If they have allowed GEJ to remove subsidy in 2012 by now we should be looking at N300 NNPC price.

Do you know the weird thing about Nigerians? The suffering they endured under Buhari and they are willing to endure BAT they won't endure it under GEJ or any Igbo man as President. A lot of people enjoyed under GEJ yet they tagged him an Igbo man and cursed the hell out of him. As if na Igbo man spoil Nigeria.

Well, let's not be thrifty with the whole truth!

GEJ had a rare chance to do great things but he failed! He allowed evil and corrupt cabals run his government aground! He was WEAK!

If he had stood his ground and pursued his people-centered vision and gone against those messing up his administration, he would have defeated Buhari and APC in a landslide! We won't be here today!

So, GEJ was a key part of our troubles today! It's not just about his ethnicity and religious background!

Even the Bible says:

"If a man's ways please the Lord, He will cause even his enemies to be at peace with him"!

Coren will not find it easy.how many members does it have.
It is a just not even enough for what the nation needs.
And now it is been forced to make it even hard

They will have to register as many engineering as possible to be able to get substantial amount from them. More quack will register

Orosanye report gathered dust on JONATHAN's table.

The same report gathered more dust on BUHARI's table.

Now, the report has started gathering plenty more dust on President TINUBU's table.

Why is it hard for these leaders to save cost, starting from them?!
Any policy that will affect them will not see the light of the day

Such a myopic and linear way of thinking.

But the UK is made up of well defined nations with well defined boundaries who have chosen to be a union. I have listened to the Scots bitterly deride the English and the English doing the same in return. Despite the differences they respect each other's boundaries and seem to think on a macro economic level--it is better for them to cooperate and be part of that union at the moment.

Nigeria needs that too. The only drawback is that in contrast to the Uk which has only 3 or 4 large homogeneous ethnic nations--Nigerian ethnic groups run into the hundreds. The crisis can still be averted if each ethnic group votes or chooses whom they want to align and be with then when they reach a certain size in population and area--they can present a common political and economic front.

It is easier developing competitive advantages from the ground up if each area is challenged to build their skills and resources for export**. That is better compared to the way everything is centralized in a very self-serving winner takes all model.

**Do you know how much pork China consumes every single year? They have humongous pig farms and yet those are not even enough for their population. Any Nigerian state or area that decides to rear quality pigs in the millions purely for Chinese export will have a very reliable foreign exchange earner thee.

How could Federal be paying professional bodies like ICAN , COREN etc with thousands of members

Have you vetted the accounts of the three I mentioned before?

I am not the government who is vetting and auditing them every year, with huge bribe being paid to these auditors to hide their malfeasance.

The same story with JAMB until an honest man got there, after Dibu Ojerinde and his family have stolen the place blind.

They should cut their own salaries and other benefits as well.

The cost of governance is too high in Nigeria.

Reduce NASS budget from N228.1b to 50b

What of the cost of running your own local government? Is that one low?

Do you even know what your own LGA councillor receives in salary, benefits in kind and allowances, compared to the total package of PHC nurses and primary school teachers? Abi that is not important

Again you repeating what I am saying
Vetting of accounts!
If theft cannot confirm accounts .what remain for the government itself
Is it not theft of funds?
So what is the goal if the fg lacks effective vetting of accounts of mdas and councils to seal leaked funds
You should come to nnpcl to hear oil loss theory🤧🤧🤧

Is like you don't know the work of the councils.tgat is why you are ignorant of the impact?
If you schooled in Nigeria.you will not debate about WAEC and NECO
If you have a medical personnel you will not even argue about nursing council
Then with coren.i will leave it to the time when your goernment will shouting that they few engineers you have are flying out with MotoGP 3 bikes

For the sake of this argument, I will make some clarification so that you can know whether I am ignorant or not. It is always easy to classify an opposing argument as ignorance on Nairaland.
First, WAEC and NECO ARE EXAM bodies.
Argue it whether the way you like it, COREN and I CAN ARE not EXAM bodies. They are association of people of the same profession regulating their professions and conducting exams for reasons as given in their various charter.
Second, is it the fundings of the past that made members of COREN not to fly out with motor bikes? Perhaps, it is the fundings that made ICAN members stayed back.

As enlightened as you are even though I acknowledge my ignorance, do you have an idea of what ICAN for example rakes in from members annual dues? Do you have an idea of how much I CAN exams cost these days?
So, if govt stops funding now, the councils will no longer regulate their members which is their primary aim and objective?
Can you take time to educate me on a major input from just one of the councils in the form of policy paper or statement in the last few years?

Help your ignorant friend.

It is the height of irresponsiblility!
It is like saying they wil stop finding of NJC or civil service commission etc
U remove subsidy and now shrinking your responsibility
What exactly do they want to do ?
They don't want to fund education, agriculture, economy, regulatory bodies, increase in taxation etc
This must be allowed

Commissions and councils are VERY different sir.
Are you comparing Civil service commission with ICAN?
Or are you comparing COREN with NJC?

Your comment only succeeded in highlighting the quality and character of the three leaders.
One is timid because opposition resisted, Another is clueless and the other one is bold to dare where others could not.

COREN will increase and exploits their members through unscrupulous, unsolicited homologous yearly dues. grin

The professional bodies are not innovative at all.
The worst of the professional bodies is NSE and COREN. Anyway, this is an eye opener for them to control activities of quackery in the system.

Advise your brothers who are bricklayers to desist from parading themselves as engineers in the building industries building shanties called houses.

I rest my case.

For your first sentence, they have always been increasing the dues without nothing to show for it.
For your second statement, it can not be more truthful than you have said.it. innovation, Zero.
For your last statement, if you are into a bit of construction, you will know that these days, everybody is an engineer. From the architect who now supervises the building of a house from. the beginning to the end to the man engaged to do the wiring.and even to the bricklayer who gets building contract to construct from the beginning to the end.

Na now, COREN wan wake up? Abeegi!

I will take them serious when they cut down politicians salary by half and remove all allowances they enjoy thereby making political seats unattractive
funny enough, you should understand that salaries and allowances is not where our monies are being siphoned but through fathom contracts, white elephant projects and kick backs. For example If you pay house of rep members 1million every month it will amount to 360 million in a month, yet one or two will make triple of such through just awarding a fathom project in a ministry or agency. Some heads of agencies make far money than political appointees.

How I wish that Pharmacy council of Nigeria can utilize this opportunity well by closing down all illegal drug markets (open drug markets) and aggressively implementing the national drug distribution guidelines so that all drug supply chains whether manufacturers, distributors, wholesalers and retailers can be thoroughly regulated. This will ensure that everyone pays for annual registration thereby multiplying the council's revenue.

PCN is in a position to make more money than even some banks if the right things are done.
