Iupacnomenclatu:History of Lagos sovereignty in chronological order: 1) Benin 2) Britain 3) Nigeria And the British took Lagos from Benin around 1860, so what the hell are you talking about? |

Creeper: Parts of Ekiti and Ondo were in the Benin empire before it collapsed. They took Akure from the Ijesa but Akure also later reduced Benin to its tributary state. Some Ekiti towns were also under Benin |

Omodua: Those oil companies are privately owned and siting their H/O anywhere they deemed right is a corporate decision of the owners. Lagos didn't dictate to them. Those Churches are not established because of igbos. Individuals, be it Igbo, Hausa, Zulu, Arab, Yoruba etc joined a Church because of their belief or what they will benefit from joining. There are so many Igbo Pastors who left the East for Lagos/SW to establish Church as well. |

lawani: No part of those places were Benin land. They (Benin) were defeated. Just because people had relationships - it doesn’t mean they were part of anything. |

bakynes:We were never under any Benin empire. You people need to give it a rest. Yoruba were never once under Benin empire. Oba of Lagos has ancestry to oba of Benin and oba of Benin has ancestry to ife. But Yoruba were never Benin empire. That’s why no lagosian speaks Edo language 1 Like |

I just admire how Yoruba basically go into debates about history with zero knowledge of history, and just fanatical beliefs and zero logic. |

Stoplying: You don't seem to understand. For example, if all Igbos agree on something in their history that concerns them, then no non Igbo will go there and argue with them because the person would appear foolish. However Igbos don't agree on mostly everything because a large number of them are not even cultural or ethnic Igbos but Igbo speakers. They use the language as a trade language and only became Igbo by association. That is why many nationalist Igbos complain of lack of unity among Igbos but Yoruba is not like that despite having our own differences. |

obyno82: I am not interested in how you define indigenes in your enclave. So, don't teach us how to define our indigenes in the SW. No one from Ogun and other SW states has complained about the proposed law. Why only you people? |

Stoplying: Man, get this fake junk pseudo-history out of here. Curamo was gifted to the Portuguese by the Ijebus. Benin’s voyage to Lagos happened due to their war with the Ilajes and they were taken there by Itsekiris. The Oba of Benin was ambushed by the Ilajes when he was returning to Benin and he sustained injuries that later killed him. Itsekiris actually have more claims to Lagos than Benin because without them - there’s no way Benin would’ve made it to Lagos. Also, you don’t jump over kingdoms to conquer another one. Benin never conquered Ijebu, so how would they have conquered another territory you have to go through Ijebu kingdom to get to? It’s just common sense. But I guess logic doesn’t work when making up fake stories. Benin also never conquered Itsekiris. |

It is not possible to debate these yoruba guys, they are too fanatical and have no logic in their brains https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f8PYb28ULHQ It is not surprising, Yoruba are the only southerners who joined Islamic terrorist groups. These guys have the same fanatical mentality as boko haram. The video says it all, don't waste your time debating fanatical fools. No matter how many times you prove them wrong, they will never deviate from their disproven belief. |

Stoplying: Orunba Ado (cementery of Ado kings) was at Ife. The Ooni and Ife priests up till date know where the cemetery is located. Also, Benin has never denied there was a link between them and Ife till date despite the mixed up and disagreement on historical account by the late Oba of Benin and late Ooni. ONITSHA, the indigenous ONITSHA people also migrated from IFE to the present Onitsha. They had a stopover at Benin and other places before settling down where they are now. You are actually blinded. So, you want somebody to prove that Eweka once ruled Benin and you demanded for evidence. |

As long as Sharia exists in northern states, nobody can stop the law in Lagos. Mark my words it will be passed. The current circumstances of settlers calling Lagos ‘ No man’s land’ and acting on the delusion has made it imperative. eldoradoxx: |

We were all afraid of Islamisation of Nigeria and failed to notice the yorubanisation of Lagos. It turns out that Yoruba were more fanatical than fulani herdsmen, who would have thought 🤔 |

Stoplying:It says it right there. Before the oba of Benin was founded Edo had ogiso rulers. https://www.edoworld.net/origin_of_the_Edo_people.html https://guardian.ng/features/ogiso-and-ogiamien-are-aborigine-binis-while-oba-of-benin-is-of-yoruba-descent-high-chief-esotericist-monday-wehere/ As far as Lagos is concerned the indigenous are Yorubas. Edo don’t look like Yorubas or speak the same language. It’s not rocket science |

obyno82: You don't need to complain on behalf of other SW state now. As a matter of fact, every true Yoruba is comfortable with the law that will protect their kinsmen - indigenous Lagosians. |
