Which group is that,I also want to join the group.
Send me a mail, I'll tell you the group, I don't want to cast it.

Though, i made all these friends in 2016, not now all these yahoo boys have invaded Facebook and oyibo people no trust Nigerians again.

So you might find it difficult to see someone really confident in having a Nigerian in his or her inbox.

Yeah, very good at it, even when we talk on video call or normal WhatsApp call, I use the language, Belmira speaks English very well but we don't communicate in that, we rather communicate in Portuguese, that's what helped me build up.

My bro that's studying history and international relations, I'm the one teaching him these 3 languages.

Learning languages is very good, Romelu Lukaku speaks 9 international languages or so and that's very good for him.
.

Interesting!

Personally there's no Yoruba spoken around me I can't hear even though I haven't been to The South West before.

Individual level of assimilation differs, some think I'm Yoruba but if I tell them I'm Igala they will calm down...

I think we can easily hear but can't speak fluent Yoruba like the Yorubas and Okun does.

Note:
There's no Yoruba spoken around me that I won't hear but I'd rather reply you back in English language cry
All my Lagos driver's in my line of business speak Yoruba to me likewise some customers, sometimes I fell like being blunt.'Emi Oshomo Yoruba' but since I can hear them I just remain calm.

Iasked cause i noticed that alot of people on this thread keep saying" Igala and of course Yoruba"
I have never met an Igala person before and i do think since by proximity, they're closer to the North and East, then there will be some cultural and maybe Language affiliation. In fact, seeing what Ebira sounds like, I concluded Igala and Ebira would prolly be alike as Ebira language isnt related to Yoruba

For a person that hasnt been to the SW, U sabi Yoruba...Thats an edge for for u guys
I'm happy to know this

I dey find Igala people up and down now, I must know what the language sounds like

Bless you for this. I don't undestand what it is with the mordern age Nigerians that only speak english to their kids and totally neglecting their own language. Only God knows how they spread the stupid mentality that your child will speak bad english if you continue to speak your native language to the child.

The whites really fuked with the black man's brain, to the extent that blackman wants to lose his complete identity. As for me, I speak and write yoruba fluently with a little bit of hausa. All my kids will bear Yoruba names and will understand at least 1 Nigerian fluently.
Honestly, many black people are just fooolish people.

You will see them at family occasions with their elders, siblings and cousins, discussing and speaking in their mother-tongue fluently. But when their children come closer and they want to speak to the child, you will see these fooools, who were speaking their language a micro-second ago, just switch to English because they feel it is a cool language to speak with their kids and make the kids look cute.

When you go to parties, you try and observe this.

LOL , you are very funny. I don't know where you're from but one thing I can tell you is that
Y oruba isn't dying in the next 50 years , neither is Hausa or Igbo . Check the data on the number of people who speak each of these languages and check the data on the languages that have phased out with the past century .... Do you know how many people will have to die within the next 50 years for any of these languages to " die" according to you .

Your comment reeks of self hate , you can speak english all you want but that won't make you an english man . So come to terms with reality and stop all the nonsense colonial mindset.

By the way , show the data source of 80% of Nigerian youths speaking "English only "

Honestly, you should feel sad and go question the quality of education you received and grew up with.

You have not been equipped with critical thinking and analytical reasoning.

These capabilities have not been adequately tested in your life and this is so observable the way you gutturally assert & blurt nonsense with so much aplomb (despite deep ignorance and little-to-no research)!

You are really a prime example of the standards and fate of most Nigerian "yoots".

No offence bro, but you're actually the insanely stupid one here. More than half of the population speak at least one indigenous language and English... Even in some parts of the North it's Hausa/fulfude (or whatever indigenous language ) and Arabic. This statement is backed by data , I'll suggest you look it up

If you're so daft that you think you can just excrete data out of your gut and expect us to foolishly go along with it , it won't work bros and again you're really a stupid soul for that.

If you hate yourself and where you come from so much that you'll rather speak english instead of your own language , I'll suggest you look up videos online on how to make peace with yourself , because bros you're a NIgerian whether you like it or not and that's your identity anywhere you go even till you die .

It's just sad. Seeing little children bearing silly funny english names these days just makes me wonder what's wrong with our society. Just like the silly boy I quoted who wants Nigerian languages to die , many of them just hate themselves ... because I don't undestand why you'll come from a place and not want to identify with the place, through your name , language and even food ...( there are many silly ones like that too who will say they don't eat "swallow" , forgetting that that food that you love to eat is a normal native food of a particular place )

Something is definitely wrong with the black man. the Nigerian especially

Let me shock you!

I can bet less than 20% of Black Africans today have indigenous names.

Majority have Western or Arabic names. And many continue to give their children such names today, but yet whine that Whites and Arabs don't treat them as equals.

They make they race look like a race of people with IQ of baboons, yet wonder why they are seen as baboons.

The fact that your fore fathers were colonised doesn't mean your brain should be colonised , it doesn't mean your whole identity and every thing that makes you should be colonised in this mordern day and age.

Trace your roots and find peace , you need to be true to who you are ... You're a lost man bro .

Not really.

Yorubas still mostly keep to Yoruba first names. Maybe at the rate of 80%; it is their Muslims that mostly kind of get Yorubanised Arabic-names.

Efik/Ibibio/Ejagham are doing well. With about 80% local first names.

Bini/Esan are doing okay with about 70% in my estimation.

Igbos love their English names. Maybe about 40% to have English first names.

The remaining South-South and Middle-Belt tribes are mainly fuuucked. They are lost.

Hausas have lost their names a long time ago. Majority have Arabics names. They are finished!!!

Going outside Nigeria, the Eastern, Central and Southern Africans are cursed. It is 99% no local names.
