Please someone should help me out here, i have a couple of questions concerning thus visa application.
I got admissions to University of vermont and Delaware, i got no funding for both, I'm considering Delaware cause the COA is cheaper but i faculty member at vermont offered to give me 7k funding, half of which I'll get only of i maintain a Gpa of 3.5, now my question is for the purpose of the visa interview, does it make any difference if i go with either of them? And also can i start my visa application before getting the I-20 from the university?
Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 17 by dotbot: 8:23am On Jun 14, 2023
You need to request i20 from the school you intend to attend, and that’s what you use for your visa application and take to the visa interview. It doesn’t matter which one you choose as long as you can state your reason for that school being your preference.

Reflected where? You have to fill in your details on the fmj website to retrieve your receipt. If that is what you have done, and it is still not showing, then get the tracking number and see where your money has gone.
You may also send DHS an email to alert them of your challenge. They often advise against making a second payment. They may help you to resolve your issues.

Good morning all,

Asking on behalf of a friend whose EA request was denied yesterday. She applied and was denied the same day. What can be done please? To the best of my knowledge, it's either she gets a reschedule date if she is lucky or pay another visa fee. Yesterday is outside the 60 days window to her resumption date but she called the embassy and was encouraged to proceed. Kindly help out

Are you talking about me? Because this is also my situation. I can't reschedule again because I had cancelled a few times during the covid when I didnt get favorable interview date to meet up with resumption.
I applied for EA yesterday and almost immediately received an email that it was denied. The embassy moved around my interview date again and was given an interview one month after my resumption, so now I dont know what next to do? is anyone going through the same? how do i get out of this situation?
Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 17 by kimpoyo13: 11:42am On Jun 14, 2023
Yes it was, my first date was Jan 2024. So I kept checking to reschedule my appointment

Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 17 by kimpoyo13: 11:45am On Jun 14, 2023
My friend isn't on nairaland, in total I know 3 people who had their EA request denied yesterday. I have a feeling hers was because it was outside the 60 days window to the resumption date on the i-20

Since it's exactly 12 months since you paid, i think it's best you send them an email to confirm the exact expiration date.

I think it's just new visa fee. But if your SEVIS fee is more than one year, then u can reach out to them to know if u are to renew or not.

Pls was it Lagos or Abuja?

Hello everyone.
who knows why I am receiving this notification?

Your request to schedule an appointment has been received and will be reviewed. You will receive an email once your request is approved.

I saw some dates last week for feb2024. but currently, I am receiving this notification.
Who knows why and how long it takes to get the email response?
Can I keep trying or just wait that is if trying will prolong the wait?

Thanks for your anticipated response.

School: Youngstown State University
Program: English Language and Literature
Graduate Teaching Assistantship

VO: Have you travelled outside Nigeria before?

Me: Yes, I have visited South Africa, Kenya, Tanzania, Senegal and Ghana to attend conferences to learn about current educational trend

VO: I can see you are going to Youngstown State Uni…. I cut in

Me: University to pursue my master's program in English language and literature, where I will be focusing on literature and composition. The program is 24months and 36 credit hours of coursework, and I will be taking classes in language, literature, creative writing... VO cut in

VO: Your post-study plan?

Me: After my 2 years master's program, I will be returning to Nigeria to take over the activities of my school, and I will immediately be applying the skill sets acquired from this program to establish an English writing centre that enables the student to think more deeply about effective writing and improve their writing skills, and I will also be collaborating with other Nigerians writers towards developing a model that will help solve the problem faced by the young writing prospects. And I also have plans to expand my school to other communities and states with the target of improving English language skills and other administrative subjects.

VO: Everything looks good. Take this sheet it will guide you on how to pick your passport. Enjoy your stay.

Me: Thank you sir

The visa fee remains $160 however the exchange rate changes from time to time.

As at two days ago, it’s still N75200

Hello All,

I am just putting this out there for people who just got denied. Please note, there is always so much urge to try again without correcting the main issue that caused your denial.

This happened to me and I am regretting that I tried it again. I was denied Dec 2021, two days after I got new MRV, got lucky with EA that got approved and got another date for January 2022 but I still got denied because I didn’t address the main issue.

It’s over a year now and I want to try again. I now know better and my situation has changed 360 degrees however, The truth still remains that the more denials one has , the lesser the chances of been approved. Anyways, miracle no Dey tire Jesus and I am doing this Afraid all the same.

So guys, please ensure you understand why you were denied and probably defer your admission and then try again at a later time.

May we all have good luck before these VOs.
