol for them with his refinery? The man is into business and will sell his petrol according to how he get the crude oil in OPEC price. So if you are expecting cheap petrol from Dangote refinery you must be kidding yourself |

eroticecstasy: So if the three candidates supported subsidy removal then he shouldn't put plans in place to cushion any possible effect? Day one he came with such announcement... It's pathetic how some of you think.... Go out and see for yourself what's happening now in fueling stations and the current price.. 4 Likes |

nedekid: yeah, kind of. But we won't be subsidizing in scarce dollars or subsidizing the rest of west Africa and naira will gain its strength a little. airsaylongcome:read again, I said portion of fuel that will be used by nigerians. Dangote refinery is built to serve Nigerians market first, then international market.. If Nigerians consumes 100 liters of petrol per day, they sell the crude worth that amount to him in naira and the exported ones will be in dollars. That's what countries like Saudi etc that have refineries do to keep their petroleum price low and uniform against the international market price without subsidizing in dollars. By the way, no one is stopping other people from building their own refrienery. Dangote wasn't the only one with licence to build refinery. |
Re: How Much Is A Litre Of Fuel In Your Area. by dyera(m): 7:53am On May 30, 2023 |
abuhusna1: Guy it is not as simple as that. It cost more to import fuel. It cost less to refine and sell fuel locally. Assuming refining 100 liters of fuel cost $100, oyibo man will refine the fuel for $100 sell it to Nigerian importers for $150, and filling stations will buy it from importers for $200. Now, Dangote refines 100 liters of fuel for $100, he will be able to sell it to filling stations for $150 if he is not wicked. Filling stations buying fuel directly from Dangote refinery would be a lot cheaper than buying fuel from importers. With filling stations buying fuel from Dangote refinery, if subsidy is removed, the price of fuel is not going to be as expensive as it would have been when filling station was buying from importers. Although the premise would be when filling stations start buying fuel from Dangote refinery. Right now filling stations are still buying fuel from importers. 1 Like |

Yugoslavia247: Dangote is one of the major Beneficiaries that enjoys Tax waivers from FG both under APc & pDp. We don't need Dangote to be father xmas, all we are saying if Imported fuel cost 700 to pump, local production should cost be lessser Becos all cost associated with exporting and importing back our fuel plus other associated cost would have been successfully cut off. So Dangote has no justification to sell at same price as Imported refined oil will sell. 1 Like 1 Share |

chidiokay: Does anyone tell a private individual how he runs his business. If you want to tell dangote how to run his business then create a competitive govt refinery. Remember cement is not sold cheap because we have limestone in Nigeria. Sugar is not sold cheap because we have sugarcane in Nigeria. Garri is not sold cheap because we have cassava in Nigeria What makes you think fuel would be sold cheap because we have crude oil. Or does crude oil refine itself. 2 Likes 1 Share |

ceejay80s: This is not about voting tinubu. Obi and atiku also mentioned they will remove subsidy in their campaign, so regardless of who won. Subsidy removal has been sealed since January 2023. There's no budget for subsidy in the 2nd half of 2023. |

Yugoslavia247:All these bear parlour analysis nah wa oo! so if you borrow money to finance a project, you must recoup your money back within a very short time bah. What happens to the transportation cost for taking crude oil to Europe for refining? what happens to the forex that would have been used to import the same product back to Nigeria? |
