Im surprised that only igbos carry the NLC nationwide strike on their head like Gala.

Very bitter souls who are always against every good thing that will move this country forward.

A shame

The corn munching retards will always mention Igbos even when it's about Nigeria.

Assuming Obi is in the position of Tinubu now, the entire waste would have been on the street protesting day and night.

Let that corn mod that has always ban me each time I react to trash from rascals like you ban me once more

Why didn't Joe Ajaero protest during former President Buhari? He knows that Khaki is not leather, but he doesn't even know that Tinubu is madder, watch how NLC will crumble, isn't Jagaban that we know, NLC is embarking on failed mission. The public opinion is skewed against them, they should better retreat or end up in shame.

Give the Government sometime to put structures on ground and the Govt must carry the TUC along

Then if the Government is not doing her part, then strike should be declared

.Tinubu is an astute businessman, no doubt he'll do well governing Nigeria but this subsidy removal announcement on inauguration day was a very hasty decision. I'm sure right now. He'll be regretting it. He should've consulted widely, before making such utterances. Because right now, the marketers are bleeding the populace dry and it's still going to get worse in the coming days.

Is it reasonable for a trade union to refuse to continue meeting to dialogue with a government that's less than a week in power, if not that they have some pre-conceived agenda?

They have met before, and Labour made it clear that they cannot negotiate unless it removal of Subsidy is reversed...it is that simple

They met few days ago

I have always supported the removal of Subsidy since the issue first came up in 2012, unlike most of you who protested then and now showing support for the removal because your tribal or religious man is in power.

At times I wonder how much or what drug they are giving to these people that make them comment the way they do. Once they start defending this govt, they lose any form of humanity in them. They become so inconsiderate u begin to wonder if they are also living in this country witnessing the hardship the average Nigerian is facing out there.

Sure, I have no doubt there are lots of areas of leakage but I doubt allowances alone can really add up to enough to cover the subsidy. Except you want to go after the lawmakers who consume astronomical amounts--but how will he do that practically? Again, the other question is, is it necessarily a good thing to fire all those supposedly useless aides? Isn't this one of the ways government creates employment?

Also, fixing electricity is a big ask. If no government has been able to do it yet, doesn't placing that as a prerequisite effectively mean an indefinite postponement of the subsidy removal?

Asking for elimination of the waste in an excessively bloated staff and parliament, is basically asking government for a show of good fate. There are several other places in government were fiscal excesses can be trimmed. I live within 2 minutes of Gbajabiamila's house in Lagos. There is a permanent team of vehicles and police that take up half of the road doing nothing for most of the time. The only time there is a semblance of work is when he is around with a large retinue of staff. Is that really needed?

Also cast your mind back to when diesel and Kero were deregulated. The narrative was that the savings gained from the removal of diesel subsidy would be channelled to improving electricity. Today, can you honestly say that goal was achieved? Given that history always repeats itself, I don't expect that removal of petrol subsidy will result in ANY benefit to Nigerians. Government officials and hangers-on will see it as their largesse and loot it silly. If loans could be looted how much more "awoof" subsidy money

NLC has been bought by subsidy cabals.

Dialogue is not on the table. All they want is a reverse. Those bastards will spend anything to get it reversed.
You people should stop using this subsidy cabal as smokescreen. The average Nigerian is feeling the heat more than the so called cabals. Transport is on the increase & this will affect the price of every product & there are no increase in salaries, yet u people don't want Nigerians to complain. This is not about cabal, the average Nigerians feeling the heat are the people NLC is fighting for, not any yeye cabal

It's pathetic how people support unconscionable government policies. This was the same way apc goons kept telling buhari that he's doing well and labelling anyone who criticize him as IPOB

You lot have started again. When did it become a crime to protest draconian government policy?
You can protest but make sure your motives are pure. It is not a draconian government policy there is simply no money left in the treasury to pay for subsidy. Do you prefer for your future generations to be enslaved by debt or deal with it now? You are being emotional while Ajaero is feeding fat on sponsored protest. All over the world, cost of everything including petrol is damn high! You can’t compare now to Jonathan’s time, Petrol was 100 dollars a barrel so it was a right. Now it’s 30 dollars it is a privilege. Removal of subsidy is not going back anywhere.

Permit me to enlighten you a bit.

The recent hike in pump prices was bound to happen. Enacting such drastic change is BOUND to have an instantaneous effect in prices .

Now, let’s take a deeper look. The economy is now saving trillions, WHICH of appropriately managed, can be channeled directly into the economy.

The importation of fuel has been deregulated, meaning high competition will set in.

It’s just a matter of time, the prices will drop.

I understand and feel your plight, but trust me, it’s the best way to go.

But u yourself know this fund will still be looted by these greedy leaders! Why must the poor have to suffer for something we all know that won't work?? Any govt unable to build a refinery should not be talking about subsidy removal! We all know their intentions! U think prices would come down? I laugh... Let's see if doesn't go higher than this before December. Samething they said for phcn, are prices for bills cheap now?

There is no fund. We borrow to pay the subsidy. We are not making enough from petrol to set money aside to pay it because price per barrel has crashed.

Are there no funds budgeted for education & health already? He should have made use of these & lay out plans to cushion the effect subsidy removal will have on the common man. Let this sink to NLC, I am a Nigerian worker, they do not represent my interest at this time, fuel subsidy is an organized crime by the few against Nigerian masses. The removal of subsidy is long overdue, they can no longer deceive us. NLC is a political wing of Labour Party, they are highly parisan with the NLC Chairman Joe Ajaero openly campaigning for Obi, they want to destabilize Nigeria since their candidate did not win. NLC is a fraud they never have the interest of the masses at heart. All Nigerian workers should ignore them, where were they when Emefiele did shege to Nigerians by denying them their hard earned monies? Criminal gang of few oil marketers sponsoring NLC in conjuction with Labour party.
Nonsense!
NLC is fighting for Nigerians, not any yeye gang. There is no gang any where, Nigerians are the ones complaining. The common man on the street is the one feeling the heat!

Not quite. 3 trillion for half a year on subsidy alone is ridiculous. The marketers also lie about what they truly import and sell most at the border. If we eliminate such borrowing, even if we borrow 3 trillion for other things, you will definitely feel the impact.

We cannot spend what we don’t have. If that pipe is not blocked, their was no way we could achieve such!

More than half of our infrastructures in last 8 years was in loans, while we were funneling trillions into subsidy.

Let’s watch the movie together and give a little time. It’s less than 2 weeks and won’t be fair to just reach conclusions.

I love this NLC under Ajaero. No time to check time. Tinubu told us in 2012 that it's insensitive to remove subsidy and inflict sufferings on the masses.
So we won't allow him dare it else NLC will shut down this country
