ThePresenceWtf:Not really, but we all know how such decisions affect the way the game turns out. Onazi was injured by Matuidi and was given a yellow. That ruined our structure cos Onazi was off and the criminal was still on pitch. It's a big deal because similar happened at 2019 as well. If the challenges on Ohale were reviewed and red card given, i can bet you the trajectory of the game would totally change cos they were poor defensively. Till then. Deborah own was deserved anyway. More intentional than the one that got Ayinde suspended for this game. |

What time is our next game? |
| Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by daveP(m): 12:38pm On Jul 21, 2023 |
lovewins:Totally agree with your point 11. Why do they always leave Oshoala alone in such circumstances? That's terrible judgement. See how they swarm our box and yet they were quick to recover their structure. I also noticed the overcrowding in the box for our CK was detrimental. They left only Abiodun as last woman and it also choked any movement of the ball that could have led to a goal. Ordega is fine as a late sub. But the plan of her coming on should be to be the lone winger that drifts to the centre. Her best highlight was that fake cross. Nothing more. A 5/10 performance for me. |

Ordega was below par, although I Ajibade too has not really delivered in recent times. I just hope she comes back better. daveP: |

In our next game, i expect that the back line will be the same, Halimatu, Payne and Ucheibe in the middle, while Ajibade, Oshoala, Onumonu will be in front, although i will like to have Desire play apart of that game, so we can assess her, maybe 30-40 mins to go.. |

yinkeys:I think you should stay off football for a while boss. |
| Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by mostob(m): 3:12pm On Jul 21, 2023 |
carbonado:I would go with Esther, Onumonu and Kanu up front. |
| Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by carbonado(m): 3:49pm On Jul 21, 2023 |
mostob:...i get what you mean, Ajibade can be annoying a times has she tends to hold on to the ball too long, basically overdressing the ball, while Oshoala has not been outstanding in the green white green in awhile, however, let see what the coach comes up with, he tends to surprise us all the time with his line up...lol... |

I think your analysis here is brilliant! Randy’s strategy worked extremely well - the defensive shape was spot on. This is the WWC and the most important thing was to get a positive result in the first game. We did that. That was clearly the target and we all saw Chiamaka’s celebration and relief after the whistle blew. The ladies have all gotten their gitters and nervousness out of the way and will be a bit more relaxed going forward. Was also very impressed with their fitness levels. People forget the game was played at High Noon in Melbourne where temps were highest in the day. Next game is a night one, so we can expect that their energy and intensity levels will be higher. lovewins: |

mostob:I would go with Onumonu, Oshoala and Ajibade. Ajibade would really help out Alozie with defensive duties too. Onumonu did enough in the first game to start the second one. Oshoala is Africa's best right now, I believe she should start, just her presence alone disturbs the opponent, look at the error the Canadian goalie made for example. |

BascoVanVeli:Here's a little trick. The video is on shorts, but you can edit the url. Remove the word "shorts" from the url and replace it with the word "watch". It'll give you the regular YouTube window. You can then click "share" and copy and paste the "embed" url here. |

yinkeys:That's what I have been looking for but Nnadozie was captain because the older players have washed their hands of the band. I think she did great as a captain sha. The band really looks good on her. |

Well, well, well... straight from the horse's mouth (Grace Chanda, A big blow to the Copper Queens. Hello everyone, It is with a lot of pain and sadness that I am very sorry to announce to you all that I will not be playing at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup. Back when I was a kid, I dreamt of playing football at the highest level. I grew up in a supportive family that gave me all the support I needed, a family that did not hesitate to allow me to go for trials in Lusaka or any other place they needed to see my football skills. God allowing, I was lucky to have been part of the Zambia national u17 team that played at the 2014 Under 17 World Cup in Costa Rica. It was there when I scored one of my major goals in my career, meeting a Barbra Banda cross to score the opening goal in the 2-1 win over Costa Rica. I remember this day like no other. From 2014, I have worked so hard to be consistent in the national team, I have broken a lot of barriers to play football consistently since then, I have been on the pitch when we have been beaten, I have also been on the pitch when we have won big. I play football with a lot of love and commitment, all thanks to my family, my fans, the clubs I have been to and everyone that has been around me. We carried the hopes of millions of Zambians when we qualified to the World Cup and finished third at the Africa Cup last year, and I am very sure that we will do the same this year, but sadly not without me as I will miss the tournament after getting ill. The last few days have been very difficult for me, having to be admitted to be hospital and missing out on preparing for the tournament I dreamt of playing but health comes first before anything. I would like to thank the medical team in New Zealand and Zambia who have supported me throughout this very difficult period. I am sharing this with everyone because I believe as vice-captain, I have a duty to support the team even through the pain. My illness at the moment cannot allow me to play any further part at this tournament. This is very painful but I guess this is part of human life and I have to turn my focus on recovering and cheering the team all the way. As the Copper Queens, we have shown great improvements over the years and I have no doubt that this is our time for us to shine at the big stage like the World Cup, and I have no doubt that the team will fly high, fight till their last strength to represent Zambia and get the wins. #superdangote #GC10 #amazinggrace
