The previous governments made that mistake of allowing marketers free hand to import petroleum products instead of fixing our refineries. Look at multiple-headed hydra monster they have become.

This is why we keep hammering it.. Never allow monopoly for any businessman in any sector of our economy. There has to be healthy competition for development and choice varieties for citizens. If I don't want to buy Dangote or BUA cement for example, I should have other alternatives produced also in Nigeria.

The same man that violently stood against susidy removal in 2012, he claimed that removing it will cause Nigerians hardship and look at what is happening now.

He sponsored fierce protests against subsidy removal and now he has deceided to rempve the same subsidy.

I'm not against subsidy removal if you oppose government good policies because you are playing politics and ended up turning the masses against the government then know it that the same fate will befall you tomorrow.

No sane person will oppose subsidy removal. But before you make such announcement you ought to measures in place curtail the ugly situation to arise.

Tinubu has always been know for making reckless and careless statement. He whole campaign irks of it. We warned/told them to choose a president that is accessible but they refused.

Well Peter Obi will surely use Tinubu tenure mistakes
to prepare him self well.

Obi is never Nigerian president. Wake up please

Hmmm. This is exactly what I've been saying, government needs to be blamed. Everything we see, hear that these marketers and criminals do, is the fault of the government. Why is it their fault, because they fail to act.

I blame them because they created this in order to help themselves benefit from the chasm created because of their ineffectiveness and ineptitude.

You need not a prophet to tell you that the same group of people that fought against Jonathan with terrorists, protests and propaganda are the subsidy beneficiaries.

Okonjo Iweala's mother was kidnapped because she refused to pay fraudulent subsidy claims, did the government bother to find out who and who kidnapped her mother? Irrespective of the fact they have many leads to follow?

This is very simple and easy. The companies making those bogus and fraudulent subsidy claims, should have been investigated by the Police because they are the ones likely to kidnap her mother, since one of the kidnappers told Iweala's mother they kidnapped her because her daughter refuse to pay their fraudulent subsidy money. So the prudent thing to do here is to investigate the owners of those companies, trace there whereabouts, tap their phone lines etc...

This is the same thing we hear everyday, government complaining about people smuggling fuel out of the country, yet they haven't been able to parade anybody caught for doing this.

The people who mount and protect our borders, (Customs) nobody have been sacked for failing to do their job.

You even have to ask yourself why Okonjo Iweala didn't take her findings to the EFCC. Any manner of fraud is a crime, so I wonder why she didn't involve the EFCC by showing them her findings, let the EFCC arrest the owners of those companies making fraudulent subsidy claims and prosecute them.

This would have been what is obtainable in many western states, but not in Nigeria where excuses are the other of the day. What a shame.

And it is the same subsidy cabals that formed and funded the apc, sponsored protests that later led to the ousting of gej.

Naija sha....

Gej even reinvested the money directly in Nigerians and I know people..... Farmers, artisans, traders, transporters that benefited from it. We can't say the same thing today.

And these subsidy cabals are the people most Nigerians support by calling for retention of subsidy.

Ok o.

Well, subsidy has gone. It should have gone in 2012...even in 1993.

But because cheap fuel is too sweet.

Nope, it would have gone in 2012 but because the current Apc government stopped it because of their hunger for power. They used it to turn the masses against a good government.

Things cost money.

Dangote refinery is now operational and has the capacity to deal with Nigeria's domestic daily demand for PMS with enough to spare for sale abroad.

Why then do you ignorantly suggest removal of subsidy has to be irrevocably tied to "fixing up the country's refineries"? Can you answer that question to show you are an objective and progressive Nigerian since your statement below indicates you are anything but those things?

and who told u d dangote refinery is ready?Dem don scam una

No government-owned refinery will work in this country if the subsidy was not removed,

Now, that they how lost out, they don't have any more reason to sabotage the refinery.

Again, why are you mocking people buying fuel at a high price? Were you exempted or you're just being pained because your principal lost out?

Almost all the major Presidential candidate's campaigns with subsidy remover, and it will change nothing even if your guy had won.

We are in this together and we will all adapt to it for at least 4yrs.

Those benefiting massively from this subsidy are the people behind the poor state of our refineries.

Now that subsidy is gone, we will all know how many litres of fuel Nigerians consume daily as against the inflated amount of litres the subsidy thieves are making us to believe.

Those saying that government should fix refineries before subsidy removal should know that those benefiting from the subsidy scam will do anything to frustrate any government efforts to revive the refineries.

Removing people's hands from pot of soup with plenty meat and orisirisi will definitely meet resistance.. We are talking of highly connected and influential people.

The power of social media will eventually help Nigeria win the war.

If it's to ditch black people and bring in Whites to help fix our refineries, I am fully in support.. Blacks from experience are largely anti-progress especially when they see money. Our people only love reliigion and pretend to be religious but lack conscience.

I'm just asking. So all this is bcoz of Oil 🛢️money in South.. I see 👀. Chai this is very sad,. And the people wey get the oil🛢️ be the real people living in poverty.. Oil in Lagos is meant for Lagos state but 🛢️oil in Delta sate is meant for Nigeria🇳🇬. Chai alili . The first thing our president could do first🥇 time in office is oil money. Now a liter is 5+ chai alili.. Why can't our politicians leave oil and focus in another income. Everything is all about 🛢️oil money..
