whether home or away the 1-0 was upset, my point remains we weren’t a 100% perfect team
In that regards absolutely false as Ethiopia partook in the Nations Cup before Nigeria and won a Nations Cup before Nigeria using the argument of Past Nations Cup winner cited by one of you. It was not an upset.

1. Ethiopia beating Nigeria in 1993 was an upset at that time as they were no longer a powerhouse in African football. Winning the nations cup before Nigeria isn't evidence of strength as that is still an immutable fact but will be ridiculous to suggest Ethiopia beating Nigeria now won't be an upset

2. We escaped the Ugandan challenge by the skin of our teeth. Rufai's penalty save was what kept Nigeria from being eliminated. The match ended 0-0

3. Uche Okafor was not home-based in 1994 (a quick online search to review his career will clarify this). The only home-based players were Fuludu, Semitoje and Ugbade.
- Fuludu saw no action
- Semitoje started the semi-finals and was catastrophic, had to be replaced by Okafor in his fullback role
- Ugbade came in as a substitute in 3 games:
- for Oliseh, against Zaire after the match was well and truly won
- for Keshi late on in the game against The Ivory Coast
- for Okocha against Zambia, after which our midfield completely collapsed

Exactly, he wasn't "home based" , just like Ighalo for instance wouldn't be categorized as home based if he starts training with a local club after years of playing abroad

Ethiopia beat us 1-0 in Addis Ababa not Lagos, Enugu or Ibadan(where Super Eagles more often played home matches). Uganda could not beat us in Kampala even with their dreaded Majid Musisi or however his surname was spelt then.
I don't remember Rufai being in goal for the 0-1 loss to Ethiopia. He was the Captain for the 6-0 drubbing of Ethiopia and scored a penalty kick goal in the match.

Slow down when you're reading. I said he was in goal in Kampala for the nil - nil draw with Uganda.

Yes Ethiopia beat us in Addis, I didn't say it was in Lagos.

In 91-93 we played all games in Lagos except the 2-0 win against Congo, where we only used home based players. That game was in Enugu. Finidi then of Sharks and Fuludu of Bendel Insurance scored the goals.

Just before the world cup in 1994 we played our last friendly match against Georgia in Ibadan. We won that 5-1 after going one nil down. I remember all those years very well because that's about when I started watching football (1989-1993).

Bad pitch
Poor Match coverage

Can never ever be their problem going forward for the next decade to come.

Let me make an analogy. David Terzungwe Tyavkase played for Gabros International and Elkanemi Warriors before moving to Enyimba and I watched him in Maiduguri. His career profile on Google your favorite search deletes his days at Gabros . I remember his name first rang a bell with BCC LIONS of Gboko(98/99) followed by Gabros International . The fact that his days at those named clubs are not captured by your search machine does not erase CLUB evidence of his being registered with them and having played for them

We always only have 1 or 2 at most that are "good enough" to host. And that's just pitch. The rest are nothing to write home about.

The goalkeeper did good today. Even the best goalkeepers will concede the two goals he conceded today. But his saves were crucial.
He seems a calm and organised shot stopper, and I also noticed he has good ball delivery.
Excellent observations

All those sudan, ethiopia bla bla that won afcon before we gained independence are now back to their minnows status…their minnow status began immediately after some of them won afcon those years

How did you start your football career?

Well, I started like any other Nigerian youth. I started with street football but began to play club football with a small club known as Golden Age of Gboko. In 1996 I joined BCC Lions Junior team. In less than a yea, I was promoted to the senior team where I played for two seasons before moving to Gabros International of Nnewi. I played one season in Gabros and then moved to El-Kanemi Warriors where I played the FA Cup. I then returned to Gabros for another half season and during mid-season I moved to back to El-Kanemi. From El-Kanemi, I moved to Enyimba in the 2002 season. Luckily when I joined Enyimba, we won the Champions League back to back. I played for like four years in Enyimba before joining Lobi Stars in the 2007/2008 season. I played one season and then left Lobi mid-season back to Enyimba. I did another three seasons with Enyimba before returning to Lobi at the beginning of this season.

But they beat Brazil yeah?

Look, all this one you are saying is off tangent. No one says Morocco is invincible.

The point is this: Morocco vs SA saw Morocco play their first Afcon Qualifiers game since the WC without their key midfield men and first choice GK. So screaming SA beat Morocco doesn't sound legit at all.

Morocco had 4 of their starters missing.

You dey mind this one? Even the first SA goal was the GK's blunder... I don't really reply this guy most times, just arguing things that should be known on a norms, and rudely at times 😒... The point is SA can't beat the complete Moroccan squad - and that, is a fact!

My Man of the match was Victor Osimhen. Scored 2 goals and should've had 3 assists.
The assists part pain me! Our wingers are not ruthless in front of goal... Osimhen is not just lucky with assists since the Guinea-Bissau game. He gave Ndidi a sweet through-pass in the GNB game which he (Ndidi) wasted! Same yesterday with Chukwueze (x2) and Moses Simon (x1). Baba for don get close to 13 assists in the GWG now 😭! Match that only first half we would've easily Sao Tome-d Sierra Leone 🇸🇱.

If NFF/Peseiro kno what their doing the starting 11 for the Sao Tome game in September will look something like this.

GK - Victor Sochima (Rivers utd) / Amas Obasogie (Bendel insurance); one half each

RB - Festy Ebosele (Udinese)
CB - Jordan Torunarigha (KAA Gent)
CB - Caleb Okoli (Atalanta)
LB - Bruno Onyeamechi (Boavista)

CM - Daniel Daga - (Dakkada FC) Yusuf Alhassan (Royal Antwerp); one half each
CM - Tochukwu Nnadi (Botev Plovdiv)
CAM - Devine Nwachukwu (Bendel Insurance)
DM - Raphael Onyedika (Club Brugge)

ST - Gift Orban (KAA Gent)
ST - Victor Boniface (Union St. Gilloise)

With one or 2 maybe 3 changes depending on form, injuries etc.

Simple message to the players go on the pitch and do your job. Win your individual duels and we win the game very comfortably. Prove you should be seriously considered as part of future squads. Finish.

Just watch what we will do. Bookmark this page. We will do invite 70/80 % of the players you just watched yesterday. Including Musa for experience undecided

We could also be working overtime to commit Noni Madueke, Carney Chukwuemeka, Tosin, Destiny Udogie, Festy Ebosele, Caleb Okoli etc. If we fail after genuinely trying then we know where we stand and move on.

The way Osimhen held that defender, kept the ball in play and delivered a goal-begging cross/assist to Iheanacho while Basco made that comment is one of the reasons I rate him over Erling Haaland.
