The day tribalism, ethnicity and religion brought their ugly hands to play divisive politics in our country, the day our collective voices to shout down the common enemy of our progress and peace died, and they started exploiting us from that angle like a cankerworm.

Nothing like market forces when NNPCL is the one setting the price for other marketers to copy and adjust their own prices. We are not fo0ls.
The problem of Nigerians now in this NNPCL.

They should run a thorough audit and investigation on NNPCL now, they'll see that bulk of what they are reaping from Nigerians is going into some people's pocket and unaccounted for.

Sure, as usual.

Nigeria's market forces doesn't bring down prices, it usually increases it.

See you. How much is dollar today...do you care to know? There is no way a USD would exchange for 830 naira and you expect petrol to still sell at 490/500 naira which was the price at which we bought fuel per liter the moment we started to buy usd at 645 naira to 1 dollar at the I and E window.

Have you bothered to ask why dollars jumped from N645 to N830 in just one month? It has to do with more dollars chasing the same Naira. NNPC granted licences to import petrol, and those importers needed to buy scarce dollars in the open market. After this round of imports runs out the Marketers would need to change their Naira for dollars again for the next round of imports. I am sure by then the dollar would be close to N900

Yorubas are not Unity Beggars. The original unity beggar was and will remain your political hero Zik. Maybe you live in a cave, but I am sure others of your ilk have been hearing about Yoruba nation agitations. Now that Obi is not president, you're accusing others of being unity beggars when it is obvious that you people want to rip the country apart simply because you don't have the presidency. That's your only motive and it's sick.

You call the SW region barren. That makes me know that you're being deliberately stupid.

Isa wicked situation we passing through right now in are we nation..the people dem ma suffer
Shege reloaded....Imagine no protest from Nigerians
lets start telling ourselves the truth and stop pretending if not this nation will be doomed in the nearest future
When a person from the three major tribe is the president..forget it you won't see a united protest from the masses...endsars protest the north didn't participate because their son was the president
Now with the hell we have been subjected to still no protest will happen because a son from a major tribe is the president( tinubu)...same thing will also occur if igbo man is the president

The only time we can see a united protest is when a person from minority tribe becomes the president...take for example subsidy removal of Jonathan in 2012...the whole nation united and there was protest despite the cheap and low cost of things...lets stop pretending...

It's easier for the big three to unite against a minority president than for the country to unite against a president from any of the big three. So unfortunate. That's the tragedy of Nigeria. We are doomed...please spread this news to every youth so we can unite..I'm not only a weed smoker, a pussy banger, a keyboard warrior And a drunkard but me I tell you I think critically

But you are Obidients now. Didn't you support someone from the 3 major tribes?

I think at this juncture, the Government should do something before people are pushed to the Wall. Imagine the adverse effects on people. Things are getting harder by the day. Government should speak to the people before they go the streets. "Aran ni awon eniyan seriously"

I don't know why people are backing BAT, he put the cart before the horse. What is happening now is because he didn't make provision for Nigerians before abruptly removal of subsidy.

It has little to do with market forces and more to do with black people being shameless race of people.

How can Nigeria depend on Europe to refine oil extracted from their backyard and the refined products shipped back to them for purchase in this 2023? West Africa has a large deposit of natural resources that they don't know exist. They rely on the West and China to point the resources out, mine and dictate the price. Their leaders are happy to get tokens back to buy shiny SUVs and indulge in their fantasies.

In all, don't forget that we are the most "educated". No! We attend school the most but are the least educated because evidently Nigerians do not know what education is. Is there anything about Nigeria that points to about 10 educated people in the whole country? It is not about blowing grammar--too many empty barrels with degrees.

Well put.
We need to hear Oby Ezekwesili's current take on this. Tinubu has done exactly what she regaled about on her social media post 6 years ago.

LegendHero:
This is just like Oby Ekwesili proposed in 2017.

I think Nigeria itself as a country is confused. Before now, we’ve always heard several theories of how subsidy will go, how NNPC monopoly need to go, how there should be full deregulation in the petroleum sector, how market force must decide petrol price, and how they should allow multiple marketers to import the product.

Almost all the above have been implemented by Tinubu. However, the pain that comes with it is unbearable for Nigerians.

This is now where it gets interesting. Almost everybody that was against subsidy removal during Jonathan government are now supporting subsidy removal and Vice versa.

Almost everyone that quoted economic theories about how subsidy is a scam and bla bla bla are now quoting economic theory to say subsidy shouldn’t have been removed, it should have been removed slowly, and etc.

Lastly, if I am Tinubu, I will never back down from this subsidy removal. That is very counterproductive. I would rather focus on more palliative deployment whether it is commodity, minimum wage, tax cut, increase agric yield and etc. I rather spent 3 trillion on these than continue with Subsidy.

They are few privileged individuals in the country major industries who are determined to press down the common man and throw Nigeria into chaos while they pomp champagne in secret to celebrate their wickedness.
