If I were President Tinubu, I would introduce some heavy killer taxes that will drive MTN, DSTV, and Shoprite out of Nigeria to be replaced by Nigerian-owned businesses..

You can't chase away foreign companies because you have certain prejudices about them. If you go after a foreign company from a particular extraction, you give the perception to other foreign company's that their time is coming, this ultimately will reduce the size of their investment thereby reducing opportunities. The best way of getting rid of a company is creating better product and services at competitive prices.

It's unfortunate that our people still don't understand what a minimum wage regime should look like. Minimum wage is the least any citizen of working age should earn for their work. Increasing minimum wage to 75k is going to be insane, our economy isn't that strong. Government in general doesn't employ up to 20% of our viable work force, the large companies and banks don't employ up to 20% of our viable work force, more than 60% of our workforce work in SMEs or mSMEs, the question is have they been able to pay the 30k minimum wage?

PAN, Coscharis, Nord, and a lot of other guys are producing or have the capacity to produce cars in Nigeria, why do we have to single out innoson and back him up? This very act perpetrated by the PDP destroyed so many businesses thereby leaving us at the mercy of monopolist. Open the market to everyone let them compete, the best product or services wins, we need to stop manipulating markets.

We need to learn from history, not long ago we had issues with cattle rearers and land grabbing, we can't hand over land to people because they have a potential for agriculture. Instead, create a state government agriculture reserve, at the reserve we can have mechanised equipments farmers can rent, portions of land are leased to farmers for an agricultural season spanning say 18 months. After the season you have to renew the lease. We can have police stations and min army base around the reserve, even seed and fertilizer sharing would be the responsibility of the reserve management.

Reno got this wrong! His intents might be good, but the approach isn’t.

No serious nation that wants foreign direct investments will drive away those that are already within, it’s an own goal, a negative signal to prospective investors

Rather, local investors can be encouraged without having to kill foreign ones, they can coexist and thrive together.

LegendHero:
What he said sound good on paper, but in reality, it will be too counterproductive.

If you do that to those foreign countries, other investors brining their money to your economy will be wary of doing that and investment into the country will reduce drastically.

Even the said Nigerian companies might not be able to meet capacity. When we shut the border for food import, we thought our farmers and etc can ramp up production to increase supply internally but the reverse is the case.

Even tho we can blame insecurity for that too but Nigerian does not have that capacity yet to increase supply within a short time. Whether telecom, agriculture, or etc.

Lastly, if Tinubu do this same thing Reno propose and it backfires tomorrow, It is the same Reno that will write another epistle to blame Tinubu.

Oby Ekwesili wrote many epistle on why FG need to remove subsidy and liberalize the petroleum market. Now they did that, the same woman is now complaining bitterly again.

That man knows nothing about International Trade and Comparative Advantage at all.

Nigeria that depends on other nations will start driving other nations put? Dey play! Ordinary power supply, Nigeria still went out of her shores! With this loan-a-thon that Nigeria is doing grin

Instead to collect other people job , while not creat your own to compete with the other! Must u kill other people business with tax ? The one government is running how many have survive over the years ? And y monopolizing Nigeria business with people that have arrived? Are there no other people who can start d business in Nigeria ? Must it adenuga or dangote ? What of u ? What ur own quota to d development of Nigeria ?

Protest is your solution?

You've forgotten how you and your ilks broke from prison were brandishing weapons, Terrorizing Edo State after endSARS saga.

You wants that across the State of the Federation?

You're indeed weed smoker
slawomir:
Damnnn niggar
That is not the solution...we should unite first

Grab my weed and bottle while i listen to ras kimono "under pressure "
Isa wicked situation we passing through right now in are we nation..the people dem ma suffer...fuel 600+ a litre
Shege reloaded....Imagine no protest from Nigerians
lets start telling ourselves the truth and stop pretending if not this nation will be doomed in the nearest future
When a person from the three major tribe is the president..forget it you won't see a united protest from the masses...endsars protest the north didn't participate because their son was the president
Now with the hell we have been subjected to still no protest will happen because a son from a major tribe is the president( tinubu)...same thing will also occur if igbo man is the president

The only time we can see a united protest is when a person from minority tribe becomes the president...take for example subsidy removal of Jonathan in 2012...the whole nation united and there was protest despite the cheap and low cost of things...lets stop pretending...

It's easier for the big three to unite against a minority president than for the country to unite against a president from any of the big three. So unfortunate. That's the tragedy of Nigeria. We are doomed...please spread this news to every youth so we can unite..I'm not only a weed smoker, a pussy banger, a keyboard warrior And a drunkard but me I tell you I think critically..they don't know..zion greetings to all my fellow youth..lets move from babbylon to zion
