mikeapollo: It is not a foolish assertion. It was happening And Nigeria is not the only country with this problem. Libya, Venezuela and Iran all.heavily subsidise fuel AND all have big issues with smuggling of fuel. Libya is even resorting to bombing its fuel smugglers. |

Re: NNPC Grants Dangote License To Import Fuel by BATified23(m): 6:46am On Jun 14, 2023 |
lexy2014: Let me break it down for you: 1. NNPC is not stopping marketers from owing refineries infact they don't care where you g wey fuel from. The market is open to everyone. If you feel refinery is cheaper for you, go and open it. If you feel importation is cheaper, go ahead. 2. Dangote has become a marketer hence the need to get an importation license, he's in the market to compete. He will buy local Crude oil, refine and also import. Once his production is at full capacity, he can decide to stop importation. 3. It is not stopping importation of fuel that's saving forex but stopping the cost the government bears i.e. Subsidy. What this simply means is that government will not pay anything for us to get fuel cheaper hence all marketers including NNPC itself will import or refine fuel at their best rate. 4. The correlation between removing subsidy and reducing its own importation unit is that NNPC will not be the sole importer again unlike before that NNPC will buy at for example 550 and sell to marketers 180 who resell at 187. 2 Likes |

Vboot1: Subsidy is like a certain amount the government contributes to reduce the cost of fuel for the people..It leads to a fall in the price of the subsidised product. Now they have removed subsidy...That's the reason we buy fuel at 480 - 550 per litre... So Dangote has also been included to import fuel since no refinery including Dangote's is working to refine the crude... This means we have not choice than import Fuel.. Dangote is simply a Marketer at this time.. 2 Likes |

I hope this is not a ploy to import extremely dirty and highly leaded fuel that damages vehicles and export the derivatives of Nigerian crude which is used to make premium products used to power supercars and race cars?! 2 Likes 1 Share |

franugo:What valid conclusion? Let's assume you are Dangote. You took loans and years to build a refinery and then you conclude that the refinery will just be built so that you can import fuel...lol and then use the facility that you took billions to build just for importation..lol. If this is a valid conclusion to you then it means something is probably wrong with the left side of your brain. |

Why would dangote get the license to import fuel, Chai! naija is dead. We don't have a country just a slum of corrupt individuals. Since his refinery won't start working till 2024 why can't nnpc allow the fuel marketers to import petrol, why is it dangote Shebi I said it the refinery is built on water and that place is not a solid ground. Water will wash his refinery away |

lexy2014: You're the one shifting goal post here. What are the methods to get fuel in Nigeria? 1. Import 2. Refine Dangote went for option 2 first before going for option 1 Your Number 2 Question: Fuel importation is not the problem of the country but subsidy payments on fuel importation. Nigeria cannot stop fuel importation until Dangote and other refineries are fully functional. Dangote wants to explore every option available. Refer to closure of border when our rice isn't fit for consumption yet. I will ignore Number 3 and Number 4 because you just introduced them into the argument 5. See attached

This is the game they have been planning for long, why would dangote import fuel for what now, that means his refinery is not set for operation. The past government just did everything possible to commission projects that are not ready |

So Dangote is not ready for operations again, well this is another means of placing afflictions on poor Nigerians . why can't Nnpc fix at least 2 refineries for Nigerians? so Dangote is richer than Nigeria God have Mercy. Anyway I know this country problem has no solution except God's intervention |

BATified23: 1. Do other marketers have refineries? Simple yes or no. 2. If you say fuel importation isn't the problem but fuel subsidy, then answering these questions shouldn't be a problem for you: 3. which currency will the marketers and NNPC use to import fuel? is it naira or forex? 4. what currency does government use in paying for subsidy? 5. How does your screenshot answer this question: what are those "importation units"? 1 Like

Re: NNPC Grants Dangote License To Import Fuel by BATified23(m): 9:20am On Jun 14, 2023 |
lexy2014: 1. Yes. NNPC is a marketer and she has refineries too . Bua is also another marketer building its own refinery. Dangote did not hold anybody 5. You can book the next flight to NNPC head office and request for the data you require. I have shown you what I have and if it's not sufficient, enjoy yourself |
