Another angle and point to note is that the amount in question owed to Ecobank is between N5b - N13b, while the estimated sum for the acquisition of those FBNH shares is around N100b. Even if he is forced to pay the N13b, he can still muster remaining amount (N87b) to get enough shares that will make him take control of the bank, which other shareholders may not want. Interesting times ahead because yours truly like following where there is billions.

If the other investors with substantial holdings like Adenuga, Otedola and Odukale Ι—ont want him as the chairman of the company they can form a bloc, his representative will only be a board member but can't exert control. Although he can always earn dividends based on his holdings.

He is hiding on the technicality of the law in order not to pay his loan, such a person should not be allowed to exert control over a bank

Personally, I think Oba Otudeko and FBNH triggered the bears that is currently ravaging NGX. The market thrives on information and a little information can trigger massive bull or bears. The moment issues arose from the take-over bid, FBNH started downward movement which affected other banks and whenever you see Zenith and GTCo falling, the herds mentality easily comes in and people rush to sell.

I am interested in how it goes because there is money to be made from the saga. The matter is more of a concern to shareholders of Flour Mills of Nigeria and Honeywell than even FBNH. I see a situation where other major shareholders like Otedola and Odukale will increase their stakes in the near future. Within now and 6 months time, some will make millions in FBNH. For me, I will start buying from Monday.

Due Diligence please.

I think so as well that Otudeko/ETI/FBNH issue triggered the bears. It's resolution and good Q2 numbers amongst other political issues is needed for the bulls to resume.

I think also there is money to be made on two sides from FBNH. On one side are the directors and management, always making money with the high Opex structure of FBNH and avoidable unrecovered Impairment losses. And on the other side are shareholders who enter at discount prices, provided mngt corruption is reduced like it had been in the last 5years. Unlike the very heavy Impairments of years 2015 to 2017. Otudeko wants to enter at discount prices and eat from both sides.

It became a court case from high court to court of appeal up to supreme court. Otudeko lost from the high court up to the supreme court.

The new trick is to declare bankruptcy in order not to pay

This is a case that dragged for over 10 years.

Such a person should not be allowed by CBN to have control of a bank

Small messies and see cry everywhere.

But this is one problem I have with chart people, how come charts never pick things like this until after they happen and then they will now attempt to use charts to explain it.
@ojesymsym, IF posts from people like ositadima1, currentprice, janga and my humble self warning about possibility of market reversal is not enough; I wonder why you have problem with "chart people". In my last week market review, I even warned that some sectors were slowing down and people needs to be cautious, there is no problem with chartist except you overlooked their posts because of your "problem" with them.

@Agbalowomeri, this is a herculean task, I must confess.
However, with available "market" data on Pa Emma, TA shows he was most likely born before Nigeria civil war in 1967; approx. 56 years ago!

IF Pa Emma was very active during 2008 market crash; rock Madonna song - La Isla Bonita in 1987; and could recall how late Prof Akin Adesola built UNILAG's Senate with N15m in 1984 (using internally generated funds and donation), then Pa Emma should be almost as old as Nigeria Independence (1960) cheesy

However, to be on the conservative side, Support is provided at 1967 (+/- 5)
Happy Weekend all!
