Theoretically speaking, the first African goalie at Man U was Gary Bailey of South Africa, who kept goal in the late 1970's and early 80s.

He went on to host Super sport's EPL broadcasts 20 years ago, along with a cast of several pundits.

Onana is the first black African goalie though.

is etoo still the president of fecafoot. I doubt. The problem was actually rigobert. who doesnt like a ball holding and back playing goalkeeper like onana in his tactics. but c'mon football is evolving. Not only reflexes like DDG a keeper with a good foot work gets to control the tempo of the game.

Even if they sign 4 defenders, and 3 strikers, una go still complain. grin

The coach is rebuilding a team that has not really progressed since Ferguson retired!... You can't sign everything in one season.

All his signings so far have been great... The academy players are showing great promise too.

There is no signed player that isn't needed badly:

Onana is urgently needed in that post to help them play from the back.

Mount is one of the few young creative and flexible midfield players that can function well in Ten Hag's 3-1-6 massive attacking style.

For the 9 position, Hojlund will have to do... He is better than Martial ATM. United certainly doesn't have the funds or room to splash recklessly on the elite strikers like Kane or Osimhen.

Heard they are also trying to land Sofyan Amrabat who can serve as a creative addition to Casemiro, while Mainoo grows into the role for the future!
