So what is the point of the law you want to implement? Do you agree with me if Tinubu or Sanwo can be Governor of Lagos as non indigenes that other non indigenes of Lagos can also contest for Governorship election in Lagos?

Do you also agree this new law should be applied to non indigenous people of Lagos State such as Oyo state, Osun state,Ekiti state, Ondo state, Ogun state?
You are not an illiterate now, there is just one meaning for non indigene so stop asking about any states. Let the indigenes be protected.

Hope the law will protect big Yoruba churches so that non-Yorubas will no longer attend.

I hope the law will also prevent non-Yorubas from marrying Yorubas and vice versa.

I hope the law will also make sure that Yorubas will attends only Yorubas owned schools and hospitals vice versa.

I hope the law will also make sure that all the oil companies head offices relocate back to Nigerdelta, their operation base.

Hope the law will force Yorubas to start going to Europe, China and Japan to import spare parts for their cars

Hope the laws will also asked Zenith Bank, Access Bank, Fidelity Bank, standard chattered bank to employ more indigenes since they are not owned by Yorubas

The law should be all encompassing.

The law simply will make sure that no idiot will ever open their dirty mouths to say that "Lagos is a no man's land" simple.

Or did you think their will be no consequences to your effrontery when you were jumping upandan, trying to force a chinedu on the people? They now strike back, you're now wailing.

Most Canadians are not indigenous to that land.

As long as Sharia exists in northern states, nobody can stop the law in Lagos. Mark my words it will be passed. The current circumstances of settlers calling Lagos ‘ No man’s land’ and acting on the delusion has made it imperative.
Sharia law is Islamic law that guides Muslims. A Christian cannot be tried in a Sharia Court, are you aware. Nigeria's constitution recognizes Sharia law as for Muslims. Before Lagos can have powers to make law to define class of law that should apply to indigenous Lagosians separate from everyone else, then they have amend the constitution to get the benefits Nigerian Muslims derive from Sharia law (if any).

Which one is una go learn? Learn what. If Lagos can be allowed to make laws segregating against people in ownership of property or right to do business in Lagos even as citizens of Nigeria, then we in the Niger Delta will also be allowed to make law that the vast oil and gas under our lands and seas is our cultural heritage as indigenous people of the areas and only our sons and daughters can own, drill, export and market our crude. Isn't it fair enough since we are to be allowed to make laws like Obasa said "giving more rights to property and participation in commerical activities in our state to indigenous people of Lagos as Yoruba nation" (paraphrasing Hon.OBASA

India is a special case and there are many things in India which should not be copied: Indians have a caste system which gives people value based on the lightness of their skin.
I have heard many outrageous claims about Indian "Caste System" from foreigners but this one takes the cake. "Caste System" is based on the lightness of skin? Dude, some Tamil Brahmins are blacker than many Black Africans. LOL.

As for "protection of indigenous people", that is indeed a lesson one can learn from India. But for that, one needs to first stop listening to foreign propaganda about India and realize that "Caste System" has been outlawed in India since 1950. More importantly, a "Reservation System" has been introduced since then that gives India's tribals and so-called "Lower Castes" a preference in admission to Government Colleges and Government Jobs. There exists laws like the SC/ST protection act that favour to Lower Castes. And that there exist people of the Upper Caste who are below the poverty line in India, even though only 3% of Indians are below the poverty line today.

The clearest example of India protecting indigenous people is the Sentinelese tribe and other tribes that inhabit the Andaman and Nicobar islands of India. So it is possible to learn from India in that regard.

How lazy can you be? You refuse to use your words and instead post two videos that are unrelated to your original claim and my counter-claim about skin colour. It is also apparent that you deliberately ignored the latter part of my comment, the part that actually has something to do with the topic of this thread. Shows that you are not interested in a serious discussion about the topic on hand. You just want to deflect, and your way of doing that is to turn this from a conversation about protection of indigenous people into a conversation about India's "Caste System".

Use your words man. Or don't reply at all.

^ I think this is a very immature world view. Lessons can be learnt from other nations' positive experiences irrespective of how backward that nation is. I have learnt lessons on disaster management from even nations like Democratic Republic of Congo. I certainly didn't let a "superiority complex" develop in me that blinds me to the achievements of nations worse off than mine. But that does not seem to be the case for you.

1) am I a specialist on India's cast system ?
Answer: no !
2) does my expertise or none expertise on India's cast system matter?
Answer: no
3) does India's cast system favour lighter skin colours?
Answer: yes
4) is the Indian system racist against darker skin colours ?
Answer: yes
5) why did I post the videos ?
Answer: you were lying by omission and trying to gaslight me, and making everything about being an expert on India's cast system.
6) so you know one person at the top of the Indian cast system whose skin is very dark ?
Cool, what is the percentage of people on the top of the Indian cast system whose skin is very dark ? The trick of favouring one person of a community (while the rest of that community are treated poorly) and then always pointing to that one guy in order to claim there is no injustice is a very old trick.
7) how lazy am I ?
Answer: I don't work for you, nor do I owe you any work, also I have a life in the real world, I'm not at the disposition of Nairaland nor of yourself.

I think we don't need to exchange any words after this. Try and learn how to talk with respect, otherwise don't talk at all.

1) Is this thread about Indian Caste System?
Answer: No.

2) Why did you bring Indian Caste System into this debate when you yourself say you are not an expert on it?
Answer: Because you find it beneath you to learn any lessons from India when it comes to the topic of this thread: protecting indigenous people.

3) Did you stop making bogus claims about Indian Caste System such as the claim that skin colour discrimination led to Caste System?
Answer: No.

4) Did you make strawman arguments trying to insinuate that I am denying Skin-colour discrimination in India just because I am denying that it led to creation of Caste System?
Answer: Yes.

5) Did you pick relevant points from my reply regarding the actual topic of this thread and thereby make an effort to stop derailment of this thread?
Answer: No.

India caste system is a result of too much peace and prosperity. They more or less had a caste system in Europe as well. Serfs and ruling class. Indian caste system is not based on color but on occupation. Google search Dalit pictures and you will see that they are light skinned Indians mostly. If they had frequent wars and a vibrant slavery institution, there would be no outasts. Other castes intermarry but it is marriage to Dalits that is customarily forbidden and there are over 200 million Dalits. They would include light and dark skinned people. Use Google. There are Dalit billionaires and top politicians.

Agreed. Forget Dalit Billionaires, even the Chairman of the Drafting Committee of India's Constitution was a Dalit. But I think you meant to reply to " @Stoplying ", since he is the one who is so unaware of ground realities to the point that he thinks skin colour discrimination led to Caste System. Also, this entire Caste System debate is taking us away from the actual topic here: protection of indigenous people.
