This is more like it. Closed period comes to mind when insiders are restricted; and corporate raiders can have the field.

That's over 10% shares of FBNH.

Oh well!! Its Oba Otudeko again!
These people knows what they're enjoying in this bank, so they don't want to back down easily.

But this Oba get mind and money sha! Imagine him buying FIrst Bank@19/20! shocked
Definitely, they must have seen value there. About 2.5B spent today again.

Otedola needs to step up his game.

All well and good. Let the competition begins!

I just dey reason, what if what if... cheesy

I would have sold it but I don't use the broker often. Been receiving small small dividends from it.

CHAI...

This reminds me of my AccessBank shares I abandoned with MAYFIELD since 2008. I've been receiving dividends since then but haven't considered moving it away from them since they got off the brokerage bulala

11% was recorded to have been purchased by Oba.
* As it is now, he has become the highest single shareholder in FBNH.
- Otedola: 5.57%
This baba like vawulence so much....
Let's see how Otedola will respond to this....they pursued him in TRANSCORP, will he concede to defeat here too?
Hope he's not the one that sold at premium again..because he's average price was less than N10... smiley
- Let's hope it's not planned work btw Oba and Otedola as well.....because those ogas can be something else.
We see how it goes.....but whichever way, I think it's a win win for shareholders.

Otudeko na bad news for the long term prospect of FBN.

At 80 years what is he looking for?

FBN lost it when he became the chairman of bank

Otedola's hands must be tied right now by the closed period. He cannot buy nor sell. He can only wait till the q2 results are out

Deadlytruth:

Exactly.
Otedola's name might just be the SA fuel. Imagine a volume of over 4bn in just a day.

Who offloaded is also important. Some of these transacts are actually rescue missions. TRANSCORP is no exemption. If the buyer has an eye for value, the buyer can transform the company positively, then magic can occur. Sometimes the magic takes a while to happen or may never happen. We must be guided by the F/ value of any stock.

Sure Otedola did not have that volume. Oba has had strong influenced in FBN for quite a while. Possibly new sets of investors altogether are taking position. To gather that volume must have taken some time.

All would be revealed in the next few days.

The closed period is always before the public declaration of FS.

Most (if not all) companies on NGX have current closed period from July 1 till 24hours after results are released. From first day after end of quarter till 24hours after results are released.
Standard practice.

I don't think they are new set of investors but Oba's faction...it's a planned work which they must have been planning since he was ousted from FBN board.

We should expect counter action from the Adenuga/Adeduntan's faction as well.
We needed to know Otedola's faction and who brought him in, or maybe he just saw opportunity and entered that time.

We'll likely see rain of billions in coming days......
11% no be moinmoin, let them sha come and mop up on the floor......retailers need to chop... grin

And they waited till the closed period to execute when others cannot officially counter. Interesting days ahead.

FBNH is a very huge business with many profitable subsidiaries. A giant in the sector, limited by insiders.

Thanks for your insights.

Oga forget closed period, that rule is not for some people. smiley
- FIrst Bank's billionaire issue was an unfinished business......... especially now that the Former CBN governor has been suspended.
- CBN had hands in the choice of Adeduntan as the Board chairman.....
- It was a battle among 4 major billionaires, of which Adenuga must have somehow withdraw tactically.....now battle among Otedola, the Odukales and Oba Otudeko.
- Now, Oba Otudeko has some billions to throw around from the sales of Honeywell possibly.....so he's probably staging a comeback, which may probably be met with resistance from the other parties/factions.
* Needed to update myself again self.

Well, we leave story for unfolding events...

Remember that when someone is increasing their stakes, someone else is reducing theirs. For every buy, there is someone selling, and if that someone is willing to sell loads of it, it doesn't necessarily mean that there is a commensurate increase in fundamental value.

I am no expert, but I would prefer a stock that is moving up with little volume. At least we know that the majority agrees that it holds value, and the few who sell want significant returns for giving up their position. cheesy grin

Those selling might have their eyes on another moving or about to move target

@Ajibade123, YES we can buy FBNH now. However, be aware that the stock price has 50% chance of going up, and 50% chance of falling at the current price. Although, recent news' favours rising in price.

International Breweries. Buy, Hold, or Sell?

https://independent.ng/international-breweries-declares-43-7bn-gross-profit-at-46th-agm/

From looking at the chart, I see sellers waiting to dump at around the 45.3 to 48.3 region. If the price breaks that resistance, then 60 may be possible.
