And we are back where we started. Same thing that made NNPC abandon its refineries is about to play out here. The ease of, and huge margins from importation is far higher than of manufacturing (or refining) in this case. When dangote begins to enjoy the easy and quick profits from importation he will abandon the refinery, aradu, he needs to recover his fund as quick as possible and he will break even his investment faster importing than if he goes refining. We’re going to be on a long thing in this country
Aradu...stop panicking.

Now this could be wrong, but let's be honest, why can't government sometimes tell Nigerians the truth...we won't bite.
after using over 10 user accounts to push for a wicked subsidy removal, this is all you could say. Backbencher, subsidywise, Kassandra, and more have been deactivated and now this scam account again.

How do you believe that a massive private project like the Dangote refinery won’t function?

How?

Dangote isn't the fraudster. The people who are paid to be neutral in govt and help move us forward are the problem. They forced Dangote into comisioning an incomplete project, now subsidy is gone and Nigerians who they falsely claimed never benefitted from it are obviously suffering it. This is why some wise people suggested incremental removal that's triggered by verifiable palliatives before another removal. They called Anambra and abia elements. To them only Tinubu loyalists are Lagosians or Yoruba for that matter.

You're not intelligent. What's the business of IPOB with Dangote?

Are you aware that the Dangote cement you're talking about makes the most sales in the South East?

Don't mind that nonentity.

There was a thread on Nairaland where someone stated that, "the Dangote refinery has not been completed that Buhari went and commissioned the project just to take credit for it that a lot of work has to be done and the refinery won't come on stream till end of this year".

I was like, this guy must be mad. What does he again from telling us lies on Nairaland that the project had not been completed. Now, from this news, I believe that guy was telling the whole truth.

Honestly, why is the Nigerian govt renowned for telling lies to its citizens? So the refinery they told us would start operations by July this year is nothing but a notorious lie?🙆🙆

God of Moses, this is nothing but govt of criminality. How come they started commissioning uncompleted projects by those who should know better?

I was thinking why the refinery wont start operations immediately after it was commissioned, I never knew that propagandists and liars were the ones I had invested my time listening to.🎧

It shall never be well with any idiot in this govt whose plan is to lie to the citizens unashamedly henceforth.

Useless people.

the highlighted question you asked was answered by you in the highlighted sentence.

government keeps lying because folks like you always believe them without question.

by the time the truth comes out, it is already too late

With the PIA only companies currently building refineries will be permitted to import refine product. This is to encourage players like total and co to build refinery. Is called backward integration . Dangote refinery and petro chemical comprised of 3 company dangote refinery . Dagaote product depot marketing frim and dangote fertilizer. The fertiler frim is now working and exporting ship and ship of urea @50m usd per shipment .The product marketing company ( 5 bn litres storage and 64 loading gantry) is completed. This subsidary will get fuel for sale from the refinery or import from any where in the world and sell locally. The refining section work in progress .no subsidiary wil wait for another once completed it become operational and mint money to service loan . But I know IPOB crew are pain and want project to fail .and bitter is own by aboki. To add to your pains dangote cement gross 1.76 trillion in gross sales and return 360bn in net profit to this aboki .meaning he makes around 1bn Naira daily.

The usual gibberish and unintelligible write up from a known Kano based jihadist.

It seems members of the southwestern arm of APC are not around to give you the likes you desperately need, as this news of refinery scam hit them so hard.

Nigerians enjoy getting scammed.

If Baba Lagos like he can pay all the small Frys money to pretend he is President, the powers that be will just be laughing. When the time comes, they will give him quit notice. If after six weeks he doesn't comply, they will give him the Gbagbo treatment.

If they don't give him, go to Abuja to do this. Bitter mind = negativity

Anyway, we can't go back to subsidy, even if APC goes tomorrow. We can't be borrowing to fund some countries' kpayo addiction.

It happened in your head. APC never told you that the removal was due to Dangote's refinery

NNPC has removed subsisdy and will be reducing its importation units. They are giving license to more marketers to import just as Dangote too has entered the market. Even when Dangote's refinery begins operations, they will still be issuing the license to anyone interested, it's a free market. If you feel you can import fuel and sell at lower price, it's your business. If you also feel you have rich men that will buy at higher price, it's also your business.
It's not just a Dangote thing!

do other marketers have refinery?

am asking why is dangote being given license to import while he has a refinery?

besides, i thought NNPC said that the refinery was meant to stop importation which is supposed to save forex?

so which grammar are u now speaking?

what is the correlation between NNPC removing subsidy and reducing its "importation units"?

what are those "importation units"?

Nawaoooo, So dangote is now the sole company that will be importing fuel from foreign refineries. Nigeria will never get it right. Over billions of dollars were spent on dangote refinery, still the refinery isn’t functioning. Very bad.

NNPC seems the most foolish and corrupt organization on Earth. You took away the franchise of fuel importation from importers and decided to import
fuel yourself. How come you now give to dangote alone. The measure you have taken to suffer Nigerians is the same measure your families will suffer incurable diseases. Barbaric and wicked Shylocks.

There was a report last year about this.
That the refinery was not near completion, but the storage facility was completed so that dangote can import fuel.
And I kept wondering, why build a refinery if you will still import?

I need to find the link...

Please stop a while and think deep. Don't be fooled by the silly assertion that Nigeria is doing father Christmas to neighbouring countries. There can never be an end to the so-called "subsidies" if they keep importing refined products and the naira keeps depreciation.
CFA is now stronger than Naira so it is cheaper for smugglers to come but fuel here and bribe your customs officers, ship it across the borders and sell to make profit.
